What Is the Flying Fortress Orbian Quest in Crimson Desert?

The Flying Fortress Orbian — also called Cloud Fortress Orbian — is the 154th main mission in Crimson Desert. It sits inside Chapter 11: Truth and Reality, under the Foreboding Shadow sub-chapter.

You unlock it after finishing the Whispers in the Wind quest. Right after that, you’re on Blackstar and the mission begins automatically. There’s no downtime between getting your dragon and this fight.

You cannot save during this mission. So prep everything before you start.

How to Prepare Before Starting Flying Fortress Orbian

Don’t rush into this mission unprepared. A few things will make your life much easier:

Bring arrows. This is the most important tip. The boss fight requires a Bow with arrows. If you enter the fortress without arrows, you’ll need to leave and redo the entire puzzle sequence from the beginning. Buy a full stack from any merchant before you start.

Have the Stab skill at Level 1. You need it to progress inside. It should be auto-unlocked by this point, but double-check before entering.

Have Focused Shot unlocked. Without it, the boss fight is very slow and painful.

Refine your weapons to at least +5. The mission is intense. Underpowered gear makes it harder than it needs to be. See our guide on how to reinforce equipment in Crimson Desert.

Stock up on food. At least 200 Grilled Meat is a solid buffer for the whole chapter. Check our guide on how to cook the best healing food in Crimson Desert.

Build up your stamina. The cable climbs outside the fortress are very long. Low stamina means falling to your death. See our guide on how to get max stamina in Crimson Desert.

How to Enter Flying Fortress Orbian in Crimson Desert

After the cutscene from the previous quest, you’re automatically on Blackstar. Fly east toward the Flying Fortress Orbian floating above the Crimson Desert.

Your job is to destroy the turrets on the outside of the fortress. Here’s the key thing most players miss:

The turrets can only be hit when you fly directly in front of them. Wait until you’re straight in their line of fire — the turret will glow yellow inside a red laser beam. That’s your window. Press R1 to fire Fireballs.

Dodge incoming shots by double-tapping Circle to barrel roll.

Keep destroying turrets until a cutscene triggers. Kliff is now inside the fortress on foot.

How to Find a Way Inside Flying Fortress Orbian in Crimson Desert

You land in a room with a central pillar. There are two climbable walls but no way upward. The answer is the pillar itself.

  1. Face the pillar and press R1 + Triangle to use Stab — your sword lodges into the wood
  2. Push the Left Stick clockwise to rotate the pillar
  3. Watch the metal grates in the ceiling above you as it rotates
  4. Stop when an open hole lines up with the open ceiling
  5. Jump through the hole using 3 mid-air Force Palms to reach the next floor

On the next floor, you’ll find a green glass dome in the center of the room.

  • Press R1 + Triangle to Stab it
  • Press R2 to Pierce and destroy it
  • Defeat the three enemies on this floor before moving on

Now look around the sides of the room for cables running upward. Jump onto them and start climbing toward the roof.

The climb is long. There’s a ledge halfway up where you can stop and recover your stamina. Use it if you need to. If stamina is still an issue, use Jump + Triple Force Palm to gain extra height and cover more distance per jump.

Once you reach the roof, head to the center. You’ll see another green glass dome.

  • R1 + Triangle to Stab it
  • R2 to Pierce and destroy it

A short cutscene plays. A door opens on the south side of the Flying Fortress Orbian.

Go through the opened wall and head right until you find a wall panel marked with a crest.

  • Climb the wall panel
  • Press L2 to Cling
  • Press R3 to Force Palm — this rotates the wall and opens a passage through

You’re now inside the room with H.A.L.L. The boss fight starts immediately.

How to Beat Flying Fortress Orbian (H.A.L.L. Boss Fight) in Crimson Desert

This boss fight is nothing like normal sword combat. Don’t even think about running in swinging. You need your Bow, Arrows, and Focused Shot for this one.

The Flying Fortress Orbian fires lasers at you. Move fast and it won’t matter.

Attack loop:

  1. Hold L2 to aim your Bow
  2. Press L3 + R3 to activate Focused Shot
  3. Press R1 four times to mark the central eye of the boss
  4. Release L2 to fire all four arrows simultaneously — this deals massive damage
  5. Repeat a few times and the boss goes down

That’s all there is to it. Fast and clean. The mission ends right after.

After the boss — check the central pedestal. There are rare mechanical components sitting there. Don’t leave without grabbing them.

What Comes After Flying Fortress Orbian in Crimson Desert?

After completing this quest, the next mission is Precise Execution — the 155th main quest in Chapter 12: The Abyss. Head back to Fort Musket’s outpost and speak with Stefan to trigger the cutscene and move forward.
