All Beacon Locations in Mortal Shell 2 – Complete Guide (All 49)

Beacon Locations in Mortal Shell 2

    TL;DR

    • There are 49 total Beacons in Mortal Shell 2, but only 46 can be cleansed — the other 3 (Marrow Keep, Widow’s Overlook, Outskirts of Mammon) are already cleansed when you find them.
    • The Week 1 Patch (August 29, 2026) added new Beacons throughout Fainweald and Mammon — these are daytime-only and only activate during the day. If you played at launch, revisit both regions to find them.
    • No Beacon is missable — you can return in free-roam after the final boss and clean up any you skipped before entering New Game+.
    • Cleansing all cleansable Beacons earns the So Fresh, So Clean achievement and the Bring My Ova Back to Me achievement.
    • Post-boss Beacons inside Corrupted Gates give 26 Ova each — the single most efficient Ova source in the game.
    • Standard overworld Beacons give 1 Ova each, Gate-adjacent Beacons give 3 Ova each.
    • Unlocking Mether’s Breath — the full fast travel system — requires siphoning around 8 Ova at the Gloom Siphon in Marrow Keep.

Beacons are the backbone of exploration in Mortal Shell 2. They are your checkpoints, your respawn points, your fast travel nodes, your leveling stations, and the source of every Ova in the game. Finding and cleansing all of them is required for two achievements and builds your full travel network across both regions. This guide covers every Beacon location, organized by area, along with what each one gives you and how to find the trickier ones. It has been updated to reflect the Week 1 Patch (August 29, 2026), which added new daytime-only Beacons throughout Fainweald and Mammon.

Before hunting every Beacon, make sure you have Mether’s Breath unlocked so you can travel freely. Our guide on how to fast travel in Mortal Shell 2 explains exactly how to get it. And if you want to know what to do with the Ova you collect, our guide on how to level up and use Gloom in Mortal Shell 2 covers how the Gloom Siphon and Harbinger progression work together.

Beacon Basics – What You Need to Know

Every Beacon in Mortal Shell 2 does the following when you interact with it:

    • Restores your Health and Resolve fully
    • Refills your Health Flask charges
    • Sets your current respawn point
    • Respawns all nearby regular enemies (bosses stay dead)

Cleansed Beacons also give you access to the full menu — including level up, gear swap, Shell Point allocation, and Mether’s Breath fast travel. Most Beacons start corrupted and must be cleansed by entering the Beacon dungeon, clearing the enemies inside (sometimes a miniboss), and collecting the Ovum at the end.

Three Beacons arrive already cleansed: Marrow Keep, Widow’s Overlook, and Outskirts of Mammon. That is why the achievement tracker shows 46 rather than 49 — only 46 can actually be cleansed by the player.

The Week 1 Patch added new Beacons across both Fainweald and Mammon. These new additions are daytime-only — they only activate during the day, so if you are playing in Night Mode you will need to switch back to find and cleanse them. If you completed these regions at launch, return to check for any newly appeared Beacons you may have walked past.

    Ova Rewards Per Beacon Type

    • Standard overworld Beacons — 1 Ova each
    • Beacons near Corrupted Gates (Gate-adjacent) — 3 Ova each
    • Post-boss Beacons inside Corrupted Gates — 26 Ova each
    • Pre-cleansed Beacons — 0 Ova (Marrow Keep, Widow’s Overlook, Outskirts of Mammon)

The 26 Ova from post-boss Beacons means clearing a single Corrupted Gate hands you more Ova in one go than cleansing a dozen standard Beacons. If your only goal is unlocking Mether’s Breath quickly, focusing on Gate-adjacent Beacons and one Corrupted Gate boss is the fastest path. Note that the Gloom Siphon in Marrow Keep now also awards additional rewards including Glimpses as of the Week 1 Patch, making each Ova deposit more valuable than at launch.

All Beacon Locations – Prologue Area

These two Beacons are in the tutorial section before Marrow Keep. They remain available for fast travel throughout the whole game.

