How to Unlock The Stone Beasts Like Ghouls Seated

This quest starts automatically right after you complete the first subquest, To Gaze Upon the Dreaming Pale Crown. There is nothing extra to trigger. As soon as you arrive at the Pale Crown Palace exterior, unlock the Teleport Waypoint there, and the quest begins. You are already in the right place — just keep following the objectives.

How to Enter the Pale Crown Palace

Walk up to the palace’s front doors and you will immediately notice they are completely sealed with ice. You cannot enter from the front. Instead, follow the Eye of Graeae as it leads you along the outer wall to an alternate opening. The opening has a Prime Ice Construct blocking it — remove it using your build menu, then head through and climb the stairs to enter the palace.

Open the Palace Gates — Griffin Statue Puzzle

Before you can get to the Frozen Royal Hall, you need to open the outer palace gates. You will see a set of griffin-style statues and blue pressure plates on the ground nearby. The solution is simple:

• Place a Cube Prime Ice Construct on each blue pressure plate to unlock the statues.
• Push each griffin statue until it aligns with the central platform.
• Once both statues are correctly positioned, the outer palace gates open.

On your way inside, collect the rifle ammo from the chest outside the palace entrance. Switch into third-person shooter mode and use the rifle to take down the flying enemies blocking the doorway. After they are down, place a Basic Heat Source to melt the ice blocking the doorway. Go through and open the Exquisite Chest inside before continuing. Frozen Royal Hall — Shoot the Kresnik’s Torch and Clear Enemies

Once you are through the doorway, head up the stairs to enter the Frozen Royal Hall. Look up at the ceiling and you will see the Prototype Kresnik’s Torch hanging there. Shoot the crystal ore on the torch to activate it and switch it into Heat State. This melts the ice in the room but also summons a group of enemies. Clear every enemy in the area before doing anything else.

After the fight, walk to the throne in the middle of the hall and place the Eye of Graeae on the port. While you are at the throne, grab the Firearm Blueprint sitting on the giant chair — this gives you the Gunsight accessory, and it is easy to miss.

Find a Way to Open the Door to the Royal Hall

The door at the back of the Frozen Royal Hall is sealed. The Eye of Graeae tells you that two statues need to be returned to their original positions to open it. Go back down the stairs and swim through the opening on the right. You will find Room A and Room B, each holding one Statue of the Cemetery Guardian.

The short version: shoot the Prototype Kresnik’s Torch to switch to Cold State, use Basic Heat Sources to melt frozen pillars and drop each statue, place Cube Prime Ice Constructs to steer each statue across the ice, and push both statues through their exit holes to the lower floor. Once both statues are on their marked squares, a cutscene plays and the door opens.

Continue Onward and Find the Way Up

Go through the now-open door at the back of the Royal Hall. Walk forward into the hallway. When you try to cross the bridge ahead, it immediately collapses. To find the way up, look for the blue sparkle diamond sigils in the air. Use the grappling hooks and sigils to cross the gap and get to the other side. Climb the stairs after crossing.

Place a Cube Prime Ice Construct on the pressure plate near the lift mechanism and shoot the mechanism to activate the lift. This sends the platform up. Clear the monsters that appear in the area. Look around the upper floor for a Common Chest before moving on, then activate the lift to climb higher.

Check the Suspended Tower

After riding up in the lift, you will arrive at a Teleport Waypoint near the Suspended Tower. Activate it — this is an important fast travel point for this area. You will also see another Prototype Kresnik’s Torch here. Paimon notes it looks familiar from the Royal Hall. This is where the Suspended Tower section begins.

How to Melt the Solid Ice and Pass Through the Suspended Tower

This section trips up a lot of players. Here is exactly what to do, step by step.

Step 1: Rotate the Suspended Tower

Find the rotation mechanism for the Suspended Tower and interact with it to rotate the tower. You are rotating it to bring the heat pipe into the correct position so it can melt the ice blocking the path ahead. Keep rotating until the heat pipe lines up and starts melting the ice in front of you.

Step 2: Shoot the Prototype Kresnik’s Torch to Heat State

Shoot the Prototype Kresnik’s Torch to switch it to Heat State. This melts the ice and snow around you and opens up the path. Keep moving forward through the tower until you see a door ahead that you cannot open. The problem is that the switch controlling the door is frozen underwater.

Step 3: Plug the Leaking Pipe

Look around for the source of the problem. The Eye of Graeae detects a heat leakage nearby. You will find a leaking pipe in the area that is preventing the heat from doing its job. Open your Prime Ice Construct build menu and place a Cube Prime Ice Construct directly on the leaking pipe to plug it. Once the pipe is sealed, the heat from the Kresnik’s Torch can now melt the ice covering the door switch.

Step 4: Cross the Bridges and Pass Through

With the leak plugged and the ice melted, the door switch becomes usable. Interact with the mechanism to open the door. Cross the connected bridges to get to the other side of the Kresnik’s Torch tower. Continue forward. You have now passed through the Suspended Tower.

What to Do If You Get Stuck

• If the path ahead is still frozen after shooting the torch, check if the tower is fully rotated to the correct position. An incomplete rotation means the heat pipe is not aligned.
• If the door switch remains frozen even after you plugged the pipe, make sure the Prototype Kresnik’s Torch is in Heat State, not Cold State.
• If you accidentally remove the Cube from the pipe, replace it and wait a moment for the heat to catch up.

Go Somewhere Higher Up — Find a Way to Open the Gates

After passing through the Suspended Tower, continue following the quest markers upward. Use the lift on the other side to ascend further. You can fight the newly spawned enemies here or ignore them and immediately grapple to the diamond sigils to reach the other side of the broken bridge. After crossing, climb the stairs.

You will encounter another statue puzzle at this level. It works the same way as the earlier ones. Here is how to solve it:

• Find the statue in the area. The objective is to push it onto its pedestal.
• Interact with the tower rotation mechanism to rotate the tower until the heat pipe is in position, melting the ice blocking the statue’s path.
• Rotate the tower again to remove the heat pipe. This freezes things back, but the obstacle ice is now gone.
• With the path clear, push the statue toward the pedestal and place it correctly.

Ride Up in the Elevator and Fight Zver

With the gate open, ride the elevator behind it to ascend to the top level. As soon as you reach the upper section, a cutscene triggers. Zver — the creature from the memory you witnessed in the Royal Hall — appears and attacks. This is a full boss fight in third-person shooter mode.

How to Beat Zver

Zver is a flying boss, so it stays airborne throughout the fight. The space on the tower is very limited, which makes dodging tricky.

• Target and shoot Zver’s Anemo Orbs to deal damage. These are the glowing orbs it carries or projects during the fight.
• Time your dodges carefully. Zver moves fast and the platform gives you very little room to work with.
• Use grappling hooks when needed to reposition yourself on the tower if you get pushed to the edge.
• Fire whenever you have a clear shot. Accuracy matters more than speed here.

After dealing enough damage, a dialogue scene triggers and Zver can be spoken to. The conversation ends the combat phase. You can use the Shadow Wingdrop mechanic during exploration in Snezhnaya to build up combat stamina before tough fights like this one.

Go to Hvergelmir and Obtain the Eye of Graeae Part

After the Zver fight and the dialogue that follows, use the Link Mechanism to travel to Hvergelmir — the highest ruined tower on the other side. Use the grappling hooks to reach it. Inside Hvergelmir, climb to the top of the ruins in the center of the room and retrieve the part of the Eye of Graeae’s body.

Picking it up triggers a final dialogue between the Traveler, Paimon, and the Eye of Graeae. Once the conversation ends, the quest is complete.
