    TL;DR

    • Shiny Tooth is an Oddity item in The Blood of Dawnwalker that drops from human and undead enemies.
    • The earliest guaranteed Shiny Tooth is in the pig pen near Andrei’s hideout during The Heart Wants What It Wants quest.
    • Human bosses in bandit and soldier camps are the most reliable source for farming multiple teeth fast.
    • You need three Shiny Teeth for the Good Home quest if you choose to let Heile leave with Tonis.
    • Complete the Pearly and Precious quest to unlock the Sanzhana Merchant, who buys Shiny Teeth for 150 Denarii each.
    • After Pearly and Precious, the Sanzhana Merchant moves permanently to the Yawning Burrow in Svartrau Outskirts.
    • Drop rate increases noticeably after finishing the Pearly and Precious quest.

Shiny Tooth in The Blood of Dawnwalker is one of those items that starts as a weird random drop and quickly becomes something you wish you had more of. It shows up as a quest requirement, a merchant currency, and a passive money-maker all at once. This guide covers every way to get Shiny Teeth, the fastest farming spots, how to use them in quests, and exactly how to sell them for Denarii through the Sanzhana Merchant.

What Is The Shiny Tooth in Blood of Dawnwalker?

The Shiny Tooth is classified as an Oddity — a special category of collectible item that doesn’t stack as regular loot but serves key purposes in specific quests and merchant trades. It functions as a mandatory quest item for the Good Home and Pearly and Precious quests, and it’s also the main trade good you can sell to the Sanzhana Merchant for 150 Denarii per tooth.

Think of it as two things at once: a quest resource you need to hand over at certain points, and a small but steady income source once you know where to look. The drop rate starts out inconsistent, but once you progress through the Sanzhani questline, enemies begin dropping them more frequently.

How To Get Shiny Tooth in Blood of Dawnwalker

There are a few different ways to pick up Shiny Teeth across the game. Some are guaranteed, some are random. Here’s the full breakdown:

    1. The Earliest Guaranteed Shiny Tooth (Before Any Quests)

You can get your hands on a Shiny Tooth very early in the game during the The Heart Wants What It Wants quest. Near Andrei’s hideout, there is a pig pen. Search the hay inside the pen and you’ll find a Shiny Tooth sitting there waiting to be grabbed. No combat needed. This is the cleanest early pickup in the game.

    2. Random Drop From Human Enemies

Shiny Teeth drop as random loot from human enemies across Vale Sangora. Road patrols, camp soldiers, and bandits can all drop one, but the rate is unreliable. You might kill a dozen regular enemies and come away with nothing. Because of this, random drops from standard human enemies are not something you should depend on when you need three teeth in a hurry.

Always loot every body you leave behind. Over the course of normal play, a few teeth will accumulate this way even without farming.

    3. Random Drop From Undead Enemies

Undead enemies can also drop Shiny Teeth, but the rate is even lower than from humans. Don’t go out of your way to hunt undead specifically for teeth. If you happen to get one while clearing an area, great — but it shouldn’t be your main plan.

    4. Human Bosses in Bandit and Soldier Camps (Best Farming Method)

This is the most reliable method. Human bosses that guard bandit camps and soldier camps have a much higher and more consistent drop rate for Shiny Teeth. Each boss typically drops one tooth alongside Denarii, gear, and other loot. If you need three teeth quickly for the Good Home quest, targeting three camps in the same area is the fastest way to get there.

Three camps that sit close together and each have a guaranteed human boss drop are:

    • Small camp southwest of Svyatograd City, near Rock Fall — Boss: Renegade Bruiser
    • Soldier Camp south of Rock Fall — Boss: Wrakha: Hammerer
    • Soldier Camp in the Marogir Wealds — Boss: Wrakha: Bruiser

Clear these three in one run and you’ll have all the teeth you need. Make sure to manually loot each boss’s corpse — teeth do not automatically drop into your inventory, so check the body before moving on.

Note: The Wrakha: Hammerer uses heavy, slow swings. Wait for the attack to finish before trading hits. The Renegade Bruiser is more aggressive, so keep mobile and don’t let it corner you.

    5. Bandit Camp Southwest of Small Bridge Shrine

During the Pearly and Precious quest, there is a Bandit Camp located southwest of the Small Bridge Shrine in the Briar Sloughs region. This camp is tied to the quest, and you can pick up a Shiny Tooth here to give to the Sanzhana and unlock the merchant. Even outside of that quest, clearing this camp gives you a reliable tooth early in your run through that area.

Good Home Quest – Three Shiny Teeth Required

The Good Home quest is where most players first run into a hard demand for Shiny Teeth. During the quest, you meet a Sanzhana named Heile in her burrow who wants to leave with her brother Tonis. If you push for Heile to leave the burrow and go with Tonis, the Tsarina steps in and names her price: three Shiny Teeth.

This requirement only shows up if you choose that specific dialogue path — specifically, argue that the girl should live among her own kind, follow up asking what future waits for her in the burrow, then agree to the Tsarina’s terms. If you instead convince Tonis to leave Heile behind, the quest ends right there and no teeth are ever needed.

Both choices still unlock the Sanzhani questline and let you send letters to Lunka, so the teeth are the cost of one specific outcome, not the cost of progress. For the full walkthrough on this quest and its choices, see our Good Home quest choices guide.

