TL;DR
- Azurite is a rare blue crystal used exclusively to upgrade jewelry and accessories at the Blacksmith.
- You can mine it, buy it from Mineral Shops, or farm it from Hexe Earthen Swordsmen enemies.
- The earliest mining spot is the cliff face west of Rocca’s Hill, north of Hernand City.
- The best farming spot is Stoneback Crab Wetlands, north of Delesyia — multiple Azurite nodes in a small area.
- Mineral Shops at Cairn House and Karin Quarry sell up to 3 Azurite at a time for 2.50 silver each.
- Azurite nodes respawn after roughly seven in-game days — clear all nearby nodes at once for the best results.
- Defeating the Queen Stoneback Crab boss rewards 5 Azurite plus Diamonds and Garnets.
Azurite is one of those materials most players completely ignore — right up until they try to upgrade a ring or amulet at the Blacksmith and realize they have none. Unlike Iron or Copper which you likely have piles of, Azurite is rarer and needs to be sought out deliberately.
It is not hard to farm once you know where to go. This guide covers every source across the map so you never get caught short again. For more on Crimson Desert crafting and resource guides, our hub page has everything you need.
What Is Azurite Used For in Crimson Desert?
Azurite is used exclusively for jewelry refinement at the Blacksmith. It upgrades rings, necklaces, earrings, and other accessories to higher tiers. It does not feed into weapon or armor upgrades — those use Iron, Copper, and Bloodstone.
Because it only applies to accessories, you will not need it in the same huge quantities as Iron or Copper. That said, accessories are easy to overlook early in the game and the stat boost from upgraded jewelry does add up, especially when pushing into tougher regions. Earrings in particular are worth upgrading as soon as you grab them — if you have not found any yet, check our Bluemont Manor Strongbox guide for an easy early pair.
Once you have Azurite, speak to a Blacksmith such as Turnali in Hernand and select the Refining option to upgrade your accessories.
To get a better sense of the full accessory system, our Crimson Desert accessories guide explains every slot and what to prioritize.

How to Spot Azurite
Before hunting for it, know what you are looking for.
Azurite appears as a glowing deep blue crystal vein, clearly different from the dull grey-brown of Iron or the greenish tint of Copper. It stands out well against grey rock faces once you are within a short distance. Crystal deposits also look more translucent and glassy compared to standard ore veins.
The blue color is your primary indicator. If you see a bright blue shimmer in a rocky cliff wall, get closer — it is almost certainly Azurite.
How to Mine Azurite
You need a Pickaxe or the Force Palm Attack to mine any ore in the game. Buy the Pickaxe from the Provisioner’s Shop in Hernand, or get one free by completing Rhett’s early request quest. Check our guide on Rhett’s Request if you need help with that.
Equip the Pickaxe from your equipment menu, approach a vein, hold aim until the targeting circle turns blue, then strike. Each Azurite deposit holds up to 6 pieces per node. The Force Palm Attack works as a faster alternative that saves animation time but costs stamina.

All Azurite Mining Locations
1. Cliff Face West of Rocca’s Hill — Hernand (Earliest Location)
This is the best early-game Azurite spot and the easiest to reach from Hernand City. Head north from Hernand and cross the river to the cliff face just west of Rocca’s Hill. The deposit sits at the foot of the cliff by the river, so you do not need to climb high. Around five Azurite nodes are clustered in this area, enough for a solid early haul in one trip.
This is a great first stop since it is very close to the starting region and accessible even with early-game gear.
2. Deepwoods — West of Hernand
There are Azurite deposits in the mountainous Deepwoods area to the west of Hernand. The terrain here is more rugged than the Rocca’s Hill spot, but the ore is still reachable on foot without much trouble.
3. East of Anvil Hill — Nas River Tributary
A reliable cluster of Azurite sits just east of Anvil Hill near a riverside structure along a Nas River tributary. Unlike most other spots, the ore here is embedded in vertical cliff walls rather than on flat ground. You need to scan the rock faces closely since the blue coloring does not pop from a distance the same way it does at flatter sites.
Since Copper and Iron also appear in the Anvil Hill area, this is a solid multi-resource run. Check our guide on how to get Copper Ore and how to get Iron Ore to combine farming trips efficiently.
4. Stoneback Crab Wetlands — North of Delesyia (Best Farming Spot)
This is the single best dedicated Azurite farming location in the game. The Stoneback Crab Wetlands sit on a small island north of Delesyia, near BeardTree Gorge. The island packs multiple different mineable materials — Copper, Azurite, Epidote, Garnet, and others — into a compact area, making it a one-stop farming run for accessory upgrade materials.
Azurite deposits sit on the northeast side of the island and can be looped efficiently back to back. The entire farming circuit takes only a few minutes once you know the layout.
There is a small boss guarding the area — the Queen Stoneback Crab. She is a gimmick-style fight and can be handled fairly early. Defeating her gives you 5 Azurite as a direct reward alongside Diamonds and Garnets, so clear her first to unlock uninterrupted mining access. Nodes here respawn every seven in-game days.
For a tip on gear: bring the Mining Knuckledrill if you have it. It gives a 10% bonus ore drop chance per node. Upgrading it to Rank 6 unlocks Expert Mining, which boosts quantities further and produces refined versions of basic materials.
5. Cliff of Despair — Near Dewhaven
Just outside Dewhaven, Azurite veins appear along the Cliff of Despair in the open with no enemies nearby. The deep blue veins sit clearly against the rock face and are simple to spot. This is a low-risk, no-combat stop that works well as a quick pick-up while passing through the area.
6. Two Azurite Deposits — Delesyia Region
Two more Azurite locations exist within Delesyia itself — one north of the region and another slightly west of the capital city. Both are accessible from the main roads without major detours, making them convenient additions to any farming route through Delesyia.
7. Crimson Desert Region — Along the Northern Road Toward Varnia (Late-Game)
A large cluster of Azurite deposits runs along the northern road in the Crimson Desert region heading toward Varnia. Around seven deposits are found close together here, each containing up to 6 Azurite per node — a single farming loop can yield 40 or more pieces.
There are also Scolecite deposits in the same area, making it a great two-material run for late-game progression. The catch is that the Crimson Desert region is a late-game zone and is roughly 30 minutes of travel from Hernand. Unlock fast travel points along the way so you can return quickly on future runs.
Additionally, Azurite deposits appear along the western edge of the Crimson Desert region from Trader’s Expanse southward toward the Urdavah region. These are more spread out but worth mining opportunistically if you are already traveling through that part of the map. Our Urdavah research guide is a good companion if you are in that region.