    • Village Outskirts Beacon — Found on the main path during the prologue. Cleansing it enters the Overgrown Temple dungeon. Standard Beacon, gives 1 Ova.
    • Disciple’s Grotto Beacon — Found deeper in the prologue path, before the Tar Golem fight. Cleanse before moving on — it is easy to miss and cannot be returned to the same way once you leave the prologue section without fast travel set up.

All Beacon Locations – Marrow Keep (Hub)

The Marrow Keep Beacon is at the center of the hub. It is pre-cleansed and always accessible. It gives no Ova. This is where you level up your Harbinger, talk to NPCs, and access the Gloom Siphon to deposit Ova and unlock Mether’s Breath. As of the Week 1 Patch, the Gloom Siphon now also rewards Glimpses alongside its normal output when you deposit Ova, so visit it regularly.

All Beacon Locations – Fainweald (Overworld)

Fainweald is the first open region and contains the majority of the early game Beacons. There are overworld Beacons here plus the Beacons inside the three Fainweald Corrupted Gates. The Week 1 Patch added new daytime-only Beacons in this region — check areas you have already explored during the day to locate them.

    Fainweald Overworld Beacons

    • Widow’s Overlook — Pre-cleansed. Your first Fainweald destination after launching from Marrow Keep. Acts as a hub for early exploration. Southeast of here you will find Tiel’s grave and your first map fragment.
    • Mushroom Village — Found in the yard to the left of Tiel’s grave. Pass through the Dancing Hags area to reach it. Gives 1 Ova. Useful early farming anchor for the Gloom farming loop near the village gate.
    • Mushroom Village Gate — Southeast of Mushroom Village, right in front of the Corrupted Gate: Glutted Mire. Cross the rope bridges from Mushroom Village to tag it. This is a Gate-adjacent Beacon — gives 3 Ova on cleansing.
    • One-Legged Wolf — Reached by crossing the rope bridges southeast of Mushroom Village Gate. Near the One-Legged Wolf Tavern where you can find the Gragu Shell and the Troubadour’s Lute. Gives 1 Ova.
    • Blackridge Pass — North of Widow’s Overlook up the sloping path and across the ravine. One of the key northern Beacons for Gloom farming at Gloomshade Grove. Gives 1 Ova.
    • Shattered Beacon — Northeast of Blackridge Pass, in the area where you also unlock the Proxima Shell. Gives 1 Ova. Cleansing it clears corruption that opens a direct path east through the Stones of Remembrance area.
    • Gloomshade Grove — Further north past Blackridge Pass. The Beacon sits right next to a clearing with four Grisha Hunters — one of the best early Gloom farming spots in the game. Gives 1 Ova.
    • Citadel of Penance — In the northwestern area, inside the large fortified structure. The sloping path south of here leads to Desolate Peak via the jump teleporter. Gives 1 Ova. Near this Beacon you can find the Chapel Key path and the Bloodcursed Lithopod miniboss.
    • Stonebled Gate — Found in the area after cleansing Blackridge Pass and heading into the higher northeastern zone. Gate-adjacent Beacon — gives 3 Ova. Near where you can find the Gloombound Stone Tarstone chest.
    • Outskirts of Nochte — The swampy western area of Fainweald, reached via the jump gate south of Widow’s Overlook or from the area past the Great Arbiter of Flesh. Where you find the Smert Shell and can pick up the Gloombound Flame to unlock Night Mode. Gives 1 Ova.
    • Nocthean Gate — South of the Outskirts of Nochte, at the entrance to the third Fainweald Corrupted Gate (Prisoner’s Domain). Gate-adjacent Beacon — gives 3 Ova. Near the Bone Gate that leads to Desolate Peak from this direction.
    • Sunken Village — In the Glutted Mire area, near the sheep pen bridge that is useful for early Gloom farming. Gives 1 Ova. The area also contains the Wandering Shepherd optional boss. Nearby is the chest in Mushroom Village worth investigating.
    • Seeping Mire — Also in the Glutted Mire area, past the main gate of Sunken Village. Cleansing sends you to Rootwater Hollow to fight the Circle of the Grasping Root. Gives 1 Ova and 1 Glimpse.
    • Sanguine Shoreline — Inside the Sanguine Caverns region. Follow the main path into the Blood Caves area. Gate-adjacent Beacon — gives 3 Ova. Boss Sester Secundus is encountered deeper into this Corrupted Gate.

