007 First Light: Deadly Delivery Challenge Guide

007 First Light Deadly Delivery challenge guide — how to get the Flash Mine, reach the Utility room, stick the mine on the robot vacuum, and kill an enemy to complete it.

The Deadly Delivery challenge in 007 First Light asks you to kill an enemy by sticking a proximity mine onto a robot vacuum cleaner in the Utility room during Wave of the Future. It sounds simple, but there is a catch most players run into — you cannot get the Flash Mine by loading a Wave of the Future checkpoint alone. Here is the full guide on how to set it up and complete it.

TL;DR

  • Deadly Delivery requires you to attach a Flash Mine to a robot vacuum cleaner in the Utility room during Wave of the Future.
  • The Flash Mine is not available if you load directly from a Wave of the Future checkpoint — you must carry it over from Man of the Hour.
  • Load checkpoint 5 of Man of the Hour (“An unexpected call”), pick up the Flash Mine from the gadget cart, and play through to the Utility room.
  • In the Utility room, find the far back-left corner where two guards stand idle near each other.
  • Wait for the robot vacuum to patrol between them, then throw the Flash Mine onto it.
  • The proximity sensor detonates when the vacuum passes close enough to the guards, killing at least one.
  • The challenge completes the moment an enemy dies from the mine.

What Is the Deadly Delivery Challenge?

Deadly Delivery asks you to kill an enemy by sticking a proximity mine to a robot vacuum in the Utility room. The catch is that replaying from a Wave of the Future checkpoint will not hand you the Flash Mine, since you are locked to whatever gadgets you actually picked up during story progression.

This is the single biggest reason players fail to complete this challenge. Everything about the setup is straightforward once you have the Flash Mine — but if you loaded into Wave of the Future without it in your inventory, the mine simply will not be available. You need to go back one mission to fix it.

Wave of the Future is one of the final missions in the game. If you are working through all its challenges, see our Wave of the Future all challenges guide for the complete list.

Step 1 — Get the Flash Mine From Man of the Hour

Back out to the main menu and open chapter select. Load the previous mission at the fifth checkpoint, named “An unexpected call.”

Make your way to the Gym, climb up to the upper platform, and drop down to the subsequent Wearables section. Interact with the Gadget Cart and equip the Flash Mine.

Do not skip past the Gadget Cart. Once you are in the Q lab, physically pick up the Flash Mine from the bench so it carries into your inventory. The game needs to register the gadget as actively equipped before you cross the chapter boundary, otherwise it will not be available when you reach the Utility room.

Step 2 — Play Through to Wave of the Future

Play through normally for roughly fifteen minutes until you reach the Utility room.

Progress through the story to reach the Utility Floor in Wave of the Future. Along the way, take the identification bracelets for Isola and Bond and pass through the Robotics Department. Enter the Utility room where your objective will be “Meet up with Isola” — then you are in the right spot.

Do not attempt to fast-travel or skip ahead. You have to play the game normally from the Q lab all the way back to the Utility room. Do not skip sections or try to force a fast-travel shortcut, as you need the game to register the Flash Mine in your inventory continuously as you cross the chapter threshold.

Step 3 — Enter the Utility Room and Find the Guards

Climb across the ledge and enter through the left doors to the Utility room. Make your way forward, avoiding contact with all soldiers so you can stay in stealth.

Navigate to the far back left corner of the server room. You will find a dead-end hallway where two Webb guards are standing directly across from each other.

On the far left side of the Utility room, you can sit behind a railing and watch two guards who will stand idle next to each other. There is a robot vacuum cleaner that often patrols between them. Stay crouched and wait — do not alert either guard before you set the mine.

Step 4 — Attach the Flash Mine to the Robot Vacuum

Wait until the vacuum cleaner is positioned exactly between the two guards. Equip your Flash Mine and toss it directly onto the top of the robot. You do not need to shoot the mine to trigger it.

The proximity sensor triggers automatically when the robot scoots too close to the targets. The massive knockback pushes both guards violently into the server racks for a clean elimination. The challenge completes the moment at least one guard dies from the detonation.

If the first explosion is not enough, it is not a problem. Simply attach another mine to the vacuum when it passes again. The second time will definitely be enough to complete the challenge.

What If the Flash Mine Is Still Not Available?

If you get to the Utility room and the Flash Mine is not in your loadout, you missed the gadget pickup at the Man of the Hour cart. Go back to the main menu, reload Man of the Hour checkpoint 5, physically interact with the Gadget Cart to add the Flash Mine to your loadout, and run through again. There is no shortcut — the mine must be in your active inventory before the Wave of the Future chapter begins.

Does Deadly Delivery Conflict With Other Challenges?

The explosion from the Flash Mine will alert nearby enemies. If one challenge does not register, the usual cause is an alarm triggering early for stealth goals. Deadly Delivery conflicts directly with stealth-based challenges in the Utility room like the pacifist and ghost objectives. Plan your runs carefully.

Plan two or three full runs around the conflict points. Do the silent pass first for Hide and Seek, Pacifist Protocols, Death From Above, and Stay Stealthy, then handle Deadly Delivery and the other combat challenges in a separate run. Trying to mix stealth and the mine kill in a single pass will break your no-detection challenges the moment the explosion goes off.

Other Wave of the Future Challenges Nearby

The Utility room section of Wave of the Future contains several challenges that can be stacked across multiple checkpoint replays. Here are the most relevant guides for this part of the mission:

Tips for the Deadly Delivery Challenge

  • Always pick up the Flash Mine before leaving Man of the Hour. This is the most common reason the challenge fails. If it is not in your loadout when Wave of the Future starts, you cannot complete it from a checkpoint replay alone.
  • Stay in stealth until the mine is set. If you alert guards before the vacuum passes them, they will move away from their idle positions and the mine detonation may not catch either of them.
  • Wait for the vacuum to reach the midpoint between both guards. Throwing the mine too early or too late reduces the blast radius hitting the targets. The sweet spot is when the robot is directly between them.
  • Do Deadly Delivery on a separate run from stealth challenges. The explosion will raise an alert. Complete your pacifist and ghost objectives first, then come back for this challenge.
  • Use Chapter Select to return cleanly. Our how to replay missions guide explains exactly how to navigate between checkpoints efficiently.
