Who Is Xilonen in Genshin Impact?

Xilonen is a 5-star Geo Sword character from Natlan, the Nation of Pyro in Genshin Impact. She was introduced in Version 5.1 and is a Name Engraver of the Nanatzcayan — the blacksmithing guild of the Children of Echoes tribe, which also includes Kachina. Lore-wise, Xilonen is an exceptionally skilled blacksmith and warrior who bears the Ancient Name of BRK (Baraka). She is known for being one of the finest craftswomen in Natlan and a Leopard Cat warrior — fierce, warm-hearted, and deeply respected by those around her.

Off the battlefield, Xilonen is famously laid-back, often found napping in the sun between forging sessions. At the anvil, however, she is relentless. Her rollerskates are not just for style — they are part of her combat system, enabling her unique Blade Roller mode where she speeds across the battlefield dealing DEF-scaling Geo damage at high velocity. Xilonen Skills and Abilities

Normal Attack – Ehecatl’s Roar

Xilonen performs up to 3 rapid sword strikes in her standard form. Her Charged Attack consumes stamina to perform a forward kick dealing DMG. Her Plunging Attack drops from mid-air dealing AoE DMG. In support builds these are rarely used outside of Nightsoul’s Blessing. When in Nightsoul’s Blessing: Blade Roller mode, normal attacks change entirely — she performs up to 4 roller blade kicks that deal Nightsoul-aligned Geo DMG based on her DEF instead of ATK, and Charged Attacks are disabled in this mode.

Elemental Skill – Yohual’s Scratch

This is the heart of Xilonen’s kit and the ability that makes her one of the most impactful supports in the game. When Xilonen uses her Skill, she switches to high-speed combat blading gear and dashes forward, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Geo DMG based on her DEF. She then gains 45 Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing: Blade Roller state.

Alongside this, Xilonen’s 3 Source Samplers activate. The Samplers work as follows:

• Each Sampler starts with a Geo type by default.
• For each party member whose element is Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro, one Geo Sampler converts to that element’s type.
• When a Sampler’s element type is active, nearby enemies’ corresponding Elemental RES is reduced. This RES shred scales with Xilonen’s Elemental Skill talent level.
• The maximum RES shred is approximately 35–36% per element at high talent levels.
• Source Samples of the same element cannot stack — each element can only be shredded once.
• Xilonen can trigger Source Sample effects even when off-field, meaning the RES shred remains active after she swaps away.

While in Nightsoul’s Blessing, Xilonen continuously consumes Nightsoul points. If she has at least 2 Source Samples that have had their elemental types changed:

• She plays an Ebullient rhythm — healing nearby active characters at intervals based on her DEF.
• When her Normal or Plunging Attacks hit opponents, she regains 35 Nightsoul points (once every 0.1s).

If she has fewer than 2 changed Source Samples (for example in a Geo-heavy team), she plays an Ardent rhythm instead, firing additional Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG beats based on her DEF.

Elemental Burst – Overflowing Loamwater

Xilonen’s Burst has two simultaneous functions:

• Healing: Heals the active character for a large amount based on Xilonen’s DEF and her Healing Bonus. This is a big single-target heal that can fully top up most characters.
• Source Sample Re-activation: Triggers another full cycle of her Source Samples, re-applying the corresponding elemental RES shred to enemies. This gives a second wave of shredding in the same rotation, keeping enemy resistances reduced for longer.

The Burst also applies a Geo Nightsoul Burst effect that interacts with the Nightsoul Burst mechanics of Natlan team compositions.

Xilonen Passive Talents

A1 Passive – Netotiliztli’s Echoes

While Xilonen is in Nightsoul’s Blessing and the Ebullient rhythm is playing (at least 2 changed Source Samples), she can regenerate Nightsoul points. When her Nightsoul points reach maximum, she consumes all of them and activates all 3 Source Samples simultaneously for 15 seconds. This is what makes Xilonen’s RES shred self-sustaining — by landing Normal Attacks in Blade Roller mode, she continuously tops up her Nightsoul bar and re-triggers the Sampler effect automatically, without needing to manually use the Skill again. This passive effectively extends her Sampler uptime and reduces rotation friction significantly.

