Saros: How to Farm Lucenite Fast – Best Tips and Methods

Learn how to farm Lucenite fast in Saros with tips on biome reruns, Drive stat upgrades, Eclipse sections, Aether conversion, Armor Matrix skills, and more.

TL;DR

  • Lucenite is your main currency in Saros — it powers Proficiency during runs and funds Armor Matrix upgrades.
  • Push deeper into runs rather than resetting early — longer runs always pay out more Lucenite.
  • Always activate the Eclipse — enemies drop more Lucenite when it is active.
  • Upgrade the Drive stat early — it multiplies how much Lucenite you earn from every pickup.
  • Pick up Aether at full health — it converts into Lucenite instead of being wasted.
  • Use the Jump Network Pad mid-run to bank Lucenite safely before heading back out.
  • Unlock Lucenite Extension, Lucenite Saver, and Lucenite Magnetism in the Armor Matrix to maximise gains.

Saros: How to Farm Lucenite Fast

Saros runs on Lucenite. It is the yellow crystal currency that shows up in every biome, drops from every enemy, and funds almost every upgrade in the game. During a run, collecting it raises your Proficiency Level, which determines how powerful the weapons you find will be. Back at the Passage, it is what you spend at the Armor Matrix to make Arjun permanently stronger between runs.

The problem is that Lucenite disappears fast. Enemy drops vanish in seconds if you do not collect them, and dying costs you a significant portion of what you gathered. Farming it efficiently matters a lot, especially early on when upgrades are expensive and every run feels like a grind.

This guide covers every method for farming Lucenite fast in Saros, including the best Armor Matrix upgrades that make the process even smoother. For a full breakdown of all resources in the game, see our Saros All Resources and Currencies guide.

Push Deeper into Runs — Do Not Reset Early

The single most effective way to earn more Lucenite is simply to go further in each run. Many players reset early after a bad start or a close call. That is a mistake.

When you die, you keep a portion of the Lucenite you collected. That means a messy run that reaches the second biome will almost always bring back more Lucenite than a clean run that ends in the first. The deeper you go, the more enemies you kill, the more containers you break, and the bigger your payout — even after the death penalty.

Do not treat death as failure. Think of it as a guaranteed deposit into your permanent Lucenite pool. Keep pushing forward even after a tough fight. Getting halfway through a new biome before dying still beats resetting from the Passage.

Rerun Earlier Biomes

Once you have defeated an Overlord and progressed to the next biome, you can use the World Dial at Primary in the Passage to teleport back to any biome you have already cleared. This makes earlier biomes into efficient farming grounds.

Shattered Rise, the very first biome, becomes one of the best Lucenite farms once you are a few upgrades deep. You are strong enough to blow through enemies quickly, the layout is familiar, and the full biome can be completed in a short run. Replaying it repeatedly after building up your Drive stat yields a solid, consistent return.

When you revisit old biomes, you also benefit from any new abilities you have unlocked since your last visit. The Grapple lets you reach hidden side paths. The Blazing Strike opens yellow barriers. More accessible routes means more rooms, more enemies, and more Lucenite. For the full list of what each ability unlocks, check our Saros All Abilities guide.

Always Activate the Eclipse

Every biome in Saros has an Eclipse pedestal you can interact with to trigger an Eclipse. When the Eclipse is active, the environment changes, enemies become more aggressive, and their attacks shift to corrupted versions. But in return, Lucenite drops increase significantly.

Activating the Eclipse is mandatory for story progression in the early biomes, but becomes optional in later ones. Always choose to activate it anyway. The Lucenite gain boost while the Eclipse is running outweighs the increased danger, especially once you have a few upgrades under your belt.

The Blighted Marsh biome is one of the best Eclipse farming spots because its pedestal sits near the entrance. You can activate the Eclipse almost immediately and run the entire biome under its bonus conditions from the start.

During an Eclipse, red containers also appear more often. These have a chance to reward Halcyon, which means an Eclipse run gives you the opportunity to stack both currencies at once. Take the time to clear optional rooms inside the Eclipse zone rather than rushing through it.

Upgrade the Drive Stat Early

The Drive attribute is the most important stat for Lucenite farming. It directly increases how much Lucenite you earn from every pickup and speeds up how quickly your Proficiency Level rises during a run.

There are two ways to boost Drive:

  • Permanent upgrades: Invest Lucenite into the Drive nodes in the Armor Matrix at the Passage. These carry over across every run and compound over time. Prioritising Drive early is one of the best long-term decisions in the game.
  • Temporary upgrades: Collect artifacts during a run that boost the Drive stat. These only last for that cycle, but they stack with your permanent Drive level and can significantly increase your haul for that session.

A high Drive stat means every enemy you kill and every crystal you pick up is worth more. Combined with an Eclipse run, a strong Drive build produces noticeably more Lucenite per biome than a baseline character. For more on how Drive connects to your build, see our Saros Attribute Volatility explained guide.

Convert Aether into Lucenite

Aether is the healing item in Saros. It glows bright green and restores your Armor Integrity when you pick it up. But when your health is already full, picking up Aether does not go to waste — it automatically converts into Lucenite instead.

The amount you get from each conversion is not huge. But over the course of a full run, especially one where you are staying healthy and dodging damage well, these conversions add up. Never walk past an Aether pickup just because you are at full health. Press Triangle and collect it every time.

This also rewards playing well. Staying at full health — which is difficult in Saros — passively turns every Aether you find into bonus Lucenite. Think of it as an extra incentive to avoid taking hits.

