TL;DR
- Roze’s Highrise Armory Key is a Legendary key that is only obtained by completing the Operation Grid Assault Story Mission.
- The armory is located on Floor 14 of the Netshin Tech Complex inside The Grid, at Tac-Map grid G6.
- To reach it, enter the Netshin Tech Complex through the main entrance, take the right-side elevator to a balcony, then climb the stairs to Floor 14.
- On Floor 14, head to the eastern section and look for an unmarked door — that’s Roze’s Highrise Armory.
- Inside you’ll find a Lieutenant Crate, two Weapon Lockers, and multiple loot bags — with weapon blueprints and legendary weapons among the possible drops.
- Operation Grid Assault is a Tier 2 Story Mission, so you must complete all three Tier 1 missions first before it unlocks.
- The Grid is rated EXTREME threat — bring a 3-Plate Armor Vest, a Medkit, and a fully kitted weapon.
Roze’s Highrise Armory is one of the most rewarding locked rooms in MW4 DMZ — but it’s also one of the hardest to access. The key doesn’t drop from random loot. It’s a direct reward tied to a story mission set in one of the most dangerous areas on the entire Hajin map. This guide covers how to get the key, exactly where the armory door is, and what to expect inside.
What Is Roze’s Highrise Armory Key?
Roze’s Highrise Armory Key is a Legendary-rarity key item that opens a special locked room inside the Netshin Tech Complex in The Grid. Unlike most keys in MW4 DMZ that can be found through world loot, this one has a single confirmed source: completing the Operation Grid Assault Story Mission.
The key is tied directly to Roze — one of the 10 Lieutenants in DMZ — whose territory covers DBN Headquarters in The Grid. The armory itself sits in the adjacent Netshin Tech Complex, also within The Grid’s footprint at Tac-Map grid G6.
Make sure to store the key in the Secure slot of a Rare or higher backpack once you earn it. The Secure slot protects items from being lost if you die before you can use it.
How to Get Roze’s Highrise Armory Key — Complete Operation Grid Assault
The only way to get Roze’s Highrise Armory Key is to complete Operation Grid Assault, the fourth Story Mission in the DMZ story tree. It rewards the key alongside a Helicopter and $25,000 cash on completion.
How to Unlock Operation Grid Assault
Operation Grid Assault is a Tier 2 Story Mission. That means you can’t jump straight to it — you have to complete all three Tier 1 missions first. The Tier 1 missions are:
- Operation Critical Extraction — Mirae General Hospital
- Operation Silent Ledger — Cheongun Village casino
- Operation Shopping Hacks — NuriGO Mall
Once all three are done, Operation Grid Assault and Operation Iron Citadel unlock as the middle row of the mission tree. Select Operation Grid Assault from the Story Missions menu at your FOB to deploy directly into The Grid.
You can track your mission progress and rewards from the full MW4 DMZ all story missions and rewards guide.
Operation Grid Assault Walkthrough
This mission takes place across DBN Headquarters and Hanex Bank in The Grid — both rated EXTREME threat. A Radiation Countdown timer runs during the mission, so keep moving. Here’s the objective order:
- Objective 1 — Find the Drone Control: Head to the marked rooms on the upper floors of DBN Headquarters and interact with the Drone Control terminal.
- Objective 2 — Get the First Code Segment: The first half of the encrypted hash key is inside Hanex Bank, across the street. Ride the lift up to the office floors and retrieve it.
- Objective 3 — Kill Lieutenant Roze / Get the Second Code Segment: Roze fights on the broken upper levels of DBN Headquarters. Fight through her guards, push to her position, and take her down. Killing Roze also completes the optional Kill Roze Side Op simultaneously. She drops the second code segment on death.
- Objective 4 — Compile the Code: Combine both hash key halves using the marked terminal on Floor 10 of DBN Headquarters. Drop down a cable shaft marked “10 ENTRANCE” on the wall to reach it.
- Objective 5 — Upload the Kill Switch: Head to the DBN Headquarters rooftop and defend the antenna upload. A Commander attack helicopter and waves of enemies push in during this phase — use HVAC units and overhangs for cover. Send one squad member to complete the upload while others hold perimeter.
- Objective 6 — Broadcast the Kill Code: Climb the lattice tower on the roof and broadcast from the top. The MISSION COMPLETE / STORY MISSION banner appears once the broadcast is done.
After the mission completes, you still need to exfil — the mission completion doesn’t extract you automatically. Commander Colossus can be roaming The Grid streets on your way to an exfil point, so stay alert. The DMZ boss locations guide covers where Commanders patrol across Hajin.
Where Is Roze’s Highrise Armory? (Exact Location)

With the key in hand, the armory is found inside Netshin Tech Complex, which sits next door to DBN Headquarters in The Grid at grid square G6. Here’s the route to the armory door:
- Step 1: Enter Netshin Tech Complex through the main entrance doors on the ground floor.
