007 First Light: How to Upgrade the ID Bracelet in the Security Office

ID Bracelet in the Security Office in 007 First Light — here are all three ways to get inside and complete the upgrade during Wave of the Future.

TL;DR

  • The ID Bracelet upgrade happens in the Security Office during Wave of the Future.
  • The Security Office is locked — you need to find a way in first.
  • There are three methods: the Archives vent route (code 1864), the Surrender method, and the Snoop Around vent route.
  • All three methods lead to the same upgrade station inside.
  • Once upgraded, your bracelet becomes Level 5 and the Command Centre door opens.

The ID Bracelet in the Security Office is one of the key objectives in 007 First Light’s Wave of the Future mission. After Bond and Isola split up inside Webb Industries, you are left alone in the Operations area with a locked Security Office and no obvious way in. The game does not spell out what to do next. This guide covers all three routes into the Security Office so you can pick the one that fits your playstyle and complete the upgrade cleanly.

This objective is part of the full 007 First Light Wave of the Future All Challenges guide if you want to complete everything in one run.

Why You Need to Upgrade the ID Bracelet

After the Robotics Department section and the cable car, Bond’s clearance level is still too low to access the Command Centre. The Security Office contains an upgrade station that raises the ID bracelet to Level 5. Once that is done, the Command Centre door scanner recognises Bond’s credentials and unlocks automatically. You cannot skip this step — it is required for story progression.

If you still need to obtain the bracelets for Bond and Isola in the first place, the 007 First Light Knock Knock Challenge guide covers that section in full.

Where Is the Security Office

The Security Office is on the upper floor of the Operations Department inside Webb Industries. The main door is locked and requires clearance you do not have. The correct approach is to find one of the alternative entry points — either through the Archives vent, by surrendering to a guard, or by using a separate vent route discovered through the Snoop Around challenge. All three are covered below.

Method 1 — Archives Vent Route (Recommended)

This is the cleanest stealth method and the one that also unlocks the Attention to Detail Challenge. It uses the Archives door code to access a vent that leads directly into the Security Office.

Step 1 — Head Downstairs to the Legal Department

From the upper Operations floor, take the stairs on the left down to the lower floor. Turn left and you will find the Legal Department office. It is guarded, so do not walk in yet.

Step 2 — Trigger the Security Memo Sub-Objective

Before entering, eavesdrop on the nearby conversation outside the Legal Department. This triggers the Security Memo sub-objective and causes one of the NPCs inside the room to leave. With one fewer person inside, the room becomes easier to navigate.

Step 3 — Distract the Remaining NPC

Use your Q-Watch to hack the photocopier inside the Legal Department. The noise pulls the remaining guard’s attention away and gives you a window to move through the room without being spotted.

Step 4 — Get the Safe Key and Open the Safe

With the guard distracted, move to the cubicle area. Wait for the two NPCs nearby to finish their conversation. Then use your Q-Watch to hack the charging station in the area, which distracts them both. Now move to the desk and interact with the safe underneath. Use the Safe Key — which you can find in the Legal Department cubicle area — to open it. Inside the safe is the Archives door code: 1864. Opening the safe also unlocks the Attention to Detail Challenge automatically.

Step 5 — Enter Code 1864 at the Archives Door

Head back upstairs to the Operations area and find the Archives door. Enter 1864 on the keypad and confirm it. The door unlocks.

Step 6 — Crawl Through the Vent

Inside the Archives room, locate the ventilation shaft. Crawl through it. Take the first right inside the vent. This route leads directly into the Security Office from below, bypassing all the guards between you and the upgrade station.

Step 7 — Deal With the Guards and Use the Upgrade Station

There are two guards inside the Security Office. Take them both down. These two guards are not connected to any Ghost or Pacifist challenge, so you do not need to worry about engaging them. Once the room is clear, find the upgrade station and interact with it to upgrade the ID bracelet to Level 5.

Method 2 — Surrender Route

This is a secret method that skips the stealth entirely. It is faster to reach the Security Office this way, but you will face three hostiles inside instead of two. It also unlocks the Surrender Challenge.

Step 1 — Read the Security Memo

Go to the Legal Department on the lower floor. Eavesdrop on the conversation to trigger the Security Memo sub-objective, then read the memo in the Legal Department cubicle. This unlocks the Somerset alias dialogue option you need for the next step.

Step 2 — Find the Webb Security Guard

Head back upstairs. Find the Webb Security guard near the break room table in the Operations area. Approach him and start a conversation.

Step 3 — Identify as David Somerset

When the dialogue options appear, select “I am David Somerset.” The guard accepts this and escorts Bond directly to the Security Office. No sneaking, no hacking — just walk alongside the guard.

Step 4 — Fight Three Hostiles and Upgrade

Once you arrive at the Security Office, three hostiles are waiting inside. Deal with them, then use the upgrade station to complete the ID Bracelet objective. The Surrender Challenge unlocks at this point.

Method 3 — Snoop Around Vent Route

This method uses a separate vent that enters the Security Office from a different angle. It is linked to the Math Puzzle Snoop Around Challenge and requires solving the math puzzle in the Locker Room to get the Archives code independently.

Step 1 — Get the Office Key

On the lower floor of the Operations area, find and collect the Office Key. This opens the Locker Room nearby.

Step 2 — Solve the Math Puzzle in the Locker Room

Enter the Locker Room and find the Note With Keypad Puzzle. Read it and solve the math equation inside to get the Archives door code — which is also 1864. Reading the note is required to unlock the Snoop Around Challenge. Simply entering the code from memory without reading the note will not trigger the challenge.

Step 3 — Enter the Archives and Use the Vent

Head to the Archives door, enter 1864, and proceed through the vent inside to reach the Security Office. The two guards are still present. Take them out and interact with the upgrade station.

Which Method Should You Use

For a clean first run focused on stealth, the Archives vent route (Method 1) is the best option. It avoids unnecessary confrontations, unlocks the Attention to Detail Challenge, and is the most straightforward path to the upgrade station. If you want to unlock multiple challenges across different playthroughs, use the mission replay feature to return to this section and try each method separately. You cannot do both the Surrender entry and the vent entry in the same run — they use different paths into the same room.

For help replaying the mission to mop up remaining challenges, check the 007 First Light how to replay missions guide.

What to Do Inside the Security Office

Once you are inside the Security Office by any method, the process is the same. Clear the guards, then find the upgrade station and interact with it. This upgrades Bond’s ID bracelet to Level 5. Before you leave, check the desk — the M Profile Intel collectible is sitting there and is easy to miss if you head straight for the exit. Pick it up before you go.

What Happens After the Upgrade

With the upgraded bracelet, head back to the Command Centre entrance. The scanner now reads Bond’s new clearance level and the door unlocks automatically. This moves the Wave of the Future mission into its final section and triggers the next major story sequence inside Webb Industries.

Challenges Connected to This Section

There are three separate challenges tied specifically to how you access the ID Bracelet in the Security Office. Each requires a different entry method:

All three feed into the same Archives code (1864) and the same upgrade station. The difference is the path taken to get there and the challenge each one rewards.
