Who Is Ororon in Genshin Impact?
Ororon is a 4-star Electro Bow character in Genshin Impact, introduced in Version 5.2 alongside Chasca. He is a member of the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe in Natlan and is one of the six recognized Heroes of Natlan, bearing the Ancient Name “Bidii”, which means Devotion.
His backstory is a sad one. Ororon was abandoned as an infant because he was born with a “Damaged Soul.” He was found and raised by the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe, and his most important mentor was Citlali, who shaped much of his personality. He grew into an eccentric and solitary young man who prefers to live alone rather than within the tribe. Despite his preference for isolation, he plays a crucial role in Natlan’s battle against the Abyss.
In combat, Ororon is a reliable off-field Electro dealer. He throws Graffiti Bombs that bounce between enemies, summons a Psionic Eye that distracts foes and deals continuous Electro DMG, and enters a passive Nightsoul’s Blessing state that fires follow-up Electro hits from off-field. He is easy to use, consistent, and fits naturally into many Electro-Charged and Taser team builds.
You can play Genshin Impact on Android, iOS, PlayStation, Epic Games, and Xbox.

Ororon’s Role and Playstyle
Ororon plays almost exclusively as an Off-Field Electro Sub-DPS. His kit is built around staying off the field while his Elemental Skill and Burst continue to deal Electro damage in the background. His passive Hypersense state fires additional Electro hits automatically whenever teammates trigger Electro-Charged or Nightsoul-aligned attacks.
His rotation is simple and fast. You swap him in, use his Skill and Burst, then swap out to your main DPS. From that point, he handles his own job in the background. This quick-swap style makes him very team-friendly and easy to slot into many existing compositions.
He is most at home in these team types:
- Electro-Charged (Taser) Teams – His strongest environment. Pair him with Hydro characters to constantly trigger Electro-Charged, which activates his Hypersense passive and deals strong AoE Electro follow-up damage.
- Nightsoul-Aligned Teams – Works well alongside other Natlan characters who deal Nightsoul-aligned damage, activating his passive more consistently.
- Hyperbloom Teams – Can contribute Electro application for Hyperbloom setups, though this is a secondary use case rather than his primary strength.
Ororon’s Abilities and Talents
Normal Attack – Frenzied Nightwind
Ororon performs up to three consecutive Bow shots. His Charged Attack deals increased Electro DMG after a brief aiming period and has a special ability to scan runes and graffiti in Natlan, triggering different effects depending on what it scans. His Plunging Attack fires a shower of arrows in the air before striking the ground for AoE DMG. Normal Attack is not a priority to level up in standard build.
Elemental Skill – Night’s Sling
Ororon tosses a Graffiti Bomb that bounces between nearby enemies, attacking them with Electro DMG. It stops after hitting three times or when no more enemies are in range. It can only hit each individual enemy once per cast. This skill is a key source of his Electro application and helps trigger his Nightsoul passive. It is the top priority talent to level.
Elemental Burst – Spirited Serenade
Ororon summons a Psionic Eye that deals AoE Electro DMG on summon. While active (roughly 9 seconds), the Psionic Eye taunts nearby enemies, drawing their attacks away from your active character. It also spins and emits soundwaves that deal continuous Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG to nearby enemies. This is his second most important talent.
1st Ascension Passive – Nightshade Synesthesia
This is the heart of Ororon’s kit. When enemies are hit by Electro-Charged or by Nightsoul-aligned attacks, Ororon automatically fires a Hypersense Electro follow-up shot targeting up to four enemies. This shot deals Electro DMG equal to 160% of his ATK. It can trigger once every 0.3 seconds and up to 10 times during the 15-second window after using his Elemental Skill.
This passive is what makes Ororon tick. It fires automatically from off-field and deals meaningful damage, especially in teams that constantly trigger Electro-Charged. Since it scales purely on ATK, his build priorities become very straightforward.
4th Ascension Passive – Supersonic Surge
After consuming Nightsoul points to trigger the Hypersense effect from his 1st Ascension Passive, the active party member’s ATK increases by 10% for 9 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. Each stack is counted independently. At full stacks, this gives your active character a 30% ATK boost, which is a meaningful buff for your main DPS.
Utility Passive – Prism Graffiti
Ororon’s Charged Attack can scan runes and graffiti in Natlan, creating unique exploration effects. This is purely an exploration utility passive and has no combat function.
Talent Priority for Ororon
- Elemental Skill first – His Graffiti Bomb triggers his Nightsoul state and is one of his main damage sources.
- Elemental Burst second – The Psionic Eye deals continuous damage and provides the team taunt utility.
