Saros: All Stats and Attributes Explained
TL;DR
- Saros has three core Growth Attributes: Resilience, Command, and Drive.
- These three feed three derived stats: Armor Integrity (health), Power (shield and weapon fuel), and Proficiency (weapon level).
- Resilience = health. Command = shield and Power Weapon capacity. Drive = Lucenite gain and Proficiency speed.
- Attribute Volatility triggers when you push a stat past its cap — each has a negative effect.
- Volatile Resilience hides enemy health bars. Volatile Command hides Corruption visuals. Volatile Drive makes you lose all Lucenite on death.
- Upgrade stats permanently via the Armor Matrix and temporarily through Artifacts and Attribute Enhancers.
- Early game: prioritise Resilience and Drive. Mid to late game: invest more in Command.
Saros: All Stats and Attributes Explained
Saros can feel overwhelming when you first open your status screen. Words like Drive, Command, Resilience, Proficiency, and Volatility are thrown at you without much explanation. These are not just flavour terms — every one of them directly affects how your run plays out, how strong your weapons feel, and how quickly you die.
This guide explains every stat and attribute in Saros, what each one does, how it connects to the others, and how to raise it both permanently and temporarily. Understanding these systems early is one of the best things you can do for your progression. For general beginner advice, see our Saros Beginner Tips guide.
The Two Types of Stats in Saros
Before going through each stat, it helps to understand how the system is structured. Saros has two layers of stats:
- Growth Attributes — these are the three core stats you actively build: Resilience, Command, and Drive. You upgrade these at the Armor Matrix and through Artifacts during runs.
- Derived Stats — these flow directly from your Growth Attributes. Armor Integrity comes from Resilience. Power comes from Command. Proficiency is influenced by Drive. You do not upgrade these directly; you raise them by improving the attribute they are tied to.
Every number you see on your status screen feeds into one of these two categories.

Resilience
Resilience is your survivability stat. It determines your maximum Armor Integrity, which is Saros’s term for health. The higher your Resilience, the more damage Arjun can absorb before going down.
Resilience also affects how much damage you take from environmental hazards — certain biome-specific threats deal reduced damage as this stat grows. In the early biomes, where enemies hit hard and you are still learning patterns, Resilience is the most immediately impactful stat to invest in.
Armor Integrity can be restored mid-run by picking up green Aether orbs. However, Corrupted Projectiles and certain Artifacts can temporarily reduce your maximum Integrity below its normal cap — even if Resilience is high. For a full breakdown of that system, check our Saros Attribute Volatility explained guide.
Volatile State: Arrogance
If Resilience is pushed past its cap during a run and becomes volatile, it transforms into Arrogance. The negative effect is that enemy health bars become invisible, including boss health bars. This makes it harder to judge how close an enemy is to dying and harder to track boss phase transitions. It is one of the milder volatility penalties, but it can catch you off guard in longer fights.
Command

Command governs your Power stat — the fuel used by both your Soltari Shield and your Power Weapons. The higher your Command, the more Power your armor can hold, which means you can keep your shield raised longer and fire Power Weapons more frequently before running out.
Power is not generated passively. You build it by absorbing blue enemy projectiles with the Soltari Shield. Each absorbed shot fills the Power meter. A high Command stat gives you a bigger tank to fill, which in turn means more sustained shield coverage and more Power Weapon shots per fight.
Command becomes increasingly important as you move into the mid and late biomes, where enemies fire more blue projectiles and Power Weapons become essential tools for dealing damage to bosses and Alphas efficiently. For more on how Power Weapons work, see our Saros All Main and Power Weapons guide.
Volatile State: Ignorance
When Command is pushed into volatility, it becomes Ignorance. The penalty is that Corruption effects on Arjun’s armor become invisible. You can still get corrupted — you just cannot see the visual indicator of it building up. This makes it harder to manage Corruption levels before they start reducing your maximum Integrity.
Drive