Collect Drops Immediately After Fights

Lucenite dropped by enemies does not stay on the ground forever. It floats for a short time and then disappears. If you are sniping from a distance or are too slow to move through an arena after a fight, you are losing free Lucenite every single room.

Build a habit of sweeping each arena after clearing enemies. Move through the space, confirm kills, and collect drops before moving forward. Use sprint outside of active combat to cover ground quickly and backtrack for any drops you missed during hectic fights.

Also check side paths and elevated areas. Lucenite appears as world pickups scattered throughout every biome — not just from enemies. It can be hidden on ledges, tucked into corners, or sitting at the end of an optional route marked by a white flag on your mini-map. Side paths almost always have Lucenite waiting to be collected.

Use the Jump Network Pad to Bank Lucenite Safely

Once you have unlocked the Jump Network after defeating Prophet in Shattered Rise, a useful mid-run banking loop becomes available. Instead of risking a death and losing a chunk of your Lucenite, you can use a Jump Network Pad to return to the Passage mid-run. All the Lucenite you have collected comes with you safely.

From the Passage, spend it at the Armor Matrix. Then use the World Dial to teleport back to the Jump Network Pad you came from and continue the run. This method removes the all-or-nothing pressure of a full cycle and lets you bank progress in smaller, safer increments.

It is especially useful in early runs when you are carrying a large amount of Lucenite and the next room looks dangerous. There is no reason to risk losing it when a Jump Network Pad is nearby. For more on how this works, check our Saros Jump Network Pads guide.

Break Every Container You Pass

Containers in Saros drop artifacts, Aether, Halcyon, and Lucenite. Do not skip them. Even if the artifact inside is not relevant to your current build, breaking each container keeps you in the loop for the ones that do matter — like Drive-boosting artifacts that increase your Lucenite haul for the rest of the run.

White containers are where you find Acolyte’s Wager rerolls. Red containers are where Halcyon and powerful artifacts appear. Both types reward thorough exploration. Make it a habit to clear containers in every room before moving forward.

Containers in optional side paths (marked as white flags on the mini-map) also tend to hold better rewards than those on the main path. The extra enemies and time are almost always worth it for the resource gain alone.

Key Armor Matrix Upgrades for Lucenite Farming

Several Armor Matrix upgrades directly improve how much Lucenite you collect and keep per run. These are worth prioritising early:

Lucenite Extension

This upgrade makes dropped Lucenite orbs stay on the ground for longer before disappearing. This is especially useful in chaotic rooms where you are dodging projectiles and cannot immediately sweep the arena. It gives you more time to collect drops without rushing into danger.

Lucenite Saver

When you die, you normally lose a large portion of your gathered Lucenite. Lucenite Saver reduces that loss, meaning you return to the Passage with more of your haul intact after a failed run. For players who die frequently in the early biomes, this upgrade pays for itself very quickly. It is one of the first Armor Matrix investments worth making. This upgrade costs Halcyon rather than Lucenite, so plan accordingly — see our Saros Halcyon guide for what to prioritise.

Lucenite Magnetism (Carcosan Modifier)

This is not an Armor Matrix node but a Carcosan Modifier, unlocked after defeating Bastion at the end of Ancient Depths. Activating Lucenite Magnetism increases Arjun’s automatic pickup radius for Lucenite orbs. In rooms packed with enemies and projectiles, this makes a big difference. You will automatically collect nearby drops while dodging and weaving, rather than needing to physically run over each one. For more on modifiers, see our Saros Beginner Tips guide.

Hostile Lucenite Extraction

This is a later-game Armor Matrix upgrade that increases the amount of Lucenite dropped by enemies. It sits on Tier 3 and above, so it is not available immediately. But once you can afford it, it delivers a consistent return on every enemy kill for every run going forward.

Explore Side Paths with Every New Ability

Each time you unlock a new permanent ability, go back to earlier biomes and explore areas that were previously blocked. The Jump Network, Grapple, Eclipse Threads, and Blazing Strike all open up sections you could not reach before. These locked-off areas consistently contain Lucenite pickups, containers, and other resources that you missed on your first pass.

After unlocking the Blazing Strike in Yellow Shore, breaking every yellow barrier in the game is one of the fastest ways to catch up on missed Lucenite. Each barrier hides side content with resource pickups behind it. For more on what each ability opens up, read our Saros All Abilities guide.

Optimised Lucenite Farming Loop – Step by Step

  • Step 1: Use the World Dial to start a run in an earlier, familiar biome like Shattered Rise.
  • Step 2: Sweep every room — collect all visible Lucenite crystals, break every container, and check side paths (white flags on the mini-map).
  • Step 3: Activate the Eclipse at the pedestal as soon as you reach it. Stay in it and clear optional rooms inside the Eclipse zone.
  • Step 4: Pick up all Aether even at full health to convert it into bonus Lucenite.
  • Step 5: Grab any Drive-boosting artifact from a container to multiply your haul for the rest of the run.
  • Step 6: When you reach a Jump Network Pad and have a strong Lucenite count, use it to return to the Passage and bank your earnings safely.
  • Step 7: Spend at the Armor Matrix — prioritise Drive nodes first, then Lucenite Extension and Lucenite Saver.
  • Step 8: Teleport back to the same Jump Network Pad via the World Dial and continue the run.

Repeating this loop compounds quickly. Each run produces more than the last as your Drive stat climbs and your Armor Matrix grows.