- Normal Attack last – Ororon stays off-field almost all the time. Normal Attack investment is essentially wasted in standard builds.
Also note: since much of his power comes from his 1st Ascension Passive (Hypersense), leveling Ororon to 90 is a high priority. His character level directly impacts how much damage Hypersense deals, so max ascension matters more for him than it does for many other supports.
Best Weapons for Ororon
5-Star Weapons
- Elegy for the End – His best overall weapon. Provides a high base ATK, Energy Recharge sub-stat, and a strong passive that buffs the entire team’s ATK and Elemental Mastery when conditions are met. Perfect for his quick-swap support role in Electro-Charged teams.
- Aqua Simulacra – Provides CRIT DMG and a universal damage buff when enemies are nearby. Solid personal damage option if you prioritize his own output over team buffing.
4-Star Weapons
- The Stringless – Provides Elemental Mastery and unconditionally boosts Elemental Skill and Burst DMG. A very clean and reliable option that benefits his two most important abilities directly.
- Favonius Warbow – Generates energy particles for the whole team when Ororon scores a CRIT hit. Excellent if your team needs energy support and you’re struggling with Burst uptime.
- Sacrificial Bow – Its passive can reset the Elemental Skill cooldown, allowing Ororon to use his Graffiti Bomb twice per rotation for more Electro application and more Hypersense triggers.
- Cloudforged – A decent free-to-play option that provides Energy Recharge and helps maintain Burst uptime.
- Alley Hunter – Buffs Ororon’s damage significantly when he is off-field, which is exactly where he spends most of his time. A surprisingly strong 4-star option for maximizing his personal damage.
Best Artifacts for Ororon
Primary Build – 4-Piece Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City
This is his best-in-slot artifact set in most situations. It is tailored for Natlan characters who deal damage through elemental reactions. The 4-piece bonus allows Ororon to amplify the team’s Elemental DMG by up to 28% when he triggers Nightsoul-aligned mechanics, including through Electro-Charged reactions from teammates. This set turns Ororon from a pure damage dealer into a hybrid Sub-DPS and team buffer — which is exactly what his 4th Ascension Passive already nudges him toward.
Alternative – 4-Piece Thundering Fury
A good option if you want to lean harder into personal damage and Electro reaction output. The 4-piece bonus boosts Electro, Superconduct, Overloaded, and Electro-Charged DMG while reducing Elemental Skill cooldown when reactions are triggered. Works well in Electro-Charged focused teams where he constantly procs reactions.
Alternative – 4-Piece Emblem of Severed Fate
If you have energy issues, this set helps. It boosts Energy Recharge and converts it into Elemental Burst DMG. Useful if you find yourself unable to maintain consistent Burst uptime, especially in teams without a dedicated battery or second Electro unit.
Alternative – 2-Piece Combos
If you don’t have good Scroll pieces yet, a mix of 2-piece Thunder Soother (Electro DMG +15%), 2-piece Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, or 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate works as a placeholder while farming the better set.
Recommended Artifact Main Stats
- Sands: ATK%
- Goblet: Electro DMG Bonus
- Circlet: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
Recommended Substats
Energy Recharge (until comfortable Burst uptime) > CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > ATK%. Aim for around 140–160% Energy Recharge without a second Electro character in the team. With another Electro character like Fischl or Beidou, you can drop that closer to 120%.
Best Team Compositions for Ororon
Ororon Electro-Charged Team (Taser)
- Kamisato Ayato (Hydro DPS) + Ororon (Electro Sub-DPS) + Furina (Hydro Support) + Xilonen (Geo / Buffer)
Ayato applies consistent Hydro on-field while Ororon applies off-field Electro. The constant Electro-Charged triggers keep activating Ororon’s Hypersense passive for strong follow-up Electro hits. Furina amplifies damage through her HP-scaling mechanics. Xilonen provides resistance shred and enables the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City buff. A top-tier premium Taser team.
Ororon Multi-Reaction Team (SS Tier)
- Chasca (Anemo Main DPS) + Furina (Hydro) + Ororon (Electro) + Bennett (Pyro / Healer)
This team maximizes Chasca’s damage by enabling multi-elemental reactions through the combination of Hydro, Electro, and Pyro. Ororon’s Nightsoul-aligned Electro hits synergize directly with Chasca’s Nightsoul damage mechanics. Furina and Bennett provide healing, ATK buffs, and reaction fuel. A strong team for players who have Chasca and want a Natlan-centric lineup.
