The Alabaster Curved Sword is one of Crimson Desert’s hidden world finds. There’s no quest marker, no NPC pointing you toward it, and no crafting recipe. You ride out into the desert, spot a strange circular formation in the sand, navigate a quicksand puzzle, trigger a memory fragment, and dig it up with your bare hands. What You Need Before Going
Before making the trip, there are two things to sort out.
The Visione Helmet. You need this equipped to view memory fragments. You unlock it after liberating and exploring the Lioncrest Watchtower in Hernand. At least 5 Fire Resistance. The Crimson Desert region is hot. The extreme heat drains your stamina without enough resistance, which is a real problem when you’re trying to navigate quicksand. Aim for at least 5 Fire Resistance before heading out. You won’t need to fight anything to grab the sword, so avoid combat on the way there and focus on reaching the location cleanly.
Alabaster Curved Sword Location
The sword is located in the Urdavah province of the Crimson Desert region, just above Forebearer’s Barrens. On your map, place a marker roughly above the “B” in “Forebearer’s.” You can also think of it as heading north of the first “E” in “Forebearer’s Barrens.” Either way, once you get close, the terrain itself tells you you’re in the right place.
The exact spot is called the Forgotten City — an area of desert sands with a large crater in the middle filled with quicksand and ringed by rocks. The circular formation stands out clearly compared to the surrounding flat desert.
How to Get the Alabaster Curved Sword — Step by Step
Step 1: Reach the Quicksand Crater
Ride northwest to your map marker. Once you arrive, you’ll see the large circular sandpit with a rock formation at the center. Don’t step into the sand directly — it’s quicksand and will pull Kliff under if you try to sprint across it.
Step 2: Get to the Central Platform
You have a few options here:
- Use the outer rocks as stepping stones. Hop along the rocks that ring the sandpit and use them to cross to the central platform without touching the quicksand. This is the most reliable method.
- Glide down from a higher spot. If there’s elevated terrain nearby and you have enough stamina, you can glide directly onto the central rock.
- Use the Sand Skimmer mount. The Sand Skimmer is the only mount in Crimson Desert that can travel over quicksand without sinking, making it the safest option if you have it unlocked.
- Triple Force Palm into a glide. This also works, but you’ll still need to navigate between the outer rocks, which can be risky if your timing is off.
Step 3: Trigger the Memory Fragment
Once you’re on the central platform, equip your lantern and walk the perimeter of the rock ring. After a moment, a memory fragment will trigger. Your Visione auto-equips and you’ll watch a ghost sequence showing that people once buried treasure here and never came back for it.
Step 4: Dig Up the Sword
After the memory ends, keep your lantern active and look for two small glowing columns of energy on the platform. These mark the buried items. Walk up to each spot and interact with the ground when prompted — the interaction is labeled “Correction” on screen. Kliff digs with his hands, no shovel needed.
You’ll recover two items: the Alabaster Curved Sword and a Modest Silver Pouch. The sword goes straight into your inventory. The silver pouch does not automatically open — you need to open it manually from your inventory to receive the coins inside.

Is the Alabaster Curved Sword Worth Using?
It depends on where you are in the game and what you’re building.
The Alabaster Curved Sword has no unique passive properties. It doesn’t come with a built-in Critical Rate boost like the Acria Sword, and it doesn’t have a unique moveset or special ability. In a straight comparison against weapons with native bonuses, it loses on raw paper stats.
That said, the three Abyss Gear slots give you genuine flexibility.
