All Wrenwood Files in Resident Evil Requiem
Wrenwood has 6 files. They appear in this order in the in-game Files menu:
- Investigation Report
- Wrenwood City Guide
- Hotel Pamphlet
- Notice of Closure
- Alyssa’s Journal
- Report on Victor Gideon
Two of these are tied to story progression and cannot be missed. The other four require you to explore a little. Here is exactly where to find each one.
File 1 – Investigation Report
Location: In your inventory at the very start of the game.
As soon as you gain control of Grace, open your inventory. Select the Investigation Report. Zoom in and rotate the folder until you can interact with the photo sticking out of it. Read the document inside. This unlocks the file. It cannot be missed.
File 2 – Wrenwood City Guide
Location: On the street, near the City Map board.

Walk forward from your starting point on the Wrenwood street. You will pass a barber shop on your left. Directly opposite it, near the road, is an information kiosk or city map board. Wait for any NPC nearby to move away, then interact with the board. This picks up the Wrenwood City Guide file.
Do not skip this. It is easy to walk right past it.
File 3 – Hotel Pamphlet
Location: On the floor of the Hotel Lobby.

After using the Old Key to open the hotel door, head inside. You will enter the Lobby area, which has a staircase going up. Before going upstairs, look on the floor near a chair or trolley. The Hotel Pamphlet is sitting right there. Pick it up.
File 4 – Notice of Closure
Location: Inside a desk drawer in the Hotel Office.

From the Lobby, go behind the reception desk and follow the path into the back room. You will find a blue desk. Open the top drawer to find the Notice of Closure file. It is easy to overlook since most players focus on the stairs or the main path forward.
File 5 – Alyssa’s Journal
Location: Behind a painting in the Hotel Lobby — unlocked through story progression.

This file is story-locked. After a flashback cutscene plays, Grace will retrieve Alyssa’s bag from behind a portrait in the Lobby. The Alyssa’s Journal is inside the bag. You cannot miss this one as long as you follow the story.
This is also a key moment in the narrative. Reading it carefully will help you understand Grace’s connection to the events unfolding around her.
File 6 – Report on Victor Gideon
Location: Automatic — obtained during a cutscene when Leon becomes playable.
Once Grace’s section in Wrenwood wraps up, the perspective shifts to Leon. Before you take control of him for the first time, a cutscene plays. The Report on Victor Gideon is handed to you automatically during this scene. You cannot miss it.
Tips for Collecting All Wrenwood Files
- Explore slowly. Files 2, 3, and 4 are in spots you can walk past without noticing.
- There is no chapter select. If you miss a file, you need an earlier manual save to return. Keep saves from each area just in case.
- Check the Files menu. Go to your inventory and open the Files tab. You can see which ones you have collected and compare against this list.
- Track progress under Challenges. The Case Closed challenge shows your overall file count across the whole game.
