Best Meta Hyeon Burst Loadout in COD Modern Warfare 4

Best Meta Hyeon Burst Loadout in COD Modern Warfare 4

    TL;DR

    • The Hyeon Burst is a burst-fire assault rifle unlocked at Player Level 21 in MW4.
    • Its best feature is the Hyeon Hyperburst Apex attachment — tap to burst, hold to go full-auto.
    • The meta build focuses on recoil control, damage range, and ADS speed.
    • Best paired with a fast SMG like the ISO Nightshade for close-range gaps.
    • Works best on mid-range maps like Munition, Sentry, and Transit 213.

The Hyeon Burst is one of those guns that looks average on paper until you unlock its Apex attachment. Once you do, it plays completely differently. You get a lightning-fast three-round burst on the first trigger press, followed by controlled full-auto fire if you hold the trigger down. That flexibility is what makes it worth running.

This guide covers the best Hyeon Burst loadout for MW4 multiplayer, the standard build for before you reach the Apex, and the full class setup to go with it.

Hyeon Burst Overview in Modern Warfare 4

The Hyeon Burst is a burst-fire assault rifle in MW4. It unlocks at Player Level 21 and has a max gun level of 68. Default magazine size is 30 rounds with 90 in reserve.

Out of the box, it fires in a three-round burst. The gap between bursts can hurt you if you miss — that’s the tradeoff. But the Apex attachment solves a lot of that problem by giving you a fallback to full-auto if needed. It currently sits in the Meta tier for Apex Attachment builds in MW4 multiplayer.

Best Meta Hyeon Burst Loadout in COD Modern Warfare 4

Best Meta Hyeon Burst Loadout – Apex Build (Recommended)

This is the main build. You need the Hyeon Hyperburst Apex attachment to get the most out of this rifle. It unlocks when you reach Gun Level 68, so keep leveling it up. If you want help with that, see our guide to getting double XP tokens in MW4.

    • Apex: Hyeon Hyperburst
    • Muzzle: FSS IS300 (Heavy Silencer)
    • Barrel: Mugi Ingoem 559mm (Heavy Barrel)
    • Underbarrel: FSS Fireline Grip (Angled Foregrip)
    • Stock: Hyeon Stockpad Tac (Tactical Stock)
    • Laser: SZ GEN.6 PEQ (Bright ADS Laser)

    Why This Build Works

The FSS IS300 muzzle suppresses your shots and adds muzzle velocity and damage range. You stay off the minimap and can engage further targets more reliably. Yes, it costs you ADS speed — the stock and laser are there to fix that.

The Mugi Ingoem 559mm barrel does the heavy lifting on recoil control and gun kick. Without it, the burst pattern drifts more than you’d like on follow-up shots.

The FSS Fireline Grip improves ADS recoil control further. There’s a small hit to ADS and sprint-to-fire, but it makes the gun feel much more planted. At mid-range — where this gun does its best work — that matters more than raw ADS speed.

The Hyeon Stockpad Tac gives back ADS speed to offset what the barrel and muzzle cost you. A small ADS recoil penalty comes with it, but the barrel and grip already have that covered.

The SZ GEN.6 PEQ laser gives sprint-to-fire speed, ADS speed, and reduced ADS gun bob. The laser is visible in ADS, which is the only downside. Keep that in mind in modes where stealth matters. If it bothers you, swap the laser for an optic — any mini reflex works fine here — and replace the stock with something else.

The Hyeon Hyperburst Apex is what makes this loadout. On the first tap, it fires a blinding-fast three-round burst. If you hold the trigger down, it transitions into slower, controlled full-auto fire. This gives you burst precision at range and a full-auto fallback if someone rushes you. It also changes the iron sights appearance, so be ready for that adjustment.

Standard Build (Before You Unlock the Apex)

If you haven’t hit Gun Level 68 yet, here’s a solid build to run in the meantime. It focuses on tightening the burst pattern and making sure your shots land cleanly.

    • Optic: FJX 708 Pro (Reflex)
    • Barrel: Mugi Ingoem 559mm (Heavy Barrel)
    • Muzzle: FTAC Dominion (Balanced Comp)
    • Underbarrel: FSS Fireline Grip (Angled Grip)
    • Rear Grip: X-Vector 799 Grip (Skeleton Grip)

    Why This Build Works

The FTAC Dominion muzzle is a balanced compensator — it improves ADS recoil control without suppressing your shots. Good pick before you’ve committed to the suppressed route. The FJX 708 Pro optic helps you see targets clearly at mid-range without eating too much ADS speed. The X-Vector 799 Grip in the rear grip slot recovers ADS speed and sprint-to-fire that the barrel and underbarrel take away.