Where to Buy Azurite (Vendors)
If you need Azurite fast and do not want to travel, Mineral Shops are the quickest option.
Mineral Shops at Cairn House and Karin Quarry each stock up to 3 Azurite at a time, priced at 2.50 silver each. Both shops are located north and northeast of Hernand. You need to liberate those locations first to unlock the shops. Our Mineral Shop unlock guide explains exactly how to do this.
Shops restock after two to three in-game days. Sleep at a campfire or bed to speed up time and trigger a restock. The vendor price is not cheap but is useful when you are one or two pieces short of a refinement and do not want to make a long trip.
How to Farm Azurite From Enemies
For mid-to-late game players, there is a combat-based Azurite source worth knowing.

Hexe Earthen Swordsmen are elite clay enemies found in northeastern Pywel, primarily between Deadfire Mountain, Hexe Sanctuary, and Denn River. They have a high drop chance of up to 2 Azurite per kill, making them a solid source when combined with combat farming.
These are tough enemies. Make sure your gear is at tier four or five minimum before heading into their territory, and stock healing items for the journey. If you want to check your gear progression first, our guides on how to increase attack level and how to increase defense level will help you prepare.
The drop is not guaranteed on every kill, so this method is best used alongside mining rather than as a replacement for it.
Queen Stoneback Crab — Bonus Azurite From a Boss Fight
Defeating the Queen Stoneback Crab as part of the side quest “The Queen’s Lake” rewards 5 Azurite directly, along with 2 Diamonds and 3 Garnets.
The quest is given by Diederik, a Greymane NPC found east of Demeniss near Bardtree Gorge. You can start it after unlocking the Greymanes Howling Hill camp in Chapter 3, making this one of the earlier boss-based Azurite sources available.
The fight itself is a mechanics-based encounter — you need to break mineral deposits on the boss’s back to reveal weak points, then stab them. Having decent stamina is important since the fight involves a lot of climbing and clinging to the boss. Upgrade your Stamina with Abyss Artifacts before going in. Our guide on how to get max stamina in Crimson Desert covers everything you need.
After defeating the Queen Stoneback Crab, Diederik also joins your Howling Hill camp as an armor vendor, making it a very worthwhile quest overall.
Azurite Farming Tips
Clear all nodes in one loop. Since Azurite respawns on a per-node timer of about seven in-game days, clearing every deposit in an area at once means they all refill at the same time. Partial clearing staggers the timer and wastes trips.
Set up near a fast travel point. The Stoneback Crab Wetlands and the Crimson Desert road deposits are far from Hernand. Unlock Abyss Nexus fast travel points near your farming spots so you can teleport back quickly on respawn days.
Use the Mining Knuckledrill when available. It gives bonus ore per swing and at higher ranks produces refined materials. Worth equipping over the basic Pickaxe once you have it.
Combine Azurite runs with other materials. The Stoneback Crab Wetlands gives Copper, Epidote, and Garnet on the same island. The Crimson Desert road gives Scolecite alongside Azurite. Plan double-material runs to make every trip efficient. Our guides on how to get Epidote in Crimson Desert and how to get Silver Ore are good companions for this.
Buy from vendors in a pinch. Mineral Shop stock at Cairn House and Karin Quarry is small but restocks quickly. Use it to bridge the gap between mining runs if you need just a couple of pieces.
