TL;DR
- Red Zones are optional combat arenas locked behind Red Gate Keys.
- There are Red Zones across all five sectors: Solar Power Plant, Mass Production Array, Terra Dome, Lunum Mines, and Central Port.
- Rewards include Pure Lunum, Mods, Storage Expanders, and Upgrade Components.
- Red Gate Keys are found in the wild or bought through Cabin’s Stamp Club using Cabin Coins.
- Red Zone rewards count toward 100% completion — the keys themselves do not.
- You can return to any Red Zone at any time, even after the story ends in Unknown Signal Mode.
Pragmata is filled with optional combat challenges tucked behind red barriers in every sector. These are the Red Zones, and they are some of the toughest fights in the game. But they are also some of the most rewarding. The Pure Lunum you earn inside is what allows you to push your weapon upgrades to their highest tiers.
This guide covers every Red Zone location across all five sectors, where to find the Red Gate Keys to open them, what enemies you will face, and what rewards you will walk out with.

What Are Red Zones in Pragmata?
Red Zones are optional combat arenas found throughout every sector of Pragmata. You will spot them on your map as areas cordoned off and marked as hazardous. On the ground level, they appear as red transparent barriers blocking a doorway or passage.
To enter a Red Zone, you need a Red Gate Key. Interact with the lock panel on the right side of the barrier to check what is inside and use your key to unlock the door.
Inside, you face waves of enemies. When the last enemy falls, a chest or series of chests opens with your rewards.
Red Zones also unlock tiles on Cabin’s Stamp Club boards back at the Shelter. Every board has at least one tile that requires a specific Red Zone to be cleared before it opens.
Importantly, Red Zones and Red Gate Keys themselves do not count toward 100% sector completion. However, the rewards inside them — Pure Lunum, Mods, Storage Expanders — do count. So you need to clear every Red Zone to reach 100%.
How to Get Red Gate Keys
There are two main ways to get Red Gate Keys in Pragmata.
Finding them in the wild. Some Red Gate Keys are placed directly in the sectors, usually nearby a Red Zone or slightly further ahead on the main path. These are free and require no Cabin Coins. Specific found-in-the-wild locations are listed per sector below.
Cabin’s Stamp Club. Once you defeat the Sector Guard in Sector 1 and return to the Shelter, you unlock Cabin as an NPC. Cabin runs the Stamp Club, a bingo-style board where you spend Cabin Coins to reveal tiles. Some tiles contain Red Gate Keys. Each Cabin Bingo board tends to have at least one key available this way.
To earn Cabin Coins, you can collect Read Earth Memories (REM) scattered across sectors and trade them to Diana in the Shelter. You also earn Cabin Coins from Safe Boxes and by completing Training Simulations. Running Training Sims is one of the fastest ways to stack coins if you already have the sim-access upgrades.
To maximize your keys, save them for sectors where you know there are multiple high-value rewards. Do not burn early keys on low-tier rooms if you have the option to find them in the wild nearby.

Sector 1 – Solar Power Plant Red Zones
The Solar Power Plant is your first sector and the game’s introduction to combat, hacking, and exploration. There is one Red Zone here, and it is tied to backtracking once you have the Lim Eraser.

