TL;DR
- Whispering Shadows is the 110th main quest in Crimson Desert, part of Chapter 8 — Blood Coronation.
- Fly or glide to the roof of Sungrove Manor from the backside to avoid guards.
- Enter via a window on the right side of the manor.
- Find and read two memories using Kliff’s lantern — one upstairs, one downstairs.
- Completing this quest starts the Bloodied Invitation quest.
How to Infiltrate Sungrove Manor in Crimson Desert
The Whispering Shadows quest sends Kliff to Sungrove Manor in the Hernand region. It’s the direct follow-up to the Blazing Fire quest and the Azerian Manor infiltration, and it works in a similar way. You need to get inside, find two hidden memories, and get out.
Here is everything you need to know.

Step 1: Get to Sungrove Manor
Sungrove Manor is close to where the Blazing Fire quest ends. It won’t take long to reach it. The manor has guards both inside and outside, but you don’t need to be fully stealthy here. You can fight them if you want.
The fastest and cleanest way to get inside is through the roof.
Step 2: Fly or Glide to the Roof

You need to get on top of the manor. The best approach is to fly or glide from the backside of the building. There are fewer guards on that side, so you’re less likely to get spotted on the way up.
Once you’re airborne, aim to land on the right side of the roof. This is important because the window you need to use is on the right side of the manor.
Step 3: Find the Right Window

After landing on the roof, descend along the right side of the building. You’re looking for a window you can open and climb through.
There’s a known quirk here. The button prompt to open the window can be slow to appear. Don’t panic and keep moving around. Just wait a moment before pressing anything — the prompt needs a few seconds to show up.
Step 4: Enter Through the Window
Getting inside through the window can feel a little awkward. The game’s climb animation sometimes doesn’t register properly.
The best trick: don’t wait for the button prompt. Instead, position Kliff directly underneath the window frame and then start climbing. The animation will kick in and take Kliff through the window on its own. This is more reliable than waiting for the on-screen prompt.
Once inside, you’ll be in the room that holds the first memory.

Step 5: Read the First Memory (Upstairs)

You’re now in the upper chamber. Aim your lantern at the desk in the room. This triggers the first memory — it reveals information about Beatrice Azerian’s whereabouts.
To view the memory fully, look at the blue ghost figures using your interact button until the “Learning in Progress” bar completes. Then open your menu, go to the Memory Fragment section, equip the Visione Helmet, and play it back. You can also find the Visione Helmet directly in your inventory and select the memory from there.
This is the same mechanic used throughout the game for memory fragments. If you’ve been using it throughout the story, it’ll feel natural by this point. If you want a refresher on how it works, check out our guide on how to read and replay memory fragments in Crimson Desert.
Step 6: Head Downstairs

After collecting the first memory, exit the room and go down the stairs to the first floor of the manor.
This is where things get a little trickier. There will be a guard standing near the second memory location. You need to deal with them before you can read it.
Step 7: Take Out the Guard
The guard is standing right where the second memory is. Don’t try to read the memory while the guard is active — they will interrupt you and make it difficult.
Take them out quickly before they alert any other guards in the area. If a guard grabs Kliff and you miss the QTE, they can toss Kliff out of the manor entirely, so be quick with the counter when it appears.

Step 8: Read the Second Memory (Downstairs)
Once the guard is down, aim your lantern at the center of the corridor. This is where the second memory is stored. It reveals information about Beatrice’s co-conspirators.
Use the same process as before — scan the blue ghosts, wait for the learning bar to complete, then play the memory using the Visione Helmet from your inventory or menu.
Completing the Quest
After reading both memories, the Whispering Shadows quest wraps up. A new quest called Bloodied Invitation will start automatically.
That next quest is a more intense stealth mission. It sends Kliff to yet another manor to deal with Count Byron — the man responsible for setting Pailune aflame. It requires careful movement and a quick assassination, so be ready.
Tips for Infiltrating Sungrove Manor
- You don’t need to be fully stealthy. You can kill guards freely. Just watch out for the grab QTE — fail it twice and you’ll be tossed outside.
- The window is on the right side. Don’t waste time on the left side of the manor.
- Be patient with button prompts. The window interaction is a little buggy. Positioning Kliff under the frame and climbing is the most reliable method.
- Deal with the downstairs guard first. You won’t be able to read the second memory comfortably while they’re active.
- Use your lantern on blue ghost visuals. That’s how both memories are triggered, just like most memory mechanics in the game.
