TL;DR

  • This happens during the Familiar Curses quest — Mission 35 in Chapter 3.
  • Easiest method: buy the St. Halssius Visitor Pass from the Church of Hernand for 10 Silver.
  • Already at the location? Buy the Halssius Outfit from a guard on the right side of the building.
  • No Silver? Pickpocket guards around the building to get all 4 outfit pieces for free.
  • Hate stealth? Just run straight to the objective. The cutscene fires regardless of guards.
  • Find the Greymane (Yann) on the second floor, through the door on the right.

Stuck outside the St. Halssius House of Healing? You’re not alone. This part of the Familiar Curses quest confuses a lot of players. Guards block every entrance and toss Kliff out if he walks in without permission. Worse, getting arrested costs Silver — and that adds up fast.

The good news is there are five ways in. Some cost Silver. Some are free. One is just plain cheesy. Pick whatever fits your playstyle.

Where Is Halssius’s House of Healing?

The House of Healing is in the Serkis Estate area, far east of Hernand City. It sits near the eastern border of the Hernand region, close to Demeniss. You’ll come here automatically during Mission 35 of the main story — the Familiar Curses quest.

The mission asks you to find a Greymane who caused a disturbance inside the building. That Greymane is Yann. Rescuing him is the goal.

Want to see where this fits in the full story? Our guide on all Crimson Desert main story quests and chapters has the full breakdown.

Method 1: Buy the St. Halssius Visitor Pass (Best Option)

This is the cleanest way in. The St. Halssius Visitor Pass lets Kliff walk through the front gate without any issues. Despite the item description hinting at limited use, it works every single time.

Where to get it: Go to the Church of Hernand on the eastern side of Hernand City. Head inside and find the merchant at the Confessional. Buy the Visitor Pass for 10 Silver Coins.

How to use it: Approach the House of Healing through the main front gate on the west side. The guards will check the pass and let you through. That’s it.

Best for: Players still in Hernand City who can grab it before heading to the quest location.

Method 2: Buy the Halssius Outfit from the Guard

Already at the House of Healing and don’t want to travel back to the church? There’s a shortcut right at the location.

Where to find the guard: Walk along the right (east) side of the outer wall. You’ll spot a guard standing in front of a door. He’ll start talking to Kliff, hinting that he knows what Kliff is after.

Interact with him. He’ll sell you the full Halssius Outfit for 10 Silver Coins. You get all four pieces:

  • St. Halssius Priest Attire
  • St. Halssius Priest’s Cloak
  • St. Halssius Priest’s Leather Footwear
  • St. Halssius Priest’s Hat

Equip all four pieces. Once fully dressed, walk in through the front entrance. No one will stop you.

Best for: Players who skipped the church and went straight to the quest marker.

Method 3: Pickpocket Guards for the Outfit (Free)

Don’t want to spend Silver? You can get the entire Halssius Outfit by pickpocketing the guards around the House of Healing.

It’s not guaranteed on every attempt. You’ll need to try a few times to collect all four pieces. But with some patience, the outfit is completely free.

Once you have all four, equip them and walk in. Want to get better at pickpocketing before you try? Here’s our guide on how to steal items in Crimson Desert.

Best for: Players low on Silver who don’t mind retrying the pickpocket mechanic.

Method 4: Sneak In Without a Disguise (Hardest)

Pure stealth is possible here. But it’s genuinely difficult. Guards patrol in overlapping patterns and civilians are everywhere — though only guards will flag you as a threat.

Tips for sneaking in:

  • Stay crouched at all times.
  • Climb over the outer walls and move along the rooftops to bypass ground-level patrols.
  • Lure solo guards away from the group before dealing with them.
  • Use windows to reach the second floor instead of the main staircase, which is heavily patrolled.

Pro tip: Create a separate save first. Use it to scout the layout, find blind spots, and locate the objective. Then reload your main save and run the real attempt. It saves a lot of frustration.

Timing matters too. Our guide on how to change time of day in Crimson Desert is worth reading — sneaking at night is noticeably easier.

Best for: Players who enjoy the challenge or want to save Silver.

Method 5: Just Run Straight to the Objective (Cheesy but It Works)

This takes advantage of how the game handles objectives and combat. Guards can see Kliff, chase him, and even tackle him. But none of that matters once he hits the objective.

How it works: Enter the building — through any entrance — and sprint directly to the quest marker. Don’t stop to fight or hide. If a guard tackles Kliff, just stand up and keep running. The moment Kliff reaches the objective, the game triggers the cutscene automatically. Every guard chasing him disappears.

It’s messy. It looks terrible. It works every time.

If you’re heading into combat anyway, it helps to be prepared. Here’s how to upgrade weapons and armor in Crimson Desert before taking on tougher areas.

Best for: Players who just want to push through the quest fast.

How to Find the Greymane Inside the House of Healing

Once you’re inside, the quest updates: find the Greymane at the House of Healing. Here’s exactly where to go:

  1. Enter the main building at the far end of the grounds.
  2. Walk to the end of the main hall.
  3. Take the stairs on your right.
  4. On the second floor, go through the open door ahead.
  5. You’ll enter another chamber. Look for the door on the right side.
  6. Yann — the Greymane — is in that room, mid-fight with guards.

A cutscene plays. Kliff saves Yann. After that, follow Yann as he escapes over the rooftop to a nearby cottage. Once he comes back out, follow him to the Pywell Wagon. The wagon takes you to Nas River Fishing Dock. That’s where the Familiar Curses quest ends.
