Black Armory Returns: What Changed in Monument of Triumph?

When Monument of Triumph launched on June 9, 2026, Bungie surprised players by returning a large number of fan-favourite vaulted weapons to the game. Black Armory weapons were among the most requested, and they came back in a big way. Every weapon now drops with Tier 5 capability, fresh perk columns including element-specific perks that did not exist in the original Season of the Forge, and the new Forger’s Kin origin trait.

The Forger’s Kin trait reads: Black Armory weapon final blows briefly grant ammo generation, reload speed, and damage against combatants when the weapon is redrawn. Buff potency and duration increase for each equipped Black Armory weapon. This means running two or three Black Armory weapons at once stacks the buff, making dedicated Black Armory loadouts genuinely rewarding in sustained PvE content.

Holofoil versions of Black Armory weapons also drop from Arena Ops. These are cosmetically enhanced versions with a red glow and holofoil effect — same stats, different look. They can appear more frequently on days with a Bonus Focus active for a specific weapon.

How to Get Black Armory Weapons in Destiny 2

All Black Armory weapons except Threat Level drop from the Arena Ops playlist. Arena Ops is a six-player activity playlist that rotates through older seasonal activities like Ketchcrash, Nightmare Containment, and Override. Access it from the Destinations screen through the Vanguard Ops node.

Here is how to farm efficiently:

• Attunement: Open your Inventory and select the Attunement tab. Choose the Arena Ops Attunement category. Pick any Black Armory weapon to increase its drop rate from the playlist significantly — roughly a 1-in-2 chance of getting your chosen weapon from each run. Only one weapon can be attuned at a time per category.
• Bonus Focus days: Each day Arena Ops rotates a Bonus Focus weapon. On days when your target weapon is the Bonus Focus pick, your drop rate is even higher. Check the Director before farming to see which weapon has the bonus that day.
• Attunement stacking: Attuning to a Black Armory weapon in Arena Ops does not cancel any attunement in other categories like Crucible Ops or SRL. You can stack focuses across different playlist categories simultaneously.

Blast Furnace is a Kinetic Pulse Rifle and one of the most popular Black Armory weapons. It has always been a favourite for precision play, and its updated perk pool in Monument of Triumph makes it even better for general PvE. The combination of Kinetic Tremors and Firefly creates a loop where sustained fire builds up Kinetic Tremors (releasing a shockwave on kill), while Firefly detonates precision kills for a Solar explosion and reload speed boost.

Repulsor Brace generates a Void Overshield when you defeat a Volatile enemy, giving you a significant survivability bonus. It is a Solar Auto Rifle with access to Incandescent, making it one of the best primary weapons in the entire game for Solar builds right now. Incandescent spreads Scorch to nearby enemies on kills, which feeds Solar ability loops like the Crackshot Hunter build and any other Ember of Singeing setup. Firefly on top of that adds a Solar explosion on precision kills with a reload speed bonus.

The Spiteful Fang is a Lightweight Frame Stasis Combat Bow. Lightweight bows draw quickly and let you move faster while equipped — great for mobility-heavy builds. Rimestealer refunds melee and class ability energy when you pick up Stasis Shards, which synergises well with Stasis-heavy setups. Explosive Head adds an extra burst of damage on a direct hit, giving the bow some bonus clearing power against tightly grouped enemies.

The god roll leans into the melee synergy that Rapid-Fire shotguns are built for. One-Two Punch grants a 150% melee damage boost after landing most of the pellets, making your next melee swing hit extremely hard. Which Black Armory Weapons Are Worth Farming First?

If you are short on time, prioritise in this order:

• The Ringing Nail — Incandescent on a Solar Auto Rifle is rare and extremely powerful. Any Solar build player should get this first. It works in almost every PvE activity.
• Hammerhead — The best Void Machine Gun available right now. Strong in Void builds, scales up with Killing Tally, and benefits from Forger’s Kin in a multi-Black Armory loadout.
• Kindled Orchid — The Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds combination is the gold standard Void hand cannon roll. Excellent for sustained Void build survivability.
• Blast Furnace — Kinetic Tremors and Firefly make this one of the cleanest Kinetic primary weapons for general PvE. Low-effort, high-value.
• The Spiteful Fang — If you run any Stasis build at all, this is your best primary bow option and is not available elsewhere.