This build isn’t as strong as the Apex version, but it keeps the Hyeon Burst competitive while you grind to max level.

    Best Hyeon Burst Class Setup

    Secondary Weapon

The Hyeon Burst handles mid-range well but can struggle up close — especially when a rushing player gets inside your burst timing. The ISO Nightshade is the top pairing for this reason. It’s fast, mobile, and dominant under 15 meters. For a full setup, see our best ISO Nightshade loadout guide.

If you want something with more range versatility, the VEL 46 is another solid secondary option to bridge close-quarters gaps.

    Perks

    • High Alert — Warns you when enemies outside your view are targeting you. Keeps you alive in open-lane maps where flanks are common.
    • Blood Rush — Refreshes tactical sprint and reduces damage taken after kills. Keeps momentum going after clearing a fight.
    • Scavenger — Resupplies ammo from dead players. Helpful with the Hyeon Burst’s 30-round default mag during longer engagements.

    Tactical

Stim — Quick health regeneration when you need it. The Hyeon Burst is best at mid-range, and Stim lets you play aggressively, take a hit, and recover without fully retreating.

    Lethal

Semtex — Sticks to surfaces and enemies. Good for flushing players out of corners or controlling an objective area before you push.

    Field Upgrade

Munitions Box — Keeps ammo topped up for yourself and teammates. The Hyeon Burst burns through rounds during sustained fights, especially when using the full-auto fallback on the Hyperburst.

    Hyeon Burst Tips for Multiplayer

Tap at Range, Hold Up Close

With the Hyperburst Apex equipped, you have two modes. At mid-range, tap the trigger — the first burst is the fastest and most accurate. Up close, hold the trigger and let the full-auto mode take over. Don’t try to tap-fire into a rushing player’s face. Switch to full-auto and outpace them.

    Know Your Burst Timing

Without the Apex, there’s a gap between bursts. One of the biggest mistakes with burst rifles is mashing the trigger too fast during that gap. You end up throwing shots wide. Slow down, let the burst settle, then fire again. The recoil control from the barrel and underbarrel makes this much more manageable.

    Pick Your Map Spots

The Hyeon Burst is a lane fighter. Maps like Munition, Sentry, Transit 213, and Coal give you consistent mid-range engagement distances where burst rifles thrive. Avoid dropping into the tight corridors of Silkworm or the hectic indoor fights on Lotus without your secondary ready to swap.

    Use Cover Between Bursts

Burst rifles punish you harder than full-auto ARs when you miss. Use cover to reset. Fire a burst, duck, reposition slightly, fire again. The FSS IS300 silencer helps here — you stay off the minimap so enemies can’t instantly read your position.

How Does the Hyeon Burst Compare to Other ARs in MW4?

The Hyeon Burst is a Meta tier weapon in MW4, but it’s not at the top of the AR pecking order without its Apex. Once you have the Hyperburst equipped, the gap closes significantly.

    • vs. M4: The M4 is a full-auto AR that’s easier to use in general lobbies. The Hyeon Burst has a higher skill ceiling but more upside when you land your shots. See the best M4 loadout here.
    • vs. HAN-86: The HAN-86 rewards mobile, aggressive players. The Hyeon Burst is better for structured lane play and objective holding. See the best HAN-86 loadout here.
    • vs. Kastov 762: The Kastov hits harder per bullet but kicks more. The Hyeon Burst is easier to control at range with the right attachments.

    Hyeon Burst DMZ Build

If you’re running the Hyeon Burst in DMZ, the priority shifts slightly. You want to keep enemy AI off the minimap and push damage range for longer outdoor engagements.

    • Apex: Hyeon Hyperburst
    • Barrel: Mugi Ingoem 559mm (Heavy Barrel)
    • Muzzle: FSS IS300 (Heavy Silencer)
    • Underbarrel: FSS Fireline Grip (Angled Grip)
    • Rear Grip: HYN-Meipeul (Aim Grip)
    • Optic: SZ SRE-7 (Reflex)

In DMZ, the suppressor keeps you quieter and helps avoid drawing extra enemies during compound clears. The reflex optic gives you a better picture for the longer sightlines you’ll encounter on the open parts of the map.
