How to Unlock Small Jack Frost Big Problems
This quest does not show up on the map with a standard exclamation mark. You have to reach Jack Frost Village first, and the quest unlocks on its own once you start helping the locals.
Step 1 – Complete Gunfire in the Silent Lands
Before you can even get to the village, you need to finish the World Quest Gunfire in the Silent Lands. Completing it gives you two key items: the Snezhnayan Journal and the Eye of the Graeae. Both are required to travel safely through Snezhnaya and reach Jack Frost Village. If you have not done this yet, do it first and come back here after.
Step 2 – Travel to Jack Frost Village
Jack Frost Village sits southeast of Snezhnograd and north of Svetloledovka. The easiest way to get there is to board the train and ride to Svetloledovka Station. From the station, head northeast across the icy hills and you will reach the village. There is no teleport waypoint here when you first arrive, so the walk is the only option on your first visit.

Once you enter the village, Paimon will immediately notice that something is wrong. Two Jack Frosts are in trouble. Helping them is what sets everything in motion.
Free the Previously-Squished Jack Frost
One Jack Frost is pinned under a chunk of rubble near a fallen wall. Open your Prime Ice Construct menu and build a Cube to lift the rubble off him. The game will prompt you when you stand close enough. This is a straightforward build, so just place the cube and watch him pop out. Stop the Dizzy Jack Frost from Looping
The second Jack Frost is stuck in a trance. He is staring at a snowball bouncing endlessly back and forth between two Launching Platforms. To break the loop, open the Prime Ice Construct menu and refund the Prime Ice Resource from one of the platforms. Find the Source of the Massive Ya-Ho
After freeing both Jack Frosts, head back toward the village entrance steps. You will hear a loud, booming “Ya-ho!” Follow the sound and you will find the Jack Frost Village Chief. He is the biggest Jack Frost in the area, standing right in front of a house that has an ice cream sign on the roof. Talk to him to officially start the quest. If he has not appeared yet, try helping one or two more Jack Frosts around the village first. The trigger usually fires after two or three assists.
Defend the Village Against the Volkodlaks
This is the main challenge of the quest. The Village Chief tells you that Volkodlaks have been raiding the village and harassing the Jack Frosts. His plan is a simple one: build giant snowball launchers and fight back. He walks you to the village entrance where a short cutscene shows how the wolves typically attack.
Get the Assault-Type Snowball Launcher Blueprint
A Jack Frost standing near the village’s Teleport Waypoint will hand you the Assault-Type Snowball Launcher blueprint. Pick it up. This is the blueprint you will use to build turrets along the two Volkodlak entry routes. Make sure you grab it before moving on.
Place Two Snowball Launchers on the Enemy Routes
The game will highlight the paths the Volkodlaks use to enter the village. Place two Assault-Type Snowball Launchers to cover both routes. Put each one directly on or near the highlighted path so it targets enemies as they come in. The Volkodlaks can and will destroy your launchers as the fight goes on, so be ready to rebuild.
Important: During the defense phase, you can only use the Traveler (Aether or Lumine). Your normal party is locked out. This is intended, so do not panic. The Traveler can still deal damage and help thin the enemy waves while the launchers do the heavy lifting.
Phase 1 – Survive the First Two Waves
The first phase sends two waves of Volkodlaks at you. Stay active. Do not just stand and wait for the launchers to handle everything. Attack enemies directly, especially ones that break through the launcher fire. Keep rebuilding turrets if they get destroyed. Push the progress bar to 100% to clear Phase 1.
Fortify the Defense with Blockade Spikes
After Phase 1 ends, the Village Chief asks you to strengthen your position. Go back to the Jack Frost near the blueprints and grab the Blockade Spikes. Place them around your launchers to give them some protection from the next waves. Once placed, report back to the chief to continue.
Phase 2 – Survive Waves Three and Four
The third and fourth waves hit harder and push more aggressively than the first two. The Blockade Spikes will help protect the launchers, but enemies will still get through. Stay mobile, attack from the front line, and keep rebuilding launchers when they fall. Reach 100% progress again to end the defense and send the Volkodlaks packing.
Repair the Ice Cream Sign to Finish the Quest
With all four waves done, follow the Village Chief back to the village center. The Jack Frosts have gathered around the shop. The ice cream sign on the roof is now hanging sideways. Your job is simple: enter the snowball launcher construct and fire a snowball through the ring target to knock the sign back into place. Aim carefully and shoot. A short cutscene plays once the sign is straightened, and the quest completes right after.

- Can’t find the bouncing snowball platform? It is near the Dizzy Jack Frost at the lower part of the village. Just look for the Jack Frost staring blankly into the air.
- Progress bar not moving? Make sure both launcher routes are covered and that you are actively attacking enemies too, not just waiting.
- Sign shot not working? Aim the snowball so it goes through the floating ring marker, not just at the sign itself. The ring is the target.