Red Zone: Power Distribution Center
How to Find It: After returning to the Solar Power Plant with the Lim Eraser (which you pick up automatically during Sector 2), you can open a previously blocked passage in the Power Distribution Center. This leads into a new combat encounter.
Red Gate Key Location: You need a key from Cabin’s Stamp Club for this one. No key is found in the wild nearby.
Reward: Pure Lunum + Safe Box 2
This Red Zone is easy to miss on your first visit because the passage that leads to it requires the Lim Eraser, which you do not have yet. Make a note to return here after you progress into Sector 2.
For a full look at everything else in this area, see our Solar Power Plant Collectibles guide and the Mini Cabins Solar Power Plant guide.
Sector 2 – Mass Production Array Red Zones
The Mass Production Array is the sector themed around a lunar recreation of Times Square. It is also the first sector where Red Zones are properly introduced, and you will find two of them here.
Red Zone: Shopping District
How to Find It: This Red Zone is almost impossible to miss. It sits directly on the main story path, shortly after the cutscene where a large enemy chases you and Diana hacks a gate shut. Keep moving forward and the red barrier will be on your right.
Red Gate Key Location: Continue past the Red Zone door. After a short fight, you will enter a diner. Walk to the counter and pick up the red case sitting on it — that is your Red Gate Key. Return to the barrier and unlock it.
Reward: Pure Lunum
This is a straightforward fight inside a relatively empty room with spawning enemies coming out of pods. Clear the room and grab your reward from the chest.
Red Zone: Business District
How to Find It: Found later in the Mass Production Array during the Business District section. Look for the red barrier on the left side of the area near the locked door leading to the next part of the level.
Red Gate Key Location: A Safe Box sits near the Red Zone entrance. The Red Gate Key for this one needs to come from Cabin’s Stamp Club — specifically the Orbit Our World shop area also has a key available shortly after the first Red Zone if you missed it.
Reward: Pocket Refinery Mod (receive 10% more Lunafilament) + Pure Lunum
The Pocket Refinery mod is genuinely useful for farming upgrade materials faster, so this one is worth prioritizing.
For every other collectible in this sector, see our Mass Production Array Collectibles guide and Mini Cabins Mass Production Array guide.