Pearly and Precious Quest – One Shiny Tooth Required

After completing Good Home, you can trigger the Pearly and Precious side quest by heading to the Small Bridge Shrine in the Briar Sloughs region. Head directly south from the shrine, inspect the ruined camp, and use Focus Mode to follow drag marks into the woods until you find a Sanzhana looting corpses near a mushroom circle.

This Sanzhana has a deal with local bandits — they kill and bring bodies, she collects the teeth. She won’t speak to you unless you hand over one Shiny Tooth. Head to the Bandit Camp southwest of her location, clear it, grab the tooth, and come back. Hand it over and she opens up her shop, completing the quest and unlocking the Sanzhana Merchant permanently.

The quest takes only 1 Time Segment, rewards 100 XP and 1 Skill Point, and importantly raises enemy Shiny Tooth drop rates going forward. Doing this quest early is one of the smartest moves for anyone who wants to build up Denarii consistently throughout the playthrough.

How To Sell Shiny Teeth – The Sanzhana Merchant

Once you complete the Pearly and Precious quest, you unlock the Sanzhana Merchant. Despite the Sanzhana’s dialogue suggesting gold doesn’t matter to them, the merchant absolutely uses standard Denarii for transactions — she pays you 150 Denarii per Shiny Tooth.

Where Is The Sanzhana Merchant After Pearly and Precious?

Right after you complete the quest, the Sanzhana Merchant moves to her permanent location at the Yawning Burrow in the Svartrau Outskirts. This is also where the other Sanzhani from the questline gather over time. If you don’t sell to her immediately at the quest location, don’t worry — just head to the Yawning Burrow and she’ll be there.

For a general overview of all vendor locations across the map, our all merchant locations guide is a useful reference.

What Does The Sanzhana Merchant Sell?

The Sanzhana’s shop stocks mostly rings and amulets, with some skill manuals mixed in. Her inventory refreshes over time, so it’s worth checking back after you’ve sold a batch of teeth. Notably, she sometimes stocks a legendary amulet called the Fear of the Wilds, so don’t assume the shop is only low-tier gear.

More importantly, the Sanzhana Merchant is one of only two ways to get a Bundle of Silk Threads in the entire game. This item is needed for the A Bulwark Against Darkness quest to craft the Arbiter Armour set. It costs around 5,750 Denarii, so farming and selling Shiny Teeth is actually the best way to build up the funds for it.

Tips for Farming Shiny Teeth Efficiently

    • Do Pearly and Precious early. Completing this quest raises the passive drop rate from enemies. The sooner you do it, the more teeth you’ll collect just by playing normally.
    • Always loot camp bosses. Human bosses in bandit and soldier camps are the most consistent source. Make it a habit to fully loot every camp you clear — there’s almost always other good gear alongside the teeth.
    • Check the Yawning Burrow shop often. If you’re accumulating teeth and not spending them, sell a batch, then check back at the shop later. The inventory refreshes, so timing your visits around your sell-offs can get you better items.
    • Don’t skip the pig pen. If you’re doing The Heart Wants What It Wants, the pig pen near Andrei’s hideout is a free Shiny Tooth with zero effort. Never leave it behind.
    • Save some teeth if you need the Bundle of Silk Threads. The Bundle costs roughly 5,750 Denarii. At 150 Denarii per tooth, that’s around 38 teeth worth of selling. It sounds like a lot, but it adds up fast once enemy drop rates improve.

Shiny Tooth and The Beast of Balaur Connection

While you’re out in Boar’s Back farming Shiny Teeth from camps, it’s worth combining that run with the Beast of Balaur quest, which is also located in the same region west of Parlita. That quest takes you into a mountain cave where you fight a hellhound miniboss and, if you explore fully at night using Shadow Step, you can also grab the Gladius Legendary Sword and the Phial of Brencis’s Blood from a hidden study room. Combining both activities in one area run saves valuable Time Segments on the in-game clock.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is Shiny Tooth used for in The Blood of Dawnwalker?

Shiny Tooth is used as a quest item in the Good Home quest (three are required if you let Heile leave with Tonis) and in the Pearly and Precious quest (one is needed to start trading with the Sanzhana). After unlocking the Sanzhana Merchant, extra teeth can be sold for 150 Denarii each.

Where is the easiest place to farm Shiny Teeth?

Human bosses in bandit and soldier camps are the most reliable source. Three camps near Rock Fall and the Marogir Wealds, southwest of Svyatograd City, each have a human boss that consistently drops one Shiny Tooth. Clear all three in one run and you’ll have your three teeth quickly.

Where does the Sanzhana Merchant go after Pearly and Precious?

After you complete the Pearly and Precious quest, the Sanzhana Merchant relocates permanently to the Yawning Burrow in the Svartrau Outskirts. That’s where you’ll find her for all future selling and buying, including the Bundle of Silk Threads needed for A Bulwark Against Darkness.

Does the Shiny Tooth drop rate increase?

Yes. The drop rate for Shiny Teeth from human and undead enemies increases noticeably after you complete the Pearly and Precious quest with the Sanzhani. Doing this quest early in your playthrough is one of the better decisions you can make if you want a steady supply throughout the campaign.