Fainweald Corrupted Gate Beacons (Inside the Gates)

Each Fainweald Corrupted Gate contains multiple Beacons on the main path, with the final one appearing after you defeat the main boss.

    Glutted Mire (3 Beacons inside):

    • Magdalena’s Glade — appears after defeating Magdalena, the Lady of the Woods. Gives 26 Ova. The Etching Needle chest is also found here before the Magdalena fight, which you need to bring to Franz at the Tarforge. Our Magdalena boss guide covers the full fight.
    • Two additional Beacons on the main path inside the Glutted Mire, give 1 Ova each.

    Sanguine Caverns (3 Beacons inside):

    • Pulsing Caves — on the main path
    • Child’s Feeding Grounds — on the main path
    • Post-boss Beacon — appears after defeating Sester Secundus. Gives 26 Ova. See our Sester Secundus boss guide.

Prisoner’s Domain (4 Beacons inside — the only Gate with four):

    • Hangman’s Scaffold — on main path
    • Executioner’s Pulpit — on main path
    • Slumwater Drain — the hidden Beacon. Near the start of the gate, look right for a door up wooden stairs. Head inside and break the boxes to find a fake wall. In the next room, interact with the item on the wall to teleport to a secret area. Find the metal grate on the wall and squeeze through to reach this Beacon.
    • Captive’s End — post-boss Beacon after defeating the Prophet of Profane Infinities. Gives 26 Ova. See our Prophet of Profane Infinities boss guide.

All Beacon Locations – Ruins of Mammon (Overworld)

The Ruins of Mammon is the second open region. It is harder than Fainweald and the enemies hit noticeably harder. Outskirts of Mammon is the one Beacon here that is pre-cleansed and available by default when you first enter Mammon. The Week 1 Patch also added new daytime-only Beacons across Mammon — explore during the day to locate them, as they do not appear in Night Mode.

    Mammon Overworld Beacons

    • Outskirts of Mammon — Pre-cleansed. The entry point to Mammon. Gives no Ova. The map fragment for Mammon region 1 is on the nearby bluff near the catapult. This is also close to where the Collector vendor appears at Night Mode.
    • Abandoned Outpost — Head north from the Outskirts of Mammon. Gives 1 Ova. The Collector night vendor appears directly south of this Beacon in Night Mode, selling exclusive Tarstones.
    • High Lord’s Courtyard — Continue northwest from Abandoned Outpost through the camp. Map fragment nearby. The Lazlo Shell crypt is close to this Beacon. Gives 1 Ova.
    • Gate of Mammon — The main gate-adjacent Beacon for the Conquered Temple. Gate-adjacent — gives 3 Ova. East of Sester’s Abbey in Mammon.
    • Castigator’s Keep — Follow the Road to Absolution from Outskirts of Mammon. Map fragment nearby. Gives 1 Ova. Multiple dungeons accessible from around this Beacon including the Blackwell Cavern and Hall of Murmurs.
    • Gate of Infinity — Gate-adjacent Beacon for the Withered Shoals Corrupted Gate in western Mammon. Map fragment nearby. Gives 3 Ova.
    • The Silent Steps — Further into Mammon’s western area. The Sariel boss encounter and Clockwork Scythe weapon are found south of this Beacon. Gives 1 Ova.
    • Abbey Entrance — Reached by going to the southeastern edge of Outskirts of Mammon, watching for bear traps, and using the bone gate east. Map fragment nearby in the Abbey tower. Gives 1 Ova.
    • Sester’s Gate — Inside the Sester’s Refuge area. The Revered Beacon dungeon is reached from here. The Nameless Captive miniboss is in this zone. Gives 1 Ova. See our Nameless Captive boss guide.
    • Ovate’s Chamber — Inside the Sanguine Caverns overworld approach (Mammon side). Gives 1 Ova.
    • Seeping Mire (Mammon) — In the swamp area on the path into the Glutted Mire side of Mammon. Gives 1 Ova.