Sector 3 – Terra Dome Red Zones
Terra Dome is Pragmata’s largest and most collectible-dense sector, with 47 total items spread across five sub-areas. It has three Red Zones — one of which is mandatory.
Red Zone: Plant Factory (Terra Dome Entrance)
How to Find It: This Red Zone is at the end of the Plant Factory decontamination chamber in the Terra Dome Entrance area. It does not matter whether you take the A or B route through the chambers — both paths lead to this same Red Zone. This one is mandatory and you cannot skip it to progress.
Red Gate Key Location: There is no key found nearby in the wild. You need to use a key from Cabin’s Stamp Club. Check the bottom right tile of the Associate board to find one, and collect more Cabin Coins if needed.
Reward: Pure Lunum
Red Zone: Eco Modeling Lab
How to Find It: This Red Zone is in the main atrium of the Eco Modeling Lab, right next to the Escape Hatch in that area. You encounter it while placing the three Gen Chips to progress the story. It is hard to miss.
Red Gate Key Location: The Escape Hatch and Red Zone entrance are next to each other. Use a key from your inventory — this one also requires a Stamp Club key unless you have been saving one.
Reward: Mod 3 (Collateral Damage) + Pure Lunum
The Collateral Damage mod is worth picking up, especially for crowd-heavy fights later in the game.
Red Zone: Terrarium
How to Find It: Found toward the end of Terra Dome in the Terrarium area, to the left of the locked door and Escape Hatch near the end of the level.
Red Gate Key Location: If you have spent every key up to this point, you need to complete the Terra Dome level first to unlock the Specialist bingo board, which contains another Red Gate Key.
Reward: Pure Lunum + Storage Expander (upgrades Diana’s hacking gauge)
This Red Zone features a heavy number of invisible enemies. Bring Stasis Net and the Decoy Generator. The Stasis Net stalls their movement and the Decoy pulls them into a predictable spot for follow-up attacks. The Storage Expander reward here is excellent — Diana’s hacking gauge is a core part of the combat system and expanding it makes a big difference.
Sector 4 – Lunum Mines Red Zones
The Lunum Mines sector introduces more environmental hazards and the Luna Digger roaming certain areas. You need to get past the Luna Digger boss before the Red Zones open up. There are two Red Zones here.
Red Zone: Warehouse Entrance
How to Find It: The Red Zone is right next to the Warehouse Entrance Escape Hatch. You will reach this area naturally after defeating the Luna Digger boss encounter.
Red Gate Key Location: If you have used every key to this point, a Red Gate Key can be found later in the level inside the lab in the Main Excavation Site area. Come back for this one after finding that key.
Reward: Storage Expander + Pure Lunum
Red Zone: Main Excavation Site
How to Find It: Found in the same building area as the key mentioned above. Look for the red barrier entrance in the same area as the second building you explore in this section of Lunum Mines.
Red Gate Key Location: Found inside the lab in the Main Excavation Site area. Pick it up and you can use it for either this Red Zone or the Warehouse Entrance one depending on which you tackle first.
Reward: Storage Expander 2 + Pure Lunum
This Red Zone is considered one of the hardest in the game. It is packed with high-level robots and the room gives limited room to maneuver. Use AoE weapons and bring the Confuse hacking node. Confuse turns enemies on each other temporarily, giving you breathing room to focus on priority targets.
For the full breakdown of Lunum Mines items see the Training Data Locations guide.
Sector 5 – Central Port Red Zones
Central Port is the final sector in Pragmata’s main story. The Advanced Pragmatics area within this sector has no collectibles, but Central Port itself rounds out the last Red Zone opportunities before the endgame.
Red Zones in Central Port follow the same structure — find the red barrier on your map, source a Red Gate Key either from the area or from Cabin’s Stamp Club, and clear the enemies inside for your rewards. By this point in the game you should have several Cabin Coins saved up and access to the higher-tier Stamp boards, which contain more frequent Red Gate Key rewards.
Red Zone Rewards Summary
Every Red Zone in Pragmata rewards you with some combination of the following:
Pure Lunum is the most common and most important reward. It is required to upgrade your weapons to their highest tiers at the Firmware Upgrader in the Shelter. You cannot max out your loadout without clearing the Red Zones.
Mods are equippable modifiers for Hugh that change how his combat works. Examples found in Red Zones include Extended Breach, Collateral Damage, Cheap Shot, and Pocket Refinery.
Storage Expanders increase the size of Diana’s hacking gauge. A larger gauge means more hacks available mid-fight, which is central to Pragmata’s combat system.
Upgrade Components are materials used at the Firmware Upgrader back at the Shelter to strengthen Hugh’s core stats and abilities.
Tips for Clearing Red Zones
Upgrade before you go in. Red Zones scale with the sector you are in but always feature tougher enemy compositions than the surrounding area. Spend your Lunafilament at the Shelter before attempting a Red Zone.
Use Diana actively. Hacking enemies during Red Zone fights fills your Overdrive gauge faster. When full, Overdrive Protocol immobilizes enemies and opens weak spots. This is your biggest DPS window — use it on the heaviest enemy in the room.
Use the Decoy Generator. In rooms with multiple enemies, the Decoy pulls aggro and clusters enemies for AoE follow-up. Especially useful in the Terrarium Red Zone with invisible enemies.
Confuse is powerful. The Confuse hacking node makes enemies attack each other. It effectively removes one enemy from the fight and damages others in the process. Essential in the Main Excavation Site Red Zone in Lunum Mines.
You can always return. Red Zones never lock permanently. If you find a zone but do not have a key, come back later. Unknown Signal Mode after the story lets you revisit every sector with all abilities unlocked, making it easy to mop up anything you missed.

Final Word
Red Zones are optional on paper, but in practice you will want every one of them. The Pure Lunum drops are the main path to maxing out your weapons, and the Mods and Storage Expanders make a real difference in how fights feel by the time you reach the later sectors.
Source your Red Gate Keys early by working through Cabin’s Stamp Club and keeping an eye out for keys placed in the wild around each sector. Never go into a Red Zone underprepared — spend your Lunafilament, upgrade your gear at the Shelter, and make sure Diana’s hacking upgrades are current before you step through the barrier.
