What Is the Fight Pit in 007 First Light?
The Fight Pit is an underground arena inside the Aleph black market in Mauritania. It appears during The Past Never Dies mission, which is Chapter 10 of the campaign. Bond needs to raise $100,000 for the auction fee, and the Fight Pit is one of the best ways to do it. It is also the highest single payout of all the money-making routes in Aleph, rewarding $60,000 for winning the tournament.
The Fight Pit is purely unarmed combat. No guns, no gadgets beyond optional use — just fists, parries, and throwable bottles. It is a straightforward but satisfying sequence that ends with a tough brute boss fight against a fighter known as The Hammer.

Where to Find the Fight Pit
The Fight Pit is not immediately marked on your map when you enter Aleph. Here is how to find it quickly.
When you come down the main stairs into the black market, head east and follow the right-hand wall. Look for a shark skull hanging over a stone archway near a yellow container. That is the entrance to the Fight Pit. Walk through the arch and make your way up to the overlooking area above the arena.
You can also find it by heading forward from the market entrance and looking right, past the shoe stall near the cup game. The Fight Pit is in that general direction, and the shark skull is hard to miss once you are close.
How to Get Into the Fight Pit
Getting accepted into the arena takes a few steps. You cannot just walk in and fight. Here is the process.
Step 1 — Eavesdrop on the Ringmaster and Trainer

Once you reach the overlooking area above the arena, you will spot the Ringmaster and a Trainer talking near a blue barrel. Eavesdrop on their conversation. They will mention needing a fighter to put on a show. Once the conversation ends, you will have the option to approach.
Step 2 — Talk to the Ringmaster
After eavesdropping, approach the Ringmaster and speak to him. He will direct you to the Trainer if you want to enter the arena.
Step 3 — Find and Talk to the Trainer
Follow the mission marker to the Trainer. He is nearby the arena entrance. Speak to him, and he will ask Bond to prove himself in a quick trial fight against a fighter named Omar.
Step 4 — Beat Omar (Trial Fight)

The Omar fight is the easiest combat encounter in this whole sequence. He is not a tough opponent. Defeat him using basic combos and dodges to pass the trial and earn your entry into the pit.
Optional — Fall Guy Challenge: Before Omar goes down, use the push move (RB + X on Xbox / R1 + Square on PlayStation) to shove him over the railing. The best moment to do this is right after you counter one of his attacks. Push him a few times to move him toward the edge, then execute the push to send him over. This completes the separate Fall Guy challenge.
Step 5 — Follow the Trainer to the Ringmaster
Once Omar is dealt with, follow the Trainer back to the Ringmaster to officially register for the tournament. The three-round fight will then begin.
The Three Fight Pit Rounds
The arena has three consecutive rounds. You must win all three without leaving the pit between fights.

Round 1 — Solo Fighter
The first round is a straightforward one-on-one brawl against a regular fighter. Use standard punches, dodges, and parries. Pick up any throwable bottles around the arena edges and use them to stagger him quickly. This round is not a challenge for most players.
Round 2 — The Twins
Round two sends two fighters at you at once — a pair of twins. The key here is not to let them both attack you from different sides. Keep moving, stay aware of both fighters, and try to focus one down before the other closes in. Use throws and parries to buy time. Bottles help here too.
Round 3 — The Hammer (Boss Fight)
The final round is against The Hammer — a massive brute and the arena champion. He hits hard and does not stagger easily from normal punches alone. This is the toughest fight in the pit and the one that unlocks the Hammer Time challenge upon victory.
How to Beat The Hammer
The Hammer is a brute-class enemy. Regular punch combos alone will not do much. You need to use the arena environment and fight smart.
Use Throwable Bottles to Stagger Him
The most effective strategy is to pick up the throwable bottles placed around the arena and throw them at The Hammer. This staggers him and opens a window for a full melee combo. After your combo lands and he recovers, keep your distance, grab another bottle, and repeat. Use every bottle in the arena this way before switching to a pure melee approach.
Throwing bottles at all four opponents across the rounds will also complete the separate Bottled It! challenge.
Use the Push Move at the Right Moment
If you run out of bottles and The Hammer is still standing, use the push move (RB + X / R1 + Square) right as he is about to strike. This staggers him at close range. Follow up with a grab and punches while he is off-balance.
Be Patient With Parries
Do not rush in swinging. The Hammer telegraphs his heavy attacks. Wait for the wind-up, parry the hit, and counter. Patience wins this fight more than aggression does.
Use Gadgets if Needed
You can use gadget abilities in the fight to make things easier. Check your best gadget loadout before heading into the pit. The Phone Dart and Laser Strap are both useful tools across this mission. For a full list of what is available, see the all gadgets guide.
Keep Moving
Do not stand still. The Hammer’s heavy strikes deal significant damage if they land clean. Stay mobile, circle the arena, and engage only when you have a clear opening after a stagger or parry.
After the Fight — Collect Your Winnings and Watch the Exit
Once The Hammer goes down, the Hammer Time challenge completes. Speak to the Trainer after the fight to collect your $60,000 payout. This counts toward the $100,000 auction fee requirement.
Be ready for one more surprise. Three angry fighters will confront Bond on the way out of the Fight Pit. They are sore about the result. Defeat all three before heading back into the market.
Fight Pit Challenges Summary
- Hammer Time — Beat The Hammer in the final round of the arena
- Fall Guy — Throw Omar over the railing during the trial fight
- Bottled It! — Hit all four arena opponents with a throwable bottle
Tips Before You Enter the Fight Pit
- Do the Fight Pit first. It gives the biggest single payout in Aleph. Do it before other money activities so you are not scrambling later.
- Lower the difficulty if needed. You can adjust settings without locking yourself out of challenges. See the difficulty settings guide for details.
- Replay if you miss a challenge. If you skip the Fall Guy or Bottled It! challenges on your first run, use the mission replay feature to return to the relevant checkpoint.
- Check your gadget loadout. Having the right gadgets helps across the whole Past Never Dies mission, not just the pit.