- Step 2: On the ground floor, find the elevator shaft on the right side of the building. Take it up to access a balcony.
- Step 3: From the balcony, find the stairwell and climb to Floor 14. The stairs take you all the way up — there’s no shortcut elevator to the top floors.
- Step 4: On Floor 14, navigate to the eastern section of the complex. Look for an unmarked door — it won’t have a clear label, so scan the eastern wall carefully. This is the entrance to Roze’s Highrise Armory.
The armory door is teal-colored and will display a lock prompt when you approach. Interact with it while the key is in your inventory to unlock it.
One thing to note: Jang-ui, another Lieutenant, also guards Netshin Tech Complex — specifically around Floor 14 in the server hall. You may encounter him on your way up. His intel can be purchased from the Wanted Hunter system if you want to make the most of the trip.
What’s Inside Roze’s Highrise Armory?
The armory is a high-value loot room that makes the run worth it. Inside you’ll find:
- 1 Lieutenant Crate — a guaranteed high-rarity container
- 2 Weapon Lockers — which can drop weapon blueprints
- Multiple loot bags — additional loose loot across the room
Players have reported pulling two weapon blueprints and two legendary weapons from a single armory run. The exact loot is not fixed — some of it is randomised between deployments — but the room consistently delivers high-tier gear. It’s one of the better guaranteed high-value loot rooms in the game, making it worth planning an entire deployment around once you have the key.

How to Prepare for The Grid Run
The Grid is the most dangerous area in southern Hajin. Both DBN Headquarters and Netshin Tech Complex carry an EXTREME threat rating, and the Deathstalker Commander helicopter can spawn above the area on top of the regular AI density. Here’s what to bring:
- 3-Plate Armor Vest — the official Recommended Equipment for Operation Grid Assault and a must for Extreme-threat zones. Craft one at the FOB 3D Printer before deploying.
- Medkit — also listed as Recommended Equipment for the mission. Carry one per squad member.
- Strong primary weapon — something that can engage at range for the rooftop sections and up close for the building interiors. See the DMZ Gunsmith weapons guide for loadout recommendations.
- Rare Backpack or higher — you need the Secure slot to safely carry the key and any high-value items you pull from the armory. Items in the Secure slot survive death.
- Strong Operator Traits — Possum (free self-revive), Quick Fix (health regen on kill), and Numb the Pain (revive boost for squad) are all valuable in Extreme-threat areas. See the best Traits in MW4 DMZ guide for a full build guide.
Tips for Using the Key Efficiently
- Run the armory the same deployment as Grid Assault. If you complete Operation Grid Assault and receive the key, The Grid is still active around you. Head straight to the Netshin Tech Complex next door rather than exfilling and redeploying — it saves a run and reduces the risk of losing the key to an unexpected death before you use it.
- Clear Jang-ui before entering the armory. Lieutenant Jang-ui patrols Floor 14 of Netshin Tech Complex. Clearing him first means your armory visit is uninterrupted, and his drop — a Legendary or Ultra PAEKTU rifle worth up to $11,200 — makes the floor worth sweeping anyway.
- Don’t linger after looting. The Grid stays extremely active even after the mission completes. Other squads may have deployed specifically to contest this area. Get in, loot the armory, and move to exfil without delay.
- Bring a squad. The Grid run and the armory visit are both doable solo but are significantly safer with two or three players. One person covers the building approaches while others clear each floor.
- Use the Secure backpack slot for the key and any legendary drops. If another squad wipes you on the way out of the armory, anything in the Secure slot stays with your Operator for recovery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you get Roze’s Highrise Armory Key from world loot in MW4 DMZ?
No. Roze’s Highrise Armory Key is only obtained by completing Operation Grid Assault. It is not a world loot drop and cannot be found in containers, from enemies, or as random loot.
Can you use the key more than once?
No. Like all keys in MW4 DMZ, Roze’s Highrise Armory Key is a single-use item. Once you unlock the armory door, the key is consumed. You’d need to complete Operation Grid Assault again on a future deployment to get another key — though the story mission can typically only be completed once per account progression.
Is Roze’s Highrise Armory different from fighting Roze herself?
Yes. Fighting Lieutenant Roze happens at DBN Headquarters during the Grid Assault mission. The Highrise Armory is a separate locked room in the Netshin Tech Complex next door. Killing Roze during the mission is how you get the second code segment — the armory key comes from completing the full mission, not just killing Roze.
What tier is Operation Grid Assault?
It’s a Tier 2 Story Mission. You must first complete all three Tier 1 missions — Operation Critical Extraction, Operation Silent Ledger, and Operation Shopping Hacks — before it unlocks.
What threat level is The Grid in MW4 DMZ?
The Grid is rated EXTREME threat, the highest in the game. DBN Headquarters and Netshin Tech Complex specifically carry EXTREME ratings. This is the same tier as the 14th Political Prison and The Grid’s main central areas. Come prepared.
