Pragmata Storage Expander Locations – All 5 in Every Sector

Find all 5 Storage Expander locations in Pragmata across every sector. Full guide to where they are, how to reach them, and what they do for Diana's hacking gauge.

TL;DR

  • There are 5 Storage Expanders total across Pragmata’s five sectors.
  • They expand Diana’s Hacking Gauge, letting you use Overdrive Protocol more often.
  • Storage Expanders count toward 100% sector completion.
  • Two require backtracking — one needs the Lim Eraser, one needs the Cleansing ability.
  • Two come from Red Zones, so you need Red Gate Keys to access them.
  • All 5 can be picked up in Unknown Signal Mode if you miss them during your first run.

Storage Expanders are one of the most impactful upgrades you can find in Pragmata. They directly expand Diana’s Hacking Gauge, which is the segmented ring in the bottom-left of your screen. A bigger gauge means you can fill it faster through hacking and use Overdrive Protocol more frequently. Since Overdrive is how you immobilize and open enemies for massive damage, finding every Storage Expander should be a priority.

There are exactly 5 Storage Expanders in the entire game, spread across four of the five sectors. This guide covers every single one — where it is, how to get it, and whether you need a specific ability or Red Gate Key to reach it.

What Does the Storage Expander Do?

The Storage Expander upgrades Diana’s Hacking Gauge — not to be confused with general hacking damage upgrades at the Firmware Updater.

Every successful hack you complete fills the Hacking Gauge a little. When the gauge is full, you can activate Overdrive Protocol. This ability blasts nearby enemies, immobilizes them, and forces them into the OPEN state all at once. It is your biggest damage window in any fight and essential for bosses and elite encounters.

A larger gauge means it takes more hacks to fill it, but you also hold more charge before spending it. This gives you more flexibility over when to unleash Overdrive rather than accidentally triggering it mid-hack. You can also spend Lunafilament at the Unit Printer to increase how fast the gauge fills per hack, which stacks nicely with the extra capacity Storage Expanders provide.

Because Storage Expanders count toward 100% completion in each sector, you need all five to unlock The Right Man for the Job achievement and complete Unknown Signal Mode after the story.

Pragmata Storage Expander 1 Solar Power Plant
Pragmata Storage Expander 1 Solar Power Plant

Storage Expander 1 – Solar Power Plant (Generator Entrance)

Sub-Area: Generator Entrance

Requirement: Lim Eraser (story unlock from Mass Production Array 05 — requires backtracking)

How to Get It: Early in the Solar Power Plant, you will notice a door labeled Test Module 0058 blocked by Lunafilament. You can see it right after restoring power in the Generator Entrance area, but you cannot open it on your first visit. The Lim Eraser is not available until you progress deep into Sector 2 — the Mass Production Array.

Once you have the Lim Eraser, fast travel back to the Solar Power Plant via the Shelter’s tram and head to the Generator Entrance. Use the Lim Eraser on the Lunafilament blocking the door. The Storage Expander is inside.

This is the only Storage Expander in the Solar Power Plant, and it is the one most commonly missed on a first playthrough because of how early the door appears before you have any way to open it. Make a mental note of it when you first see it and come back as soon as you unlock the Lim Eraser in Sector 2.

Storage Expander 2 – Terra Dome (Terrarium Red Zone)

Sub-Area: Terrarium (end of Terra Dome)

Requirement: Red Gate Key

How to Get It: Toward the end of Terra Dome, you will reach the Terrarium area. The Red Zone entrance is to the left of the large WARNING door, right next to the Escape Hatch in this section. You need a Red Gate Key to unlock the barrier.

If you have used every key you collected or bought through Cabin’s Stamp Club by this point, you need to complete Terra Dome first to unlock the Specialist bingo board, which contains another Red Gate Key.

Inside the Red Zone, expect a large number of invisible enemies. This is one of the trickier combat arenas in the game. Use the Stasis Net to lock enemies in place and the Decoy Generator to pull them into a predictable cluster. Invisible enemies still get tagged by AoE effects, so area-denial tools are more effective than trying to track individual targets.

Clear the room and the chest opens with Pure Lunum and Storage Expander 1 for Terra Dome. This is the only Storage Expander in the entire Terra Dome sector and one you absolutely should not skip.

Storage Expander 3 – Lunum Mines (Mine Entrance — Cleansing Required)

Sub-Area: Mine Entrance (LunaDigger area)

Requirement: Cleansing ability (story unlock from Central Port 01 — requires backtracking)

How to Get It: During your first pass through the Mine Entrance, you will reach an outdoor area where you can repel the LunaDigger. On the right side of this area, there is a path blocked by Dead Lunafilament. You cannot clear this on your first visit because the Cleansing ability is not unlocked until later in Sector 5 — Central Port.

Once you have Cleansing, fast travel back to Lunum Mines and head to the LunaDigger repel area. Use Cleansing on the blockage on the right side to open a new path. Drop down into the pit below to find the Storage Expander. Safe Box 2 and Safe Box 3 are in the same area, so grab all three while you are here. After activating a panel at the bottom of the pit, you can climb back up to reach the remaining items.

This is Storage Expander 1 within the Lunum Mines sector. It is easy to walk past the blocked path on your first visit without realizing what is behind it, since the LunaDigger is a major distraction in that section.