Ororon with Clorinde (Electro-Charged)
- Clorinde (Electro Main DPS) + Furina (Hydro) + Ororon (Electro Sub-DPS) + Xilonen (Geo / Buffer)
Clorinde acts as the on-field Electro DPS while Ororon provides additional off-field Electro support and his ATK buff through the 4th Ascension Passive. Furina’s Hydro application enables constant Electro-Charged. Xilonen gives resistance shred and enables the Scroll buff. One of Ororon’s strongest Electro-centric teams.
Ororon with Neuvillette (Hydro Carry)
- Neuvillette (Hydro Main DPS) + Furina (Hydro Support) + Ororon (Electro) + Xilonen (Geo / Buffer)
Neuvillette’s Hydro Charged Attacks pair well with Ororon’s off-field Electro application to constantly trigger Electro-Charged. The Psionic Eye taunt is especially valuable here, as it keeps enemies inside Neuvillette’s AoE for longer. Ororon’s Hypersense fires consistently throughout Neuvillette’s rotation. A natural and efficient pairing.
Ororon Budget Taser Team
- Sangonomiya Kokomi (Hydro / Healer) + Ororon (Electro Sub-DPS) + Beidou (Electro Sub-DPS) + Sucrose (Anemo / EM Buffer)
A classic Taser composition using widely available characters. Kokomi provides healing and consistent Hydro application. Ororon and Beidou both contribute off-field Electro. Sucrose applies VV shred and shares Elemental Mastery to amplify Electro-Charged damage. No 5-star characters required and still very strong in Spiral Abyss.

Ororon Constellations Guide
Ororon is a 4-star character, so collecting constellations over time through standard banner or rate-up events is realistic. Here is what each constellation does:
- C1 – Inkstone Ode: Ororon’s Elemental Skill gains an additional charge. This lets him use his Graffiti Bomb twice before waiting for cooldown, increasing Electro application and Hypersense trigger rate. A good quality-of-life upgrade that improves his energy regeneration too.
- C2 – Staccato Serenade: Extends the duration of his Elemental Burst (Psionic Eye) by 3 seconds. More time on field means more continuous Electro pulses and a longer taunt window. Useful for sustained fights.
- C3 – Harmonic Pulse: Increases the level of his Elemental Skill by 3 (max level 15). A direct damage buff to his Graffiti Bomb.
- C4 – Resonant Echo: When Ororon’s Hypersense fires (from his Ascension Passive), the active character on field deals increased Electro-Charged DMG. Adds more punch to his passive interaction in Taser teams.
- C5 – Crescendo Chorus: Increases the level of his Elemental Burst by 3 (max level 15). Boosts Psionic Eye’s damage output.
- C6 – Nightwind Resonance: After triggering Hypersense, the active party member gains a 30% ATK buff for a period. At C6, Ororon goes from a pure damage unit to a meaningful team buffer. This constellation significantly raises his value in ATK-scaling DPS teams.
Summary: C1 is the most impactful upgrade for improved Skill uptime and energy. C6 is powerful but not essential. C0 Ororon works well in all the teams listed above without issue.
Ororon Ascension Materials
To fully ascend Ororon from Level 1 to Level 90, you need the following:
- Vajrada Amethyst (Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, Gemstone) – Dropped by various Electro bosses including the Electro Hypostasis, Electro Regisvine, Thunder Manifestation, Raiden Shogun weekly boss, Azhdaha, and others.
- Mark of the Binding Blessing – Dropped by the Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant boss, located in the Basin of Unnumbered Flames underground area of Huitztli Hill in Natlan. Spend 40 Original Resin to claim rewards. You need 46 total.
- Glowing Hornshroom – A local specialty introduced in Version 5.2. Found in Natlan, primarily around the Masters of the Night-Wind headquarters, north of Ochkanatlan, and in nearby underground areas. You need 168 total. They regrow every two to three days.
- Saurian Fangs (Juvenile Fang, Seasoned Fang, Tyrant’s Fang) – Dropped by Saurian enemies scattered throughout Natlan. Farm them while exploring the region naturally.
Ororon Talent Materials
To fully upgrade all three of Ororon’s talents, you need:
- Teachings, Guide, and Philosophies of Kindling – Obtained from the Blazing Ruins domain in Natlan (Coatepec Mountain area) on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
- Saurian Fangs (all three tiers) – The same drops as his ascension material. Farm Saurians in Natlan for both ascension and talent needs simultaneously.
- Lightless Silk String – A weekly boss drop from defeating the All-Devouring Narwhal, located in the underwater region of Salacia Plain in Fontaine. This boss is unlocked by completing the Masquerade of the Guilty Archon Quest, or via Quick Challenge in your Handbook. You need 18 total across all talents.
