Where to Find Shaolong in Palworld

Shaolong spawns in the World Tree region, which is the brand new area added in Palworld Version 1.0. It is an endgame zone and you cannot access it early in the game.

Specifically, look in the area between the orange and burgundy zones of the World Tree map. The best landmark to start from is the Alluvion Lakefront Great Eagle Statue. Head south from there and you will start running into Shaolong spawns.

Shaolong appears at levels 76 to 78 and has around 63 spawn points across the World Tree. It is active during both day and night, so you do not need to time your visit.

You can also look near the Dualith world boss and the Whalaska Ignis world boss — Shaolong spawns in that area as wild enemies even though you originally fought one as a boss.

How to Unlock the World Tree in Palworld

You cannot just walk into the World Tree. There is a clear progression gate. Here is what you need to do first:

• Progress through the main quest until you reach Sunreach Island.
• Defeat Auri and Shaolong inside the tower on Sunreach Island. This is the first time you see Shaolong — as a boss.
• Continue the main quest until you are asked to catch Panthalus.

How to Catch Shaolong in Palworld

Shaolong is tough to catch. It is a high-level endgame Pal in a hostile zone, so you need to prepare properly before attempting a catch.

What to Bring

• Pal Spheres: Bring Mega or Giga Spheres at minimum. The more the better.
• Ice or Electric Pals: Shaolong is weak to both. Ice hits its Dragon typing and Electric hits its Water typing. Strong options include Frostallion (Ice) or Orserk and Grizzbolt (Electric).
• Strong weapons: You need to lower its HP quickly without killing it. Manage your damage carefully.
• Food and repair mats: The World Tree is a hostile area. Bring supplies.

What to Avoid

• Do not use Dark or Fire-type Pals. Shaolong resists both, so you will just be wasting time.
• Do not let it die. Once Shaolong’s HP hits zero, it is gone. You cannot catch a dead Pal.
• Do not use damage-over-time effects near the end of the fight. They can finish Shaolong off when you are not expecting it.

Catch Tips

• Get its HP into the red zone before throwing spheres.

• Keep throwing consistently. At high HP it will resist most spheres, so weaken it first.

How to Breed Shaolong in Palworld

Breeding Shaolong is straightforward but limiting. There is no alternate breeding combination that produces Shaolong. The only way to breed one is:

• Shaolong + Shaolong = Shaolong egg

That means you need to catch at least one Shaolong in the wild before you can breed for more. Once you have two, you can use a Breeding Farm to produce Shaolong eggs. This is a good strategy for passing down strong Passive Skills or high IVs to a new Shaolong.

Remember, IVs are hidden stats that affect your Pal’s HP, Attack, and Defense ranges. Breeding is the main way to get high-IV Shaolongs with the exact Passive Skills you want.

How to Hatch Shaolong From an Egg

Shaolong can also hatch from a Huge Dragon Egg. These eggs can be found lying on the ground around the islands as interactable objects you pick up. They can also be obtained by having Pals breed at a Breeding Farm.

Once you have a Huge Dragon Egg, place it in an Egg Incubator and wait for it to hatch. Shaolong is in the standard hatch pool for this egg type, though hatching is not guaranteed — it is one of several possible results.

Shaolong Partner Skill – Azure Sovereign

Shaolong’s partner skill is called Azure Sovereign. This skill has two major effects:

• Flying mount: You can ride Shaolong in the air. It is fully flyable, making it one of the best exploration Pals in the game, especially for navigating the World Tree.