Storage Expander 4 – Lunum Mines (Main Excavation Site Red Zone)

Sub-Area: Main Excavation Site (Warehouse area)

Requirement: Red Gate Key

How to Get It: After getting past the LunaDigger boss encounter and reaching the Warehouse section of Lunum Mines, you will find a Red Zone entrance next to the Warehouse Entrance Escape Hatch. This is one of the most demanding Red Zones in the game.

If you have spent every Red Gate Key by this point, a new one can be found later in the same level — inside the lab in the Main Excavation Site area. Pick it up and return to the Warehouse Entrance Red Zone.

Inside, you will face a wave of high-level robots in a confined space. Bring AoE-capable weapons and the Confuse hacking node. Confuse turns enemies against each other, which effectively removes one target from the fight and chips down the others simultaneously. This is essential here because the sheer density of strong enemies in a small room makes head-on fighting very costly.

Clear the arena and you earn Storage Expander 2 for Lunum Mines plus a Pure Lunum. Both are excellent rewards, and the Storage Expander here makes a real difference going into the final sector.

Storage Expander 5 – Central Port (Red Zone near Escape Hatch 4)

Sub-Area: Central Port 03 (the longest sub-area in the final sector)

Requirement: Red Gate Key

How to Get It: In Central Port, progress through the sector until you reach the room with taxis sticking out of the wall — this is where Escape Hatch 4 is located and it is hard to miss. After activating the Escape Hatch, turn around and walk through the door directly behind you. The Red Zone entrance, Storage Expander 1 for Central Port, and Pure Lunum 4 are all together in this room.

This is the most straightforward of the three Red Zone Storage Expanders. The key and the reward are in very close proximity, and the Red Zone itself is nearby enough that you do not need to backtrack far. Use a Red Gate Key on the barrier and clear the enemies inside to claim your Storage Expander.

This is the fifth and final Storage Expander in Pragmata. Picking it up here late in the final sector should put you at full capacity for the game’s closing stretch.

All Storage Expander Locations – Quick Reference

Here is a fast summary of all five locations:

Storage Expander 1 – Solar Power Plant, Generator Entrance Locked behind Lunafilament at door Test Module 0058. Requires the Lim Eraser. Backtrack from Sector 2 once you unlock it.

Storage Expander 2 – Terra Dome, Terrarium Red Zone Left of the WARNING door at the end of Terra Dome. Needs a Red Gate Key. Reward from the Red Zone combat arena. Watch out for invisible enemies inside.

Storage Expander 3 – Lunum Mines, Mine Entrance On the right side of the first LunaDigger repel area. Blocked by Dead Lunafilament. Needs the Cleansing ability from Central Port 01. Backtrack once unlocked.

Storage Expander 4 – Lunum Mines, Main Excavation Site (Warehouse Red Zone) Next to the Warehouse Entrance Escape Hatch. Needs a Red Gate Key. One of the hardest Red Zones in the game — bring AoE weapons and Confuse.

Storage Expander 5 – Central Port, Central Port 03 Right behind Escape Hatch 4 in the taxi room. Needs a Red Gate Key. Red Zone and reward are in the same room — very easy to grab if you have a key ready.

Abilities You Need for Backtracking

Two of the five Storage Expanders cannot be grabbed on your first visit to their area. Here is a quick breakdown of what you need:

Lim Eraser — Unlocked automatically during Mass Production Array 05 as part of the story. This lets you dissolve blue Lunafilament blockages. You need it for Storage Expander 1 in the Solar Power Plant. As soon as you unlock it, it is worth fast-travelling back to the Solar Power Plant immediately.

Cleansing — Unlocked automatically during Central Port 01 after fixing Diana. This lets you remove Dead Lunafilament. You need it for Storage Expander 3 in the Lunum Mines Mine Entrance area. Once unlocked, the game also flags several other items across Mass Production Array and Terra Dome that become accessible, so do a full backtrack sweep at this point.

If you miss either of these on your main run, Unknown Signal Mode after the story keeps all sectors open with all abilities active, so you can collect everything without pressure.

Tips for Collecting All Storage Expanders

Do your backtrack sweeps at the right time. As soon as the Lim Eraser unlocks in Mass Production Array 05, go back to the Solar Power Plant before continuing. When Cleansing unlocks in Central Port 01, sweep Lunum Mines, Terra Dome, and Mass Production Array before pushing through to the end of the game.

Save Red Gate Keys for Storage Expanders. Three out of five Storage Expanders are locked behind Red Zones. Do not burn all your keys on early Red Zones if you have not done the Terra Dome Terrarium, Lunum Mines Warehouse, and Central Port 03 Red Zones yet. Earn more Cabin Coins through Training Simulations and REM trades if your supply runs low.

Use Unknown Signal Mode as a safety net. If you are mid-playthrough and realize you missed something, do not panic. Nothing in Pragmata is permanently missable. Unknown Signal Mode after the story opens every sector with all abilities and lets you clean up at your own pace.

Track your progress with the in-game completion meter. Each sector has a progress counter visible from the Shelter. If a sector shows less than 100%, the meter helps you narrow down which type of item you still need.

Final Word

All five Storage Expanders are worth hunting down. Two require specific story abilities to reach, and three come from Red Zones, so you need a steady supply of Red Gate Keys from Cabin’s Stamp Club.

The payoff is real. More Hacking Gauge capacity means Overdrive Protocol comes up more often, fights feel less punishing, and the whole combat loop clicks better in the late game. Get the Lim Eraser sweep done early, save keys for the Red Zone Expanders, and grab the Cleansing ones the moment that ability unlocks.
