TL;DR

  • The Golden Plains puzzle requires you to rotate four statues so they all face the middle.
  • You only need to interact with two statues — each one moves another automatically.
  • One statue is hidden behind bushes inside a hole in the wall. Free it first by burning the vines.
  • Burn the vines using a fire arrow, fire weapon, or the Blinding Flash skill.
  • Rotate Statue 1 toward the middle — Statue 3 follows.
  • Rotate Statue 4 toward the middle — Statue 2 follows.
  • This reveals the Abyss Cresset and lets you claim the Abyss Artifact inside.
  • The puzzle is very similar to the Sunrise Plains one if you have done that already.

The Golden Plains Ancient Ruins puzzle is one of the more straightforward statue puzzles in Crimson Desert — once you know what to do. The tricky part is that one of the four statues is completely hidden behind bushes and vines. If you do not free it first, the puzzle cannot be completed.

Once all four statues are active, you only need to interact with two of them. Each statue you rotate also moves a linked one, so two moves is all it takes.

This guide covers where to find the puzzle, how to free the hidden statue, and exactly which statues to rotate to solve it fast.

Where Is the Golden Plains Puzzle?

The Golden Plains Ancient Ruins puzzle is located very close to two other landmarks you may already know. It sits near the secret chamber ruins and the church where you encounter the Crow.

Unlike some other Ancient Ruins in Crimson Desert, this puzzle is not hidden underground and does not require a complicated entry. It is out in the open. If you have already solved the Sunrise Plains Ancient Ruins puzzle, this one will feel very familiar — they use the same rotating statue mechanic.

For more context on what you are working toward, our guide on the Secret Chamber Golden Plains puzzle covers the nearby ruins in detail.

Step 1 — Free the Hidden Statue First

Before you touch any of the statues, you need to deal with the hidden one.

Look for a hole in the wall near the puzzle area. Inside that hole, you will see bushes and vines wrapped around something. That is Statue 4. It is completely blocked and cannot rotate until you remove the vines.

You have three ways to burn them:

Fire arrow — Craft one on the spot by holding a normal arrow over a lit brazier or torch. The arrow will catch fire and you can shoot the vines directly.

Fire weapon — Either buy one from a merchant or loot one from an enemy in the area. If you already have one equipped, this is the fastest method.

Blinding Flash skill — This skill is available from the very beginning of Crimson Desert. Kliff uses the reflection of his sword to either blind enemies or ignite things. Point it at the vines and they will burn. Read our full guide on how to use Blinding Flash if you are unsure how it works.

Once the vines are gone, Statue 4 is free and the puzzle can be completed.

How the Statue System Works

There are four statues in total. Each one is linked to another. When you rotate one statue, it also moves the statue it is connected to.

This means you need to think before you spin. Rotating the wrong statue first can push other statues out of alignment and make the puzzle harder to finish. The good news is that the correct sequence only requires two moves and solves everything cleanly.

Here is how the links work:

  • Rotating Statue 2 will also move Statue 1.
  • Rotating Statue 1 will also move Statue 3.

Keep this in mind. You want to use the statues that move the right partners without undoing your progress.

Golden Plains Puzzle Solution — Step by Step

Move 1

Approach Statue 1 and rotate it to face the middle. As it turns, Statue 3 will automatically turn with it. Both statues are now facing the centre.

Move 2

Head to Statue 4 — the one you just freed from the vines — and rotate it to face the middle. As it turns, Statue 2 will automatically follow. Both statues now face the centre.

All four statues are now facing the middle. The puzzle is solved.

What Happens After You Solve It?

The Abyss Cresset is revealed once all four statues are aligned. Head inside and collect the Abyss Artifact.

The Abyss Cresset also serves as a fast travel point from this moment on. You can return to the Golden Plains area instantly using it whenever you need to. This is worth remembering if you are doing quests or gathering in this part of the map.

Tips for This Puzzle

  • Always free the hidden statue behind the vines before attempting anything else. Skipping this step means the puzzle cannot be completed.
  • The fire arrow method is the easiest if you do not have a fire weapon. Any torch or brazier in the area works.
  • You only need two interactions to solve this. Do not overthink it.
  • If you accidentally rotate the wrong statue and things get misaligned, keep rotating until everything lines up. There is no permanent fail state.
  • The Abyss Cresset unlocks fast travel to this spot. Make sure you activate it before leaving.