A4 Passive – Symphonic Revelation

When Xilonen’s Source Samples activate, all nearby party members gain a Blooming Blessing effect. Characters with Blooming Blessing deal additional Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG equal to a portion of Xilonen’s DEF. This passive adds a flat DMG bonus to the on-field DPS’s attacks that scales with Xilonen’s DEF, providing yet another reason to invest in her DEF stat beyond just healing. It applies to a wide range of attack types, making it useful for almost any Main DPS character.

Utility Passive – Phlogiston Restoration

When Natlan team members trigger Nightsoul Transmission, Xilonen restores Phlogiston to them. This exploration passive makes her a helpful addition to Natlan exploration parties, keeping characters like Kinich and Mualani running at full Nightsoul capacity for longer without stopping to replenish. She also gains increased climbing speed and can perform high-speed Ocelot Form leaps while climbing during Nightsoul’s Blessing, making her excellent for vertical exploration in Natlan’s mountainous terrain.

Xilonen Constellations Guide

Xilonen is powerful at C0, but her constellations add very significant team utility. C2 in particular is one of the most impactful constellations for a support character in the game.

C1 – Coatl’s Wash

When Xilonen triggers the Source Sample activation via her A1 passive (Netotiliztli’s Echoes), she will restore 8 Energy. This can occur once every second. This directly addresses one of Xilonen’s main pain points — her high Energy Recharge requirement. C1 makes it significantly easier to use her Burst more regularly, which improves both her healing frequency and the frequency of the Burst’s secondary Source Sample re-activation. C1 is a solid quality-of-life constellation that meaningfully reduces how much ER she needs in her build.

C2 – Sunken Song of the Sands

This is Xilonen’s most impactful constellation by a wide margin. It has two major effects:

• Xilonen’s Geo Source Sample will always remain active, even without fulfilling the 2-changed-Sample condition. This allows her to shred Geo RES at all times, enabling her to support Geo DPS characters (like Navia or Arataki Itto) while also providing RES shred for other elements simultaneously. It also allows her to participate meaningfully in Triple Geo teams.
• When her Source Samples activate, all nearby party members gain buffs based on their element matching an active Source Sample: Geo: +50% DMG dealt. Pyro: +45% ATK. Hydro: +45% Max HP. Cryo: +60% CRIT DMG. Electro: Restores 25 Energy and reduces Elemental Burst CD by 6 seconds.

These element-specific buffs are enormous. A Pyro DPS receives a 45% ATK bonus on top of all the other team buffs. A Hydro DPS like Neuvillette receives 45% Max HP. A Cryo DPS gets 60% CRIT DMG. An Electro character restores 25 Energy and shortens their cooldown. Any of these numbers alone would make C2 worth considering — all of them together make it one of the best constellations in the game for a support character. C2 is the strongly recommended stopping point for serious Xilonen investment.

C3 – Skill Level Upgrade

Increases the Level of Yohual’s Scratch (Elemental Skill) by 3, up to a maximum of Level 15. Directly raises her RES shred percentage and healing output during Nightsoul’s Blessing.

C4 – Blooming Blessing

After Xilonen uses Yohual’s Scratch, all nearby party members gain the Blooming Blessing effect for 15 seconds. Characters with Blooming Blessing deal additional Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG equal to 65% of Xilonen’s DEF. This effect can trigger up to 6 times before expiring (or when the duration ends). If an attack hits multiple enemies simultaneously, multiple trigger counts are consumed based on the number of enemies hit. This constellation converts Xilonen’s DEF investment directly into a meaningful flat DMG buff for the on-field DPS’s attacks.

C5 – Burst Level Upgrade

Increases the Level of Overflowing Loamwater (Elemental Burst) by 3, up to a maximum of Level 15. Raises the HP scaling and Healing Bonus effectiveness of her Burst heal.

C6 – Fires of the Forge

At C6, Xilonen becomes a considerably more capable on-field DPS. Her Nightsoul-aligned attacks in Blade Roller mode gain massively increased multipliers, she heals teammates when hitting enemies, and her personal Geo damage output rises substantially. C6 opens a legitimate on-field DPS playstyle for dedicated players. However, C6 is widely considered whale territory — the jump from C2 to C6 is extremely expensive for the incremental team support gain, as C2 already delivers most of her value as a support.

