007 First Light: How to Collect 140k in the Market (Show Me the Money Challenge)

How to Collect 140k in the Market in 007 First Light is one of the trickier challenges in The Past Never Dies mission. The game only asks you to raise $100,000 for the auction fee, but the Show Me the Money challenge pushes that target to $140,000. The catch is that hitting $100,000 too early can lock you out of certain money-making routes. This guide shows you the exact order to do everything.

TL;DR

  • The Show Me the Money challenge requires you to collect $140,000 in the black market — not just the $100,000 story requires.
  • You can be locked out of some money routes if you hit $100,000 too early, so follow the order below.
  • Step 1: Fight Pit — earn $60,000.
  • Step 2: Cup Game (Jewel of Jahari) — earn $30,000 (use Q-Lens).
  • Step 3: Pickpocket to recover the $3,500 cup game entry fee.
  • Step 4: Scorpius Deal (container 76) — earn $52,000.
  • Total possible: well over $140,000 if you complete all routes.

What Is the Show Me the Money Challenge?

The Show Me the Money challenge is one of the 23 challenges in The Past Never Dies, the fourth main mission of 007 First Light. In this mission, Bond and Greenway arrive at Aleph’s black market in Mauritania. The story objective is to raise $100,000 for an auction entry fee.

But to complete the Show Me the Money challenge, you need to push the total to $140,000. This means doing more money routes than the story requires — and doing them in the right order before reaching $100,000 locks the auction progression.

Important: Do Not Hit $100,000 Too Early

Once you collect enough money for the auction fee, the game may lock you out of completing certain sub-objectives. So before you hand over the money and advance the story, make sure you have already completed enough money routes to exceed $140,000.

The order in this guide is designed to keep you under $100,000 until you have already banked enough to hit the challenge target.

Step 1 — Fight Pit ($60,000)

When you enter the black market, head forward and to the right. You will see a yellow container with a shark skull above it. Head through and take a right to reach the Fighting Pit.

Eavesdrop on the conversation between the Ring Master and the Trainer near the blue barrel. After eavesdropping, speak to the Ring Master, then the Trainer outside to sign up. You need to beat three rounds:

  • Round 1 — one normal fighter.
  • Round 2 — two fighters at once.
  • Round 3 — a Brute called the Hammer.

After you win all three rounds, speak to the Trainer to collect your $60,000. Note that a trio of angry fighters will confront you on the way out — deal with them and move on.

Step 2 — Cup Game / Jewel of Jahari ($30,000)

After leaving the Fight Pit, turn left. You will find a small market area with a shoe stall. To the right of the stall is a man named Aadan running a cup game scam.

Before approaching, speak with Nirmala at the pawn shop near the market entrance — ask her if there is anything you can do for her. This starts the Jewel of Jahari sub-objective, which is tied to the Cupped Challenge as well.

Pay the $3,500 entry fee and press X/A to start the game. The moment it begins, hold L1 (PlayStation) or LB (Xbox) to activate the Q-Lens. Track the orange glowing jewel under the cups. When they stop, pick the right cup. You win every time this way.

Take the Jewel of Jahari back to Nirmala and collect your $30,000. You are now sitting at roughly $86,500. For a full breakdown of this puzzle, see our guide on how to win the Cup Game (Cupped Challenge).

Step 3 — Pickpocket to Recover the Entry Fee

After the Cup Game, you spent $3,500, so you need to make that back before moving on. Activate the Q-Lens and walk around the market. Any character with an orange square around their belt can be pickpocketed.

Distract them first — the Phone Dart works well — then walk up and take the money clip. Each pickpocket earns around $3,000. You only need to do this once or twice to recover the entry fee and get your total back above $90,000.

Step 4 — Scorpius Deal / Container 76 ($52,000)

This is the biggest and most involved money route, but also the most rewarding. Head to the back left of the market. You will find two guards standing by a chain-link door. Approach and eavesdrop on their conversation. One guard will leave after the eavesdrop ends.

To get the second guard to move, activate the generator on the right. Once both guards are gone, enter the compound.

Get the Burner Phone

Inside the compound, stay in stealth. Make your way up and to the right, where you will find a big open room. Head to the back of the room, above the whiteboard, and hack the radio on the table to distract the nearby enemies. While they are distracted, drop down and pick up the burner phone. Walk out the same way you came in.

Reach Container 76

Head northeast from the Scorpius compound. You will reach a shipping yard. There are two ways in depending on your loadout:

  • If you have the Laser Strap — use it on the locked gate on the right.
  • If you have the Phone Dart — use it on the watcher on the left to distract him.

Once inside, interact with container 76. This triggers a fight — a License to Kill moment where armed Scorpius guards arrive. You will not fail any ghost or pacifist challenges by killing these enemies. Take them all out.

After the fight, the buyer arrives and pays Bond $52,000.

What Is Your Total?

Here is a quick summary of what each route earns:

  • Fight Pit — $60,000
  • Cup Game (Jewel of Jahari) — $30,000 (minus $3,500 entry fee = $26,500 net)
  • Pickpocketing — ~$3,000–$6,000
  • Scorpius Deal (Container 76) — $52,000

Combined, you will be well over $140,000 — enough to complete the Show Me the Money challenge and still have money left over when you pay the auction fee.

Tips to Make This Easier

  • Do the Fight Pit first. It is the biggest single payout and sets you up for everything else.
  • Always have the Phone Dart or Laser Strap in your loadout — both are useful throughout this section. See our best gadget loadout guide for recommendations.
  • Use the Q-Lens constantly. It reveals pickpocket targets, lets you win the Cup Game, and helps you spot guards.
  • Stay in stealth inside the Scorpius compound to avoid unnecessary fights and failing stealth-related challenges.
  • If you want to replay the mission to clean up missed challenges, you can do so after finishing the story.
  • Lower the difficulty setting on a replay run to make the Fight Pit and Scorpius combat easier without locking you out of challenge completions.

Follow that route, and you will clear $140,000 without any stress — and walk away with a challenge tick, a full wallet, and Bond looking very much in control.
