Each one hides either a fast travel waypoint or a puzzle that rewards you with an Abyss Artifact. The Sunrise Plains ancient ruins is one of the earlier ones you will encounter, and it is a great introduction to the statue rotation mechanic you will see again later in the game.

Where to Find the Sunrise Plains Ancient Ruins

The puzzle is located in Grace Estate, in the southern part of the Hernand region. Specifically, it sits near the Emberwind Workshop, south of the Hernand Highlands.

How to get there:

Start from Glenbright Manor or the Springtide Mill area in Hernand.
Head directly south, past the thick woodland edges.
Cross into the Grace Estate area. You will see the mysterious energy marker on your map once you get close.
Climb the small hill and push through the thorny bushes to reach a clearing.

You can also spot this location from a distance using Blinding Flash — it makes hidden Abyss Cresset locations glow white in the environment. Once you see that glint, you know you are heading the right way.

What Happens When You Arrive

When you first walk into the clearing, you will see four statues surrounding a central pedestal. They are all facing the center — which is actually the correct solution.

Then they move.

Each statue rotates away from the middle, and the puzzle begins. This is the game showing you the answer first and then scrambling it, which is a nice touch. The goal is simple: get all four statues facing inward again.

The tricky part is that the statues are linked. Moving one can move another. If you rotate them in the wrong order, you can make things worse fast.

Step-by-Step Puzzle Solution

Here is the key detail that makes this easy:

Statue 1 controls Statue 2 — rotating Statue 1 will also rotate Statue 2.
Statue 3 controls Statue 4 — rotating Statue 3 will also rotate Statue 4.

With this in mind, the solution only requires two moves:

Step 1: Walk up to Statue 1 (the east-facing one). Use the rotate dial behind it to turn it until it faces the central pedestal. As you do this, Statue 2 will automatically rotate to face the center as well.

Step 2: Walk over to Statue 3 (the north-facing one). Rotate it to face the center. Statue 4 will follow and also turn inward.

That is it. All four statues now face the pedestal. The Abyss Cresset in the middle will light up and activate.

What If the Puzzle Is Broken?

If you accidentally rotated the statues in the wrong order and cannot figure out how to get back to a clean state, do not waste time trying to fix it manually.

The fastest fix is to reload a recent save. This respawns you near the puzzle area and resets the statues to their post-scramble positions, giving you a fresh start. From there, follow the two-step solution above and it will be done in under a minute.

Reward — Abyss Cresset and Abyss Artifact

Once all four statues face the center, the pedestal in the middle activates and reveals the Abyss Cresset. Walk up to it and interact to claim your reward.

You will receive 1x Abyss Artifact. These cube-shaped items are used in the skill tree to unlock new abilities or upgrade core stats like health, stamina, and attack power.

Is This the Only Statue Puzzle?

No. This is the simplest version of the statue rotation puzzle type, and it is basically a tutorial. Later in the game you will face more complex versions of the same mechanic.
