Learn how to get the Ogre's Ring Necklace in Crimson Desert. Find the Demeniss Castle Strongbox location, how to sneak in, solve the puzzle, and claim this powerful +11 Attack accessory.

TL;DR

  • The Ogre’s Ring is a legendary necklace found inside Demeniss Castle
  • It’s locked inside a Strongbox hidden behind a false bookcase on the first floor
  • Fast travel to the Pecus Ranch Abyss Nexus, then head north to the castle
  • Climb the castle wall from the west side to enter without triggering guards
  • You must have a Mask equipped to steal the ring after solving the puzzle
  • Fully upgraded it gives +11 flat Attack — one of the best necklaces in the game

The Ogre’s Ring is one of those items that sounds simple to grab until you realize it’s sitting inside a heavily guarded castle, behind a hidden bookcase, locked in a puzzle box. The game gives you no pointer for it. This guide covers the exact location, how to get inside the castle cleanly, and how to solve the strongbox to claim it.

What Is the Ogre’s Ring?

The Ogre’s Ring is a legendary necklace in Crimson Desert. Despite the name, it works as a necklace — it’s a massive ring once worn by an ogre, large enough for a human to wear around their neck. Lore aside, what matters is what it does.

Here’s what it offers at full refinement:

  • +11 flat Attack damage
  • Spirit: +0.4 every second
  • Refinement cap: +10 (11 levels total)
  • Comes at Refinement +5 by default when you find it

Flat attack is one of the cleanest stats in the game. It scales into every build without conditions. Getting this necklace early gives you a straight damage boost that holds up through mid-game and beyond. Where Is the Ogre’s Ring?

The Ogre’s Ring is locked inside a Strongbox on the first floor of Demeniss Castle, at the southwestern corner of the castle interior. The Strongbox itself is hidden behind a rotating bookcase — easy to walk straight past if you don’t know it’s there.

Demeniss Castle sits in the Demeniss region, which is a significant step up in difficulty from Hernand. Make sure your gear is in decent shape before heading here. If you need help with that, see our how to get better equipment guide and our best early build.

What You Need Before Going

A Mask. This is not optional. The item inside the Strongbox counts as stolen property. Without a Mask equipped, you cannot pick it up after solving the puzzle. Buy one from a Back Alley Merchant before making the trip. If you already grabbed one for livestock theft, you’re good to go. Check our guide on how to sell animals in Crimson Desert for more on how the mask system works.

Decent combat readiness. Demeniss Castle has guards. You can sneak past most of them, but if things go wrong, you need to be able to handle a fight or run effectively.

How to Get to Demeniss Castle

Step 1 – Fast Travel to Pecus Ranch Abyss Nexus

The closest fast travel point is the Pecus Ranch Abyss Nexus, located directly south of Demeniss. If you haven’t unlocked it yet, you’ll need to ride up from Hernand and work your way north through the Demeniss region. For fast travel tips, see our fast travel guide.

Step 2 – Head North to Demeniss Castle

From the Abyss Nexus, ride north toward the castle. The castle sits on elevated ground. As you approach, you’ll see the sheer mountain wall forming the castle fortifications ahead of you.

Step 3 – Climb the West Wall

Don’t try to walk through the front gate as Kliff — you’ll be spotted immediately. Instead, go to the west side of the castle and climb the wall there. Kliff can scale sheer vertical surfaces, so get close to the wall and start climbing. Once you reach the top, glide down toward the side entrance to land inside without alerting the guards.

Step 4 – Enter Through the Side Door

Once on the battlements, look for the side entrance on that western face. Slip through the side door to get into the castle interior cleanly.

Finding the Hidden Strongbox

Once inside the castle, you need the first floor, southwestern corner. Head in that direction and look for a bookcase along the wall. This is a rotating bookcase — push it to reveal the hidden room behind it. The Strongbox is inside.

Solving the Demeniss Castle Strongbox Puzzle

The puzzle on this Strongbox uses a four-button sequential press system. The goal is to press the buttons in the correct order so that the image rotates into a complete picture of two deer facing each other. Each button spins different sections of the image.

Number the buttons 1 through 4, from left to right. Press them in the correct sequence to complete the image. The puzzle is fixed — there is no randomisation here, unlike the Sungrove Manor and Lioncrest Manor strongboxes which scramble differently for every player.

Take your time looking at the image sections each button controls before pressing. If you misfire, you can reset and try again — there’s no penalty for failed attempts.

Claiming the Ogre’s Ring

Once the puzzle is solved, the Strongbox opens. Equip your Mask now if you haven’t already. Without it, the interaction to grab the ring won’t work — the item counts as stolen goods even after you’ve cracked the puzzle.

With the Mask on, interact with the box to take the Ogre’s Ring. It goes straight into your inventory. Equip it in your necklace slot immediately if you want the stat boost right away.

Is the Ogre’s Ring Worth Getting?

Absolutely. Eleven flat attack at full refinement is a strong number, and the fact that it arrives already at Refinement +5 means you’re closer to the cap than you’d be with most other accessories you find or craft early on. The Spirit regeneration is a nice bonus on top.

For comparison, the Necklace of Lightning trades some flat damage for critical rate bonuses instead. If you’re running a crit-focused setup, check our Necklace of Lightning location guide. If you want raw damage output, the Ogre’s Ring is the better default pick.

Other Strongboxes Worth Hitting in Demeniss

While you’re in the area, there are several other Strongboxes worth looting. The City of Demeniss has its own Strongbox hidden behind a rotating bookshelf on the first floor of a manor along the north inner wall. There’s also the Western Court box that rewards Karanda’s Necklace, and the Azerian Manor box that gives the Ancient Earring.