Mammon Corrupted Gate Beacons (Inside the Gates)

    Conquered Temple (3 Beacons inside):

    • Winterglass Lake — inside the main path
    • Conqueror’s Hoard — on the main path (the Frostshard Stone is at the far end of the freezing corridor past this Beacon)
    • Post-boss Beacon — appears after defeating Droeg the Conqueror. Gives 26 Ova. See our Droeg the Conqueror boss guide.

    Withered Shoals (3 Beacons inside):

    • Two Beacons on the main path inside the gate — gives 1 Ova each
    • Post-boss Beacon — appears after defeating Hexapod. Gives 26 Ova. Note: the Beacon appears in the boss room after Hexapod falls — due to the size of the arena, it is easy to miss so search the area carefully. See our Hexapod boss guide.

    Faded Citadel (3 Beacons inside):

    • Citadel Annex — on the main path, enter through the opening in the stone platform after picking up nearby Laterite
    • Citadel Atrium — head down the stairs left of the Citadel Annex area tree and continue to find this Beacon
    • Scholar-Prince’s Chamber — post-boss Beacon after defeating Isaac the Scholar Prince. Gives 26 Ova. See our Isaac the Scholar Prince boss guide.

All Beacon Locations – The Unfound Path (Final Area)

The Unfound Path opens after you collect 150 Ova total. A hole appears in Marrow Keep’s floor leading to this final area. It consists of a central circular structure with three story paths branching from it.

There are 8 Beacons in the Unfound Path total:

    • Each of the 3 story paths contains 2 Beacons on the main route — these are hard to miss as you follow each path
    • 1 Beacon sits around the left side of the central circular structure
    • The final Beacon is on the central structure itself — it only becomes cleansable after you complete all 3 story paths. Cleansing it is required to reach the final boss, Zmey the Uninvited. See our Zmey the Uninvited boss guide.

    Complete Beacon Count by Region

    • Prisoner’s Domain (Corrupted Gate) — 4 Beacons
    • Mammon Overworld — approximately 11 Beacons, plus additional daytime-only Beacons added in the Week 1 Patch

    • Total: 49 Beacons (46 cleansable) at launch — check in-game for your current total after the Week 1 Patch

Tips for Finding and Cleansing All Beacons

    • Touch every Beacon you find immediately. You do not need to cleanse a Beacon to add it to your fast travel list — just interacting with it is enough. But cleansing gives you Ova, so do it whenever you feel ready.
    • Revisit Fainweald and Mammon during the day after the Week 1 Patch. New daytime-only Beacons were added to both regions. They do not appear or activate in Night Mode, so switch back to Day Mode and explore previously cleared areas to locate them. If your achievement tracker shows fewer than expected, this is the first place to check.
    • The Slumwater Drain Beacon in Prisoner’s Domain is the easiest to miss. It requires finding a hidden room via a fake wall and a teleport item. Look for the door up the wooden stairs near the start of the gate, break the boxes, and interact with the item on the wall of the next room. This is the one Beacon most players miss on a first run.
    • Post-boss Beacons appear in the boss arena after the fight. After defeating a Corrupted Gate boss, always search the arena before leaving — the Beacon appears here with 26 Ova inside it. The Hexapod arena is the largest and most disorienting, so be thorough.
    • No Beacon is permanently missable. After the final boss, the game enters a free-roam state and you can return anywhere in the world to mop up missed Beacons before choosing to start New Game+. Achievement hunters can leave Beacon hunting for the end of the run if needed.
    • Cleansing a Beacon also removes corruption blockages nearby. Once you have Mether’s Breath, use it on the black tendrils you spot near cleansed Beacons — the Beacon cleansing and the corruption clearing work together to open up sealed loot and paths in each area.
    • Use the Mether’s Breath menu as your checklist. The fast travel menu lists every Beacon you have activated in order. Cross-reference it against this guide to identify any you have not yet found. You can see which Beacons in the menu are cleansed (full menu available) and which are uncleansed (only basic options).
    • Farm Gloom at good Beacons before pushing forward. Some Beacons sit next to excellent farming spots. The Gloomshade Grove Beacon next to the four Grisha Hunters is the best early example. Always check nearby enemy density before leaving a Beacon area — and see our guide on the best Seals to make sure your defensive loadout is ready for what each area throws at you.

