The Fallen Kingdom armor set is one of the best things you can grab early in Crimson Desert. It’s scattered across western Hernand in caves and ruins the game never explicitly points you toward. No boss fight required for most pieces, no quest marker, and no story gate. It’s pure exploration — and the rewards are worth every hidden waterfall you push through.

Visually, the set is unmistakable. The deer-head helm with antlers, the fur-trimmed cloak, the dark leather and plate combination. It’s the same set worn by Saigord the Staglord, making it one of the most recognizable boss-inspired looks in the game. Stat-wise, it punches hard too — especially the helm, which carries a +35% Turning Slash damage bonus, the strongest early-game damage modifier available for that skill. Before You Go — Essential Skills to Have

Three of the five armor pieces are hidden behind waterfalls. You need one skill to get through them:

Stab — R1 + Triangle (PS5) / RB + Y (Xbox) / R1 + R2 (some sources).

Face the waterfall directly, then use Stab to push through the water without taking damage. This skill is unlocked by default for all three playable characters — Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka — so you don’t need to spend any Abyss Artifacts to use it. If the waterfall bounces you back, adjust your position slightly left or right and try again from the center of the falls.

For the Cloak location, you also need Force Palm to break wooden planks (hold R3 / right stick).

Every waterfall entrance in Hernand is also marked by stacked stones nearby — look for those as a natural signal that a cave is hidden behind the falls.

Piece 1 — Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom

Location: Sanctum of Benediction, western Hernand

Map reference: South of the letter “E” in “Hernand” on the world map.

The helm is the most important piece of the set and the one to prioritize first. It carries the +35% Turning Slash damage bonus — the single biggest early-game combat upgrade available for Kliff’s most reliable skill chain.

How to get it:

Enter the Sanctum and face the north wall near the staircase.
Look for an unlit lantern next to the stairs on the outside of the structure. Interact with it to light it.
Lighting the lantern shifts the wall, opening a concealed door.
Head inside the secret room. The chest containing the Leather Helm of the Fallen Kingdom is near the entrance of the hidden room.

Depending on your progression and whether you’ve unlocked the second Witch (Elowen) in Chapter 5, you may encounter Antumbra Order enemies inside the Sanctum. Come prepared to fight or sprint past them.

Piece 2 — Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom (Chest)

Location: Frozen Soul Cave, Everfrost, western Hernand

Map reference: South of the Sanctum of Benediction, between the letters “E” and “R” in “Hernand” on the map. Follow the river running south from the Sanctum heading west until you reach a waterfall.

This is the chest piece, and it provides a +10% silver gain bonus — a fantastic utility effect that pays off across your entire playthrough. More silver means faster upgrades, more purchases, and better gear overall.

How to get it:

From the Sanctum of Benediction, head south and follow the river west.
You’re looking for a waterfall. The cave entrance is at the base — look for stacked stones nearby to confirm you’re in the right spot.
Face the waterfall and use Stab (R1 + Triangle / RB + Y) to pass through into the Frozen Soul Cave.
The path inside is straightforward. Follow it to the treasure chest at the end.
Open it to collect the Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom.

Piece 3 — Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom

Location: Icemoor Castle Ruins, western Hernand

Map reference: North, between the “R” and the first “N” in “Hernand” on the map. Northwest of Nightstorm Cave.

The Cloak is one of the more involved pieces to get — it requires navigating through the ruins rather than a simple waterfall dive. It provides Lightning Resistance Lv. 3, which becomes very useful in electric-themed combat situations later in the game.

Bonus: The Fallen Kingdom Rapier is in the same room. If you’re playing as Damiane, don’t leave without it.

How to get it:

Head to Icemoor Castle Ruins in western Hernand. This is also where you fight Saigord the Staglord as part of the House Serkis “Lord Amidst the Ruins” questline.
Enter the ruins and head north, up the stairs.
At the top, follow the linear path to the right and cross the bridge.
Continue toward the back of the castle until you hit a dead end with a hole in the wall blocked by wooden planks.
Press L3 (Crouch) to enter the crawlspace, then use Force Palm (R3) to break through the wooden planks.
Inside, you’ll find a hidden room. The chest on the left side contains the Leather Cloak of the Fallen Kingdom.
Look to the left of the chest — the Fallen Kingdom Rapier is leaning against a barrel in the same room. Pick it up if you plan to play as Damiane.

