How to Get a Wagon in Crimson Desert
TL;DR
- You can get a wagon by building one legitimately or stealing one from the world
- Stolen wagons cannot be used for trade — only sold at Wagon Fences
- Building a wagon requires Brice, an Engineer comrade, and the Timberturner Wainwright dispatch mission
- There are three wagon tiers — bigger wagons carry more but take longer and cost more to build
- Package trade goods through Karl before loading onto your wagon via Brice
- Goldleaf Guildhouse requires a minimum of 25 stacks to sell — buy low in one region, sell high in another
A wagon is one of the most important tools for trading in Crimson Desert. Without one, you cannot move bulk goods between settlements or earn serious camp funds from the trade system. Getting a wagon legally takes some quest progress, but it is well worth the effort. You can also steal one if you just want quick cash.

Two ways to get a wagon in Crimson Desert
There are two ways to get a wagon in Crimson Desert: steal one or build one.
Stealing is faster but comes with serious limitations. Building one takes more effort but gives you a permanent wagon you can actually use for trade.
How to steal a wagon in Crimson Desert
Wagons belonging to NPCs and caravans can be found throughout Pywel. You can steal any of them, but you need a mask equipped first to perform criminal actions.
Masks can be bought from any Back Alley Shop for 10 Copper. There is one Back Alley Shop on the eastern road near Hernand, on the west side of the river. You can also find masks as random loot from bandits you defeat.
Once you have your mask on, jump into an unattended wagon and drive it to a Wagon Fence to sell it. Keep in mind:
- Stolen wagons cannot be registered as your property
- You cannot use a stolen wagon for legitimate trade
- Special or custom-skinned wagons sell for the same price as normal ones — there is no bonus for stealing a fancy wagon
- Committing crimes reduces your Regional Contribution, even if no one sees you
- Too many crimes will put a bounty on your head. See our guide on how to remove a bounty in Crimson Desert if that happens
Where to sell stolen wagons — Wagon Fence locations
Wagon Fences are found in most regions and will buy any stolen wagon or cart. Drive the stolen wagon to the Fence, park it at the entrance, and a short cutscene will play to complete the sale.
The earliest Wagon Fence location is east of Hernand, along the Nas River, south of the Halssius Apothecary. Another is located north of the Unicorn Cliff. Check your map for Wagon Fence markers as you explore more regions.

How to build a wagon in Crimson Desert
Building your own wagon is the only way to use one for proper trade. This takes more steps but gives you a wagon that is permanently yours.

Here is the full process from start to finish.
Step 1 — Unlock Brice
Complete the A Rumor in Glenbright Farm quest. This is part of the Greymane Grounds of the Sunrise questline tied to your camp at Howling Hill. Completing it recruits Brice, who sets up the Wagon Management Office at your camp.
Once Brice is at camp, a commission called Brice’s Request will appear under your Greymane Commissions tab. You need to complete enough Greymane Commissions for it to unlock — for most players this happens around Chapter 4.
For more on managing your comrades and camp, see our guides on how to get comrades in Crimson Desert and how to use Contribution Points in Crimson Desert.
Step 2 — Get an Engineer Comrade
To build a wagon at Timberturner Wainwright, you must have at least one comrade with the Engineering skill assigned to the dispatch mission.
Important: Most Freeswords only unlock Engineering at Level 3. This takes time. Keep running dispatch missions and completing quests to level your comrades up.
Here are the Engineers you can recruit:
- Arnold — recruited by completing the A Rumor in St. Halssius quest. This is the easiest and fastest Engineer to get
- Otto — recruited from the early A Rumor in Hills of No Return mission, but must reach Level 3 before the Engineering skill unlocks, which takes longer
- Terry and Falstaff — both recruited from the A Rumor in Calphade quest
Arnold is the recommended choice. He is the earliest Engineer available with the skill already active.
Step 3 — Go to Timberturner Wainwright
With Brice recruited and an Engineer ready, open your map and locate Timberturner Wainwright, which sits northeast of your camp on Howling Hill.
Inspect the location, then open the Mission Dispatch menu by speaking to Ross at camp. Scroll through the mission list and find Timberturner Wainwright.
Step 4 — Choose your wagon tier
There are three wagon tiers to choose from. Each tier costs more camp funds and resources, requires more workers, and takes longer to complete — but carries more cargo slots.
Start with a smaller wagon if your camp resources are tight. You can always build a bigger one later as your camp grows. Wait for the dispatch mission to finish, then speak to Brice to complete his request and receive your wagon.
How to get Engineers in Crimson Desert
Once your wagon is built, here is how to use it:

- Speak to Karl (the Provisions Keeper at camp) to package your trade goods. Open the Camp Provisions menu. It costs 100 camp funds to package each trade good. You can also convert camp resources directly using P on PC or L3 on controller — every 1,000 resources becomes one packaged trade good
- Speak to Brice at the Wagon Management Office
- Choose which wagon you want to deploy
- Move your packaged cargo into the wagon, then press Close when done
- You will be deployed with the wagon — drive it manually to the Trading Post of your choice
Wagons can take damage on long drives, so plan your route carefully and avoid rough terrain where possible.
Where to trade with your wagon in Crimson Desert

Goldleaf Guildhouse
One of the main trading locations in the Hernand region. Find Ugmon inside to trade your goods. Note that the Guildhouse requires a minimum of 25 stacks of any item to complete a trade — it will not buy smaller quantities. Check the trading page before driving there to confirm what they are currently buying.

Royal Trading Posts
Royal Trading Posts will automatically accept the items you bring, as long as those items are on their current demand list. The trading post north of Hernand Castle is one of the first you can reach. Check the trading page first — they only buy specific goods and will not take random items.
For the best profits, buy goods cheap in one region and sell them in another region where prices are higher. Prices fluctuate on a weekly cycle, so timing your sales matters. Our guide on how to gain trust with merchants and trade agreements covers how to build relationships that improve your trade deals over time.
Quick tips for trading with a wagon
- Always check the Trading Post page before loading your wagon — do not haul goods that are not in demand
- Buy low at the Goldleaf Guildhouse and sell high when prices rise in another region
- Use fast travel in Crimson Desert to plan the most efficient route between your camp and the trading post
- Keep your inventory expanded before big trade runs — see our guide on how to increase inventory space in Crimson Desert