Xilonen Best Build – Artifacts

Best Artifact Set – 4-Piece Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City

This is Xilonen’s best-in-slot artifact set and one of the most powerful support sets in the game. The 4-piece effect works as follows: after the equipping character triggers a reaction related to their element, all nearby party members gain a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the relevant elements for 15 seconds. If the equipping character is in Nightsoul’s Blessing when triggering this effect, the bonus increases to a total of 40% Elemental DMG Bonus for 20 seconds. Since Xilonen is in Nightsoul’s Blessing whenever she uses her Skill and stays in Blade Roller mode, she can consistently trigger the full 40% bonus for the whole team. This is a universal buff that applies to every elemental DPS and stacks multiplicatively with her RES shred, making the combined damage increase enormous. This set is obtained from the Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits domain in Natlan.

Alternative – 4-Piece Noblesse Oblige

If another teammate is already carrying Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, Noblesse Oblige is Xilonen’s next best option. Its 4-piece bonus increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12 seconds after using the Burst. The buff has reasonable uptime if Xilonen uses her Burst regularly. Only one copy of Noblesse’s 4-piece bonus applies per team, so check your team first.

Alternative – 4-Piece Tenacity of the Millelith

Provides HP% for Xilonen (slightly helping her healing since it scales DEF not HP, but usable) and a team-wide 20% ATK buff when the off-field character’s Skill hits an enemy. Since Xilonen’s Source Samplers activate off-field, this can have good uptime. A solid general buffer option.

Xilonen Best Weapons

1. Peak Patrol Song (5-Star) – Best in Slot

Xilonen’s signature weapon and her clear best option. It provides a large DEF% substat and a passive called “Ode to Flowers” that stacks DEF and All Elemental DMG Bonus after Normal or Plunging Attacks hit an opponent. When 2 stacks are reached, it grants the entire team an Elemental DMG Bonus based on Xilonen’s DEF — up to a substantial bonus at high DEF values. This weapon simultaneously solves her DEF threshold requirements, provides personal DMG bonuses, and buffs the entire team. The team buff alone makes this weapon transformative for her support role.

2. Favonius Sword (4-Star) – Best Accessible Option

Favonius Sword provides Energy Recharge as a substat and generates Elemental Particles for the whole team on CRIT hits. This weapon directly addresses Xilonen’s most important stat need (ER) and benefits the entire team by reducing their own Energy requirements. A CRIT Rate Circlet or sufficient CRIT Rate substats help trigger the passive reliably. This is the most recommended weapon for C0 players and those without the signature weapon.

3. Primordial Jade Cutter (5-Star)

Provides CRIT Rate and a passive that grants ATK based on Max HP. While Xilonen does not scale on ATK, the CRIT Rate substat is valuable for triggering Favonius-like interactions and for hybrid DPS builds. A solid premium option if available and not needed on another character.

4. Mistsplitter Reforged (5-Star)

Provides CRIT DMG and an Elemental DMG Bonus stacking passive. Works better in hybrid builds where Xilonen is dealing personal Geo damage, but is less impactful for pure support builds than Peak Patrol Song or Favonius Sword.

5. Sapwood Blade (4-Star, Craftable)

A craftable sword providing Energy Recharge and a passive that generates Leaf of Consciousness on Dendro-related reactions, granting the holder and nearby characters EM. Less relevant for Xilonen’s primary function but works as a budget ER option if Favonius Sword is occupied. Any craftable ER sword works here as a temporary placeholder.

6. Fleuve Cendre Ferryman (4-Star)

A Fontaine craftable sword providing Energy Recharge, a passive that boosts Elemental Skill CRIT Rate, and Energy restoration after using the Skill. Good for solving Xilonen’s ER needs while adding a small CRIT Rate bonus that helps with Favonius Sword-style particle generation if you eventually switch weapons.

Xilonen Best Teams

Xilonen fits into virtually every team that deals Elemental DMG from Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro. Her RES shred, Scroll buffs, and healing make her one of the most universally applicable 5-star supports in the game. The only teams where she provides less value are pure Anemo or Dendro teams, since her Samplers cannot shred those elements. Mavuika Premium Hypercarry – Best Performing Team

This is considered one of the strongest team compositions in the game. Mavuika as the Pyro Archon DPS deals enormous frontloaded Pyro damage. Xilonen’s Pyro Sampler shreds Pyro RES by up to 36%, and her Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City provides an additional 40% Elemental DMG Bonus for the team. At C2, Xilonen additionally grants Mavuika +45% ATK from the Pyro element buff. Citlali contributes Cryo for Melt reactions and additional buffs. Bennett provides ATK buff and healing support. Together, Xilonen and the team maximize every multiplier available to Mavuika.