Piece 4 — Plate Gloves of the Fallen Kingdom

Location: Starlight Storm Cave (also called Starlight Storm Cavern), Everfrost, Hernand

Map reference: South, between the “N” and “A” in “Hernand” on the world map. North of Fort Warspike and south of the Sanctum of Atonement.

The gloves are one of the more versatile pieces in the set. Unlike purely defensive armor, they also boost attack stats and come with effects including minor health regeneration, making them useful for aggressive playstyles that need a bit of sustain.

How to get it:

Head to the Everfrost area of Hernand, finding the river that runs through the area south between the “N” and “A” on the map.
Follow the river upstream heading west toward the waterfall.
Look for stacked stones near the falls confirming the hidden entrance.
Face the waterfall and use Stab (R1 + Triangle / RB + Y) to enter the Starlight Storm Cave.
The cave leads directly to a treasure chest containing the Plate Gloves of the Fallen Kingdom.

Piece 5 — Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom

Location: Nightstorm Cave, Haunted Hill, Hernand

Map reference: Just above the first “N” in “Hernand” on the world map, southeast of Icemoor Castle Ruins.

The boots are the final piece of the set. They provide climb speed increase and mobility bonuses, making traversal noticeably smoother after equipping them.

How to get it:

Head to the Haunted Hill area of Hernand, just above the first “N” in the map text.
Find the river in this area and follow it west toward the waterfall.
Look for stacked stones near the base of the falls.
Use Stab (R1 + Triangle / RB + Y) to enter Nightstorm Cave through the waterfall.
Follow the cave path inside to the treasure chest at the end.
Open it to claim the Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom and complete the main armor set.

There is no explicit set bonus icon in the game — each piece works independently — but wearing the full set gives you a stacked combination of Lightning Resistance and Stamina Regen that covers multiple combat situations.

Fallen Kingdom Rapier (Damiane Only)

The rapier is found in the same hidden room as the Cloak at Icemoor Castle Ruins. It’s leaning against a barrel to the left of the chest. You can’t miss it if you’re already there for the Cloak.

Fallen Kingdom Sword (Kliff)

There is a Fallen Kingdom Sword usable by Kliff, but unlike the rest of the set it is not a guaranteed chest find. It shows up as random open-world loot across Hernand. You may come across it naturally during exploration — there’s no set farming spot for it.

Staglord’s Shield

The shield associated with the Fallen Kingdom set is called the Staglord’s Shield. You get it by defeating Saigord, the Staglord, at Icemoor Castle Ruins as part of the House Serkis faction questline “Lord Amidst the Ruins.”

Rewards: Staglord’s Shield (DEF 6, Speed Lv. 2) plus an Abyss Artifact. The shield comes with Fortification I and Aegis I Abyss Gears pre-slotted. It’s a solid defensive option if you run a shield build alongside the Fallen Kingdom armor. Combined with the armor set’s 5 pieces, the rapier and shield add another 5 Abyss Gear slots to your loadout — giving you significant room for further customization.

Tips for Collecting the Full Set Efficiently

Start with the Helm. The +35% Turning Slash damage bonus is the single most impactful stat in the entire set. Grab it first and the rest of the set becomes a bonus on top of an already game-changing upgrade.

Use a horse. Most of these locations are deep in Hernand’s wilderness, which is patrolled by bandits. A high-stamina horse lets you bypass fights and reach each cave faster. See our horse guide for mount tips.

Look for stacked stones. Every waterfall in Pywel with a hidden entrance has a small pile of stones nearby marking the spot. If you see stacked stones next to a waterfall, that’s your entry point.

Center yourself in the waterfall. If Stab isn’t working and bouncing you back, you’re likely slightly off-center. Step directly to the middle of the falling water and try again.

Sanctum access note. Reaching the Sanctum of Benediction for the helm may require clearing Antumbra enemies in the area. Elowen, the second Witch encountered in Chapter 5, can also influence your access. Come ready to fight if needed.
