It looks like a sleek mechanical dragon with a dark metallic body, glowing accents, sharp claws, and menacing wings — part alien, part mecha, all threat. It is a Dark and Dragon dual-type, which gives it a double weakness to Ice and also takes extra damage from Dragon-type attacks.

How to Unlock the Summoning Altar

Before you can fight Xenolord, you need a Summoning Altar at your base. This structure unlocks at Technology Level 33 and costs 3 Ancient Technology Points to unlock. To build one you need 100 Stone and 20 Paldium Fragments. Keep in mind that Summoning Altars are single-use — each raid attempt consumes the altar, so build a new one before every attempt. How to Get the Xenolord Slab

To summon Xenolord, you need a Xenolord Slab. You craft it at a workbench using 4 Xenolord Slab Fragments. Getting those fragments is the main grind before the fight even starts.

Method 1: Pal Expeditions (Best Method)

The most efficient way to get Xenolord Slab Fragments is to send Pals on high-risk expeditions using the Pal Expedition Station. Three expeditions have Xenolord Slab Fragments in their reward pool:

• Celestial Sakura Cavern (High Risk) — 1 hour, 375,000 Firepower recommended, Water-type Pals preferred
• Dark Cave of Feybreak (High Risk) — 1 hour, 476,000 Firepower recommended, Dark-type Pals preferred
• Sunreach Isle (High Risk) — 1 hour, 579,000 Firepower recommended, Dragon-type Pals preferred

The Dark Cave of Feybreak is the most reliable target. To unlock it, you need to beat Bjorn, the boss inside Feybreak Tower. The more Firepower you bring above the recommended score, the higher your reward drop chance. Always check the right panel of the Pal Expedition menu to confirm Xenolord Slab Fragments are in the reward pool before sending. The expedition also rewards Ancient Civilization Cores as a bonus, making it well worth the time.

Method 2: Feybreak Island Dungeons

If your Pals do not yet meet the Firepower requirements for high-risk expeditions, you can explore dungeons on Feybreak Island instead. Chests inside those dungeons have a small chance to drop a Xenolord Slab Fragment. You can also check chests near Alpha Pal arenas in the area. This method is slower and relies on RNG, but it works if you are not yet at expedition-tier Pal strength.

Once you have all 4 Slab Fragments, take them to any advanced workbench to craft the Xenolord Slab.

How to Summon Xenolord

With the Xenolord Slab in your inventory, head to your Summoning Altar and place the slab inside it. You will get two options:

• Raid Area — teleports you to a dedicated arena away from your base. This is the recommended option as it keeps your base structures safe.
• Base — the fight happens at your base. Only choose this if you have strong defenses set up and do not mind risking structure damage from Xenolord’s attacks.

The Raid Area is safer and gives you a cleaner battlefield to move around in. Build your Summoning Altar and Palbox in a wide open area if you do choose the base option — Xenolord targets the Palbox with its Cosmic Meteor attack, which actually works in your favor by drawing its aggression away from you.

How to Beat Xenolord: Best Strategy

Exploit the Weakness

Xenolord is weak to both Ice and Dragon damage due to its Dark and Dragon dual-typing. Build your entire party around these two types. You can bring up to 15 Pals into the raid, so fill those slots with your strongest Ice and Dragon Pals. This is not a fight to bring experimental builds — bring your best.

Best Pals to Use

The top picks for this raid are:

• Frostallion — the best combat mount option for Xenolord. Its Partner Skill converts your damage type to Ice and increases Attack by 40%. Stack Moldron Crysts and Foxcicles in the party to amplify this further.
• Jetragon — excellent as a mount to stay mobile and dodge Xenolord’s wide AoE attacks while your party Pals deal damage. Its Dragon attacks also hit for type advantage.
• Bastigor — strong damage dealer to fill remaining party slots.
• Herbil — bring at least one Herbil. Its passive acts as a free revive, letting you continue the raid if you get knocked out mid-fight.

Best Passive Skills for Your Pals

Passive skills make a significant difference in how fast and how safely you clear this raid. Aim to have your Pals carrying some combination of these:

• Musclehead — raises Pal damage by 30%. High priority for damage dealers.

How to Get Your Own Xenolord

Once you defeat Xenolord, a Huge Dark Egg is automatically added to your inventory. Take it back to your base and place it in an Egg Incubator to hatch it. The egg will hatch into a Xenolord that you can keep, train, and ride.

To ride Xenolord, you need the Xenolord Saddle, which unlocks at Technology Level 60. The saddle recipe requires Leather x30, Dark Fragment x50, Meteor Fragment x30, and Paldium Fragment x200. Once saddled up, Xenolord’s Meteor Wings Partner Skill activates — giving you a massive airborne speed boost that puts it just behind Jetragon among the fastest Pal mounts in Palworld.