Drive is the economic engine of your build. It controls two things: how quickly Lucenite raises your Proficiency Level during a run, and how much Lucenite you retain and carry back to the Passage after a run ends.
A high Drive stat means every Lucenite crystal you pick up is worth more toward your Proficiency bar. This makes weapons level up faster mid-run, so stronger gear drops earlier in each cycle. It also means you come back to the Passage with more to spend at the Armor Matrix after each run — whether you completed it or died.
Drive is the stat most directly tied to your long-term progression speed. Investing in Drive nodes early creates a compounding effect: more Lucenite per run means more upgrades, which means better future runs. For a dedicated guide on maximising this, read our Saros How to Farm Lucenite Fast guide.
Volatile State: Negligence
Volatile Drive becomes Negligence — and this is the harshest of the three volatility penalties. Instead of losing a percentage of your Lucenite on death, you lose all of it. Every crystal collected that run is gone if you die while Negligence is active. In the early and mid game, this is a run-ending economic disaster. Avoid pushing Drive into volatility until you have Lucenite Saver and other Armor Matrix protections in place.
Proficiency
Proficiency determines the level and quality of weapons you find during a run. The higher your Proficiency, the more powerful the weapons that drop from containers and enemy rooms. It has five levels, and each level makes a meaningful difference to how your weapons perform.
Proficiency works differently from the other stats. It has both a permanent and a temporary component:
- Permanent Proficiency is raised through Armor Matrix nodes at the Passage. These starting bonuses mean every new run begins at a higher weapon level. Your first drops feel stronger from the start.
- Temporary Proficiency rises during a run as you collect Lucenite. The orange bar in the bottom left of your HUD shows this in real time. When you return to the Passage, the temporary gain resets.
After defeating Prophet, the first boss, you also unlock a passive where you gain +1 to Resilience, Command, and Drive for every level of Proficiency you have. This creates a direct link between your weapon progression and your core stat levels mid-run — the higher your Proficiency climbs during a cycle, the stronger all three of your attributes temporarily become.
Drive is what controls how quickly Lucenite fills the Proficiency bar. A high Drive stat means your Proficiency climbs faster per crystal collected, which gets you to higher weapon tiers sooner in each run.
Armor Integrity
Armor Integrity is simply your health. This is the number shown in the bottom left of your HUD, and it goes down when you take damage from enemies, hazards, or Corruption.
It is restored by picking up green Aether orbs found throughout each biome. Aether comes in small, medium, and large sizes. If you pick up Aether while already at full Integrity, it converts into Lucenite instead — so always collect it regardless of your health state.
Your maximum Armor Integrity is set by your Resilience stat. However, Corruption effects can temporarily lower that maximum mid-run, meaning you cannot heal above the reduced cap until the Corruption is cleared. This is separate from your base Integrity value. The Second Chance Armor Matrix upgrade also clears all Corruption when it triggers, restoring your Integrity cap to full.
Power
Power is the resource that fuels both your Soltari Shield and your Power Weapons. It is shown as a blue meter on your HUD.
You generate Power by holding R1 to raise your Shield and absorbing incoming blue projectiles from enemies. Each absorbed shot adds Power to the meter. Using your Shield actively drains Power over time, and firing a Power Weapon consumes a chunk of it instantly.
Your maximum Power capacity is determined by Command. A higher Command stat means a bigger Power pool — more shield uptime and more Power Weapon shots per engagement. Once your Power is depleted, your Shield cannot be raised until you absorb more blue shots to refill it.
The Shield Amplifier Armor Matrix upgrade also lets you absorb yellow Corrupted projectiles during an Eclipse to build Power, though doing so still contributes to Corruption buildup on Arjun’s armor.
What Is Attribute Volatility?
Attribute Volatility is a risk-reward system that activates when you push a Growth Attribute past its current cap during a run.
During a cycle, you can raise your Resilience, Command, and Drive temporarily through Artifacts and Attribute Enhancer pickups. Each attribute has a cap — a maximum value it can reach during a single run. If you continue stacking a stat beyond that cap, it enters a Volatile state. The stat name changes and a negative effect activates for the remainder of that run.
Here is a summary of all three volatile states:
- Arrogance (Volatile Resilience) — Enemy health bars become invisible.
- Ignorance (Volatile Command) — Corruption effects on Arjun’s armor are no longer visible.
- Negligence (Volatile Drive) — All Lucenite is lost on death instead of a percentage.
In the early game, avoid triggering Attribute Volatility. The penalties are manageable for experienced players but punishing for newcomers. Focus on spreading stat gains across all three attributes rather than maxing one out. In the later game, once you have Lucenite Saver and Second Chance unlocked, some players intentionally push Resilience into Arrogance since the hidden health bar penalty is relatively minor.
How to Raise Stats in Saros
Every stat can be raised both permanently and temporarily. Here is how each method works:
Permanent Upgrades (Armor Matrix)
The Armor Matrix at the Passage is your main tool for permanent stat growth. Spend Lucenite on Drive, Resilience, and Command nodes to raise your baseline values. These carry across every future run. Spend Halcyon on high-value purple nodes like Second Chance, Lucenite Saver, and Attribute Enhancers. For guidance on what to unlock first, see our Saros Armor Matrix Upgrades guide.
Artifacts (Temporary — Per Run)
Artifacts are found inside containers throughout each biome. Many of them boost one or more of your Growth Attributes for the duration of the current cycle. These bonuses reset when you return to the Passage or die. Choosing Drive-boosting Artifacts early in a run is one of the best ways to multiply your Lucenite haul for that cycle.
Attribute Enhancers (Temporary — Per Run)
Attribute Enhancers are small pickups dropped by powerful enemies or found in containers — but only after unlocking the relevant Armor Matrix node first. They instantly raise one of your three Growth Attributes for the current run. Look for them in rooms with Alpha hostiles and in red containers.
Integrity Augments (Permanent)
Integrity Augments are a special type of permanent upgrade found throughout the biomes — on main paths, side paths, and as rewards for completing Nightmare Gates. They permanently improve your baseline stats across all future runs, separate from the Armor Matrix. Always collect them when you find them.
Proficiency Gains (Temporary — Per Run)
Collecting Lucenite mid-run fills the orange Proficiency bar. Once it fills, your Proficiency level increases, unlocking stronger weapon drops for the rest of that run. This resets when you leave the biome. Permanent Proficiency can also be raised through specific Armor Matrix nodes, giving you a higher starting level at the beginning of each new cycle.
Which Stats Should You Prioritise?
The right answer depends on where you are in the game, but here is a solid general approach:
- Early game (Biomes 1–3): Put Lucenite into Resilience and Drive first. Resilience keeps you alive long enough to complete rooms. Drive makes your Lucenite go further and compound into more upgrades run after run.
- Mid game (Biomes 4–6): Start investing more in Command. Power Weapons and the Soltari Shield become critical tools in these biomes. More Power capacity means more damage and more survivability through shield absorption.
- Late game (Biomes 7–8): All three stats become important. Focus on Attribute Enhancement nodes and Halcyon-locked upgrades to push your baseline stats higher and prepare for the most demanding fights in the game.
No single stat should be ignored entirely. But Drive is the engine that speeds up everything else, Resilience keeps you in the fight long enough to farm, and Command makes you deadlier once you have the basics covered.
How Stats Connect to the Rest of Your Build
Your stats do not exist in isolation. They connect directly to your weapons, your resources, and your Armor Matrix choices in ways that compound across runs.
Drive powers your Lucenite economy — and Lucenite powers everything else. For a full breakdown of every currency and how they interact, see our Saros All Resources and Currencies guide.
