The Golden Plains holds one of the more satisfying hidden puzzles in Crimson Desert. There’s a buried secret chamber underneath the ruins, and cracking it open rewards you with a powerful Abyss Artifact. This guide walks you through how to find the chamber, navigate to it, and solve the mural puzzle inside without the frustration.

How To Reach The Secret Chamber Of The Golden Plains
Head to the Golden Plains near the Byron Estate. Go southeast of the question mark on your map to find a destroyed ruin wrapped in thorny vines. You need to burn these vines to get inside.
You can do this a few ways:
- Fire arrow — Hover a normal arrow over a brazier or torch to ignite it
- Fire weapon — Purchased from a merchant or looted from enemies
- Blinding Flash — Available from early in the game. Check out our Blinding Flash guide if you haven’t used it before
Once inside, you’ll pass through a short corridor of fire traps. Nothing too deadly — just keep moving. The ruins have three rooms. Two are empty and one leads to a large spike-filled room with a zipline.
Use the lantern to aim at the handle above and press Jump to Target to grab it, then slide down safely. From there, enter the room that is half-submerged in water to reach the secret chamber puzzle.
Before you rush to solve it, check the corner. There is another hidden room there packed with treasure — worth stopping for before you do anything else.
How The Puzzle Works
Once inside the chamber, you’ll see a wall covered in symbol blocks. A mural on the wall also shows a map of the Demeniss region with five spots marked in red.
These five marked spots are locations in the world where drawings are painted on the ground. Visiting them tells you which five symbols to press. One thing to note — the mural inside the chamber is flipped. The capital city appears to the north on the mural, but it’s actually in the south on the real world map. Keep that in mind when matching up the marked locations.
You don’t need to visit every location if you already know the answer. The correct symbols are listed below.
Secret Chamber Of The Golden Plains Puzzle Solution
Push the following symbol blocks in any order to solve the puzzle:
- Grapes — leftmost block in the top row
- Horse — rightmost block in the top row
- Pomegranate — middle block of the middle row
- Bird — rightmost block of the middle row
- Fish — rightmost block in the bottom row
The order does not matter. Just make sure all five are pushed in.
How To Push The Buttons
There are two ways to push the buttons. You can climb each block and use Force Palm, but this knocks you backward every time and makes the whole process slow and annoying. The better method is using Axiom Force. Aim at each button and use Force Current to push it from a distance — much faster and far less frustrating.

Puzzle Reward
Once the wall parts, you’ll find an Abyss Cresset inside. Grab the Abyss Artifact and collect your skill point. You’ll also receive the Memories of Prosperity, a consumable that reveals the locations of several caves hidden behind waterfalls across the map.

Tips Before You Head In
- Demeniss can be hostile. Most soldiers in the area will attack Kliff until you’ve completed Chapter 8: Blood Coronation. You can still do the puzzle before that — just expect enemies chasing you while you explore.
- Bring fire. You cannot get past the entrance vines without it.
- Don’t skip the treasure room. The hidden corner room is easy to miss but very much worth the detour.
- Use Force Current. It makes the button puzzle significantly faster than climbing each block manually.