- Crown of Insight – Required to max any talent to level 10. Obtained from limited events and special offerings.
Since Ororon’s 1st Ascension Passive (Hypersense) doesn’t scale with talent level but does scale with character level, prioritize reaching Level 90 as soon as possible. Then focus talent investment on his Elemental Skill and Burst in that order.
Ororon vs Fischl – Which Off-Field Electro Should You Use?
This is the most common question players ask when building an Electro-Charged or Taser team. Here is an honest comparison:
- Fischl has better single-target Electro application and is more versatile across a wider range of team types, including Superconduct, Aggravate, and Overloaded. Her Oz stays on field reliably and generates more Electro particles.
- Ororon has stronger AoE Electro application through his Hypersense follow-ups and the Psionic Eye taunt. He also has a team ATK buff at higher constellation levels and benefits uniquely from the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set, making him a hybrid buffer and damage dealer.
- In Natlan-focused teams with Nightsoul mechanics, Ororon is the clearly better choice. In general Taser teams outside of Natlan, Fischl is still the safer all-rounder pick.
- They can also be run together in the same team (double Electro off-field) for maximum Electro application, leaving room for a Hydro character and a support or healer.
Should You Pull for Ororon?
Ororon is a great 4-star pick for players who run Electro-Charged or Taser teams and want a Natlan-native Electro unit. He is especially valuable if you use characters like Chasca, Clorinde, Neuvillette, or Ayato who benefit from his off-field Electro application and his ATK buff passive.
He is worth pulling if you:
- Want a strong off-field Electro unit for Taser or Electro-Charged teams.
- Play Natlan characters who deal Nightsoul-aligned damage.
- Need a character who provides both damage and the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City team buff.
- Want an alternative to Fischl with better AoE performance and a built-in taunt.
He is less essential if you already have a well-built Fischl and don’t play Natlan content. He is also a bit more team-dependent than Fischl, requiring consistent Electro-Charged triggers to get full value from his Hypersense passive.

Ororon Quick Tips
- Always use his Elemental Skill before his Burst in your rotation. The Skill triggers his Nightsoul state, which activates the Hypersense passive that fires follow-up shots throughout the rotation.
- The Psionic Eye taunt from his Burst is underrated. It pulls enemy attention away from your active character, which is very useful in difficult content where enemies focus your DPS.
- His Hypersense passive can hit up to four enemies at once. He gets much stronger in multi-enemy AoE situations compared to single-target fights.
- Reach Level 90 as a priority. His Hypersense damage scales directly with his character level and ATK stat, so max ascension is more impactful on him than most other supports.
- Pair him with at least one Hydro character to guarantee consistent Electro-Charged triggers. Without Hydro, his Hypersense passive fires far less frequently and loses most of its value.
- When using the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set, make sure Ororon stays in a team with other Natlan characters or Nightsoul-aligned attackers to activate the buff properly.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ororon
Is Ororon good in Genshin Impact?
Yes. Ororon is a solid 4-star Electro Sub-DPS who excels in Electro-Charged and Taser teams. His Hypersense passive provides strong AoE off-field Electro damage, and his 4th Ascension Passive buffs the active character’s ATK. He is especially strong in Natlan-focused teams and works well as an alternative or complement to Fischl.
What is the best artifact for Ororon?
The 4-piece Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is his best artifact set. It allows him to buff the team’s Elemental DMG through Nightsoul-aligned mechanics while also dealing off-field damage. Thundering Fury and Emblem of Severed Fate are good alternatives depending on your team setup.
What is the best weapon for Ororon?
Elegy for the End is his best 5-star option thanks to its high ATK, Energy Recharge, and team-wide buff passive. Among 4-star options, The Stringless is a clean choice for unconditional Skill and Burst DMG boost. The Favonius Warbow is great for energy support in team-first builds.
How does Ororon’s Hypersense passive work?
After using his Elemental Skill, for the next 15 seconds, every time a teammate triggers Electro-Charged or deals Nightsoul-aligned damage, Ororon fires a follow-up Electro shot hitting up to four enemies. This shot deals damage equal to 160% of his ATK. It can trigger once every 0.3 seconds and up to 10 times per window. This passive is the core of his damage output and works fully from off-field.
Is Ororon better than Fischl?
It depends on the team. Fischl has more versatility and works in more team types including Superconduct, Aggravate, and general Electro setups. Ororon has stronger AoE output, a unique team taunt, and is better in Natlan Nightsoul teams. They can also run together for double Electro off-field coverage.
How do I get Ororon in Genshin Impact?