Beacon Cleansing and the Achievement Requirements

Two achievements are tied directly to Beacons:

    • So Fresh, So Clean — Cleanse all cleansable Beacons (Marrow Keep, Widow’s Overlook, and Outskirts of Mammon are excluded since they are pre-cleansed). Remember to explore Fainweald and Mammon during the day after the Week 1 Patch to find any newly added Beacons.
    • Bring My Ova Back to Me — Unlock automatically alongside So Fresh, So Clean, since all Ova in the game comes exclusively from cleansed Beacons

The achievement tracker shows 46 as the target, not 49 — this is expected. The three pre-cleansed Beacons cannot be re-cleansed, so they do not count toward the total.

For a full look at boss strategies across every major encounter you will face while hunting Beacons, our Mortal Shell 2 all boss list covers every fight in order. And if you want to get a map first before tackling these areas, our guide on how to get a map in Mortal Shell 2 shows you how to start filling in the fog of war.

All Beacon Locations in Mortal Shell 2 – FAQ

How many Beacons are in Mortal Shell 2?

There are 49 total Beacons in Mortal Shell 2 at launch. Of those, 46 can be cleansed by the player. The remaining 3 — Marrow Keep, Widow’s Overlook, and Outskirts of Mammon — are already cleansed when you discover them, so they give no Ova and the achievement tracker only shows 46 as its target. The Week 1 Patch added new daytime-only Beacons in Fainweald and Mammon — check your in-game Mether’s Breath menu for the current total after updating.

Are any Beacons missable in Mortal Shell 2?

No. Every Beacon in the game remains accessible after the final boss in a free-roam state before you choose to enter New Game+. The Slumwater Drain in Prisoner’s Domain is the most commonly missed Beacon on a first run because it is hidden behind a fake wall and a teleport, but it can be found at any time. The Week 1 Patch also added new daytime-only Beacons in Fainweald and Mammon — if you are missing entries on your checklist, explore both regions during the day rather than at night. Do not worry about locking yourself out — come back and clean up any you missed at the end.

How do I unlock fast travel between Beacons in Mortal Shell 2?

Fast travel between Beacons requires Mether’s Breath. You unlock it by collecting Ova from cleansing Beacons and siphoning them at the Gloom Siphon (the globe-like machine) inside Marrow Keep. The threshold is around 8 Ova total siphoned. Standard Beacons give 1 Ova each, Gate-adjacent Beacons give 3, and post-boss Beacons give 26. As of the Week 1 Patch, the Gloom Siphon also rewards Glimpses when you deposit Ova. See our full fast travel guide for the quickest route to unlocking Mether’s Breath.

What is the hardest Beacon to find in Mortal Shell 2?

The Slumwater Drain Beacon inside the Prisoner’s Domain Corrupted Gate is the most commonly missed. It requires entering a hidden room by breaking boxes to reveal a fake wall, then interacting with an item in the next room to teleport to a secret area, and finally squeezing through a metal grate to reach the Beacon. None of this is signposted clearly, which is why it catches most players off guard on a first run. After the Week 1 Patch, the new daytime-only Beacons added to Fainweald and Mammon are also easy to overlook if you explore primarily in Night Mode — switch to Day Mode and retrace your steps if your count seems low.