Neuvillette Hypercarry Team

Xilonen can replace Baizhu or Zhongli in Neuvillette’s team. She provides Hydro RES shred (which Baizhu and Zhongli do not), the Scroll 40% Elemental DMG Bonus, and reliable healing. Xilonen shreds Hydro RES and provides the Scroll Elemental DMG Bonus while also healing. Xiangling’s Pyronado maintains off-field Pyro for Vaporize reactions on Mualani’s Hydro attacks.

Arlecchino Vaporize Team

Where to Get Xilonen’s Ascension Materials

Brilliant Chrysanthemum is Xilonen’s Natlan local specialty. The majority of spawn points are found near the Stadium of the Sacred Flame at Huitztli Hill in Natlan. Additional clusters appear around the Atocpan area. Use the in-game “Go to Collect” feature or follow a dedicated farming route to gather all 168 efficiently — spawn points respawn on the standard 48-hour timer.

Gold-Inscribed Secret Source Core is dropped by the Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device, a world boss found in an underwater cave west of Toyac Springs in Natlan, near the People of the Springs tribe. This is the same boss that drops ascension materials for Lan Yan and Kachina. The boss creates tall pillars during the fight — bring a character with vertical mobility like Kazuha, Venti, or a Nightsoul climbing character to navigate the arena effectively. The boss also drops Vajrada Amethyst, so expect to farm Prithiva Topaz from Geo-affiliated bosses separately.

Tribe Warrior Whistles (Sentry’s Wooden Whistle, Warrior’s Metal Whistle, Saurian-Crowned Warrior’s Golden Whistle) are dropped by Sauroform Tribal Warriors found all across Natlan. These enemies are very common throughout the region. Higher-level Sauroform Warriors drop the rarer whistle tiers. They are easy to farm alongside the Saurian Fangs needed for other Natlan characters.

Prithiva Topaz gems can be obtained from Geo-related World Bosses such as the Geo Hypostasis, the Primo Geovishap, and various Geo-affiliated weekly bosses. Use Dust of Azoth at the Alchemy Bench to convert other gem types into Prithiva Topaz if needed.

Mirror of Mushin is Xilonen’s weekly boss drop — notably an unusual choice for a Natlan character. It is obtained by defeating the Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom (the Scaramouche/Shouki no Kami weekly boss) in the Joururi Workshop domain in Sumeru. This boss is accessible after completing the relevant Sumeru Archon Quest or through Quick Challenge in the Adventurer Handbook. Xilonen Talent Upgrade Priority

• 1st Priority: Elemental Skill – Yohual’s Scratch. Her RES shred percentage scales directly with Skill talent level. Leveling this is the single most important talent upgrade for her support role. Always max this first.
• 2nd Priority: Elemental Burst – Overflowing Loamwater. The Burst controls her healing output and the frequency of Source Sample re-activation. Level this second for stronger heals and better rotation flexibility.
• 3rd Priority: Normal Attack – Ehecatl’s Roar. Only relevant for C6 on-field DPS builds. In support builds, this can be left at Level 1 entirely.

Note: Leveling her Skill talent does NOT increase her DEF scaling or Blooming Blessing flat DMG from A4 — those are fixed multipliers. Only the RES shred percentage itself scales with Skill talent level. This is why Skill must be leveled despite not directly boosting her raw numbers as visibly as other characters.

How Xilonen’s Source Sampler System Works

Understanding the Sampler system is key to getting full value from Xilonen:

• Xilonen carries 3 Samplers. By default, all 3 are Geo type.
• Each non-Geo, non-Anemo, non-Dendro party member converts one Sampler to their element. A team of Pyro, Hydro, and Cryo would convert all 3 Samplers to those elements, giving Xilonen zero Geo Samplers.
• When the Samplers are activated (via Skill or A1 passive), the corresponding elemental RES of nearby enemies is reduced — up to ~36% per element at high Skill levels.
• This RES reduction is comparable to the Viridescent Venerer RES shred (40%), making Xilonen competitive with Kazuha and Sucrose as an elemental resistance debuffer.
• Unlike Viridescent Venerer, Xilonen can shred up to 3 elements simultaneously and does not require a specific Swirl to trigger each shred separately. This is her major advantage over Anemo supports in mixed-element teams.
• At C2, the Geo Sampler is always active regardless of conditions, enabling Geo RES shred even in full-element conversion teams.
