TL;DR
- The Combat God’s Plate Gloves are earned by completing The Bonepit questline in Tommaso, Tashkalp
- Tommaso is far northeast of Hernand — you’ll naturally reach it during Chapter 9
- The Bonepit is a bare-fist tournament with three fighters: Drakane, Jaleel, and Muskan
- Equip your Ordinary Gloves before entering — weapons are not allowed
- Upgrade Unarmed Combat and Grappling skills before you go
- Beat Muskan last to complete the quest and claim the gloves
- The gloves come with Lightning Affinity and the Showstopper Abyss Gear (requires Unarmed Combat Level 3)
If you build around fists and unarmed combat in Crimson Desert, the Combat God’s Plate Gloves are the reward you’re working toward. They add lightning to your punches, boost your critical hit rate, and come with a crowd-control Abyss Gear that can turn a bad situation around fast. But getting them means heading deep into the Crimson Desert, finding the town of Tommaso, and winning a bare-knuckle tournament against three increasingly dangerous opponents.
This guide covers the full path — where Tommaso is, how to prepare, and how to beat every fighter inside the Bonepit.
What Are the Combat God’s Plate Gloves?
These are among the best unarmed combat gloves in the game. Here’s what you’re getting:
Attack: 19 / Defense: 7. A solid balance for an aggressive playstyle — you’re not sacrificing defense entirely to go offensive.
Lightning Affinity. Your unarmed attacks gain a lightning element, which scales well with fast combo chains and elemental builds.
Critical Rate Level 1. Increases your chance of landing higher-damage crits. The faster you hit, the more this matters.
Showstopper Abyss Gear. When activated, delivers a heavy knockback effect. Excellent for crowd control — it creates space when you’re surrounded and lets you reset or isolate targets. Note that this requires Unarmed Combat Level 3 to use, so make sure you have that before relying on it.
The Abyss Gears on the gloves aren’t permanent. If you want to swap them out for something better suited to your build, any Witch in the game can extract and replace them. See our Crimson Desert Unlock Witches Abyss Gears Guide for how that system works.

Where Is Tommaso? How to Get There
Tommaso is the main settlement in the Tashkalp sub-region, located in the Crimson Desert — the game’s namesake region and one of the last major areas you reach. On the map, look far to the northeast of Hernand, just below where “Tashkalp” is written. The town sits roughly in the middle of the Crimson Desert region.
You won’t be pushed there by the main story until Chapter 9, when the narrative brings Kliff into the Crimson Desert region. That said, you can reach Tommaso earlier through open-world exploration if you’re willing to make the journey and handle the desert’s harsh conditions.
The desert is dangerous territory for under-prepared players. Temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius in-game, which drains stamina faster than normal regions. Bring plenty of healing food and recovery items before making the trip. Our How to Cook Best Healing Food in Crimson Desert guide covers the best options. A fast mount helps reduce travel time considerably — check our Crimson Desert Horse Guide if you’re still on a slow horse.
Once you arrive and activate the Abyss Nexus points around Tommaso, fast travel back becomes easy. For the general fast travel system, see our How to Fast Travel in Crimson Desert guide.
The town of Tommaso operates by its own rules. Those without money risk their lives in the Bonepit for the betting pot. Those with money watch and exploit. That’s the world you’re walking into.
How to Start The Bonepit Quest
When you arrive in Tommaso, look for the Emperor of the Bone Pit quest. The quest starts with a cutscene — speak to a Greymane who explains the fights happening at the Bonepit. Follow the quest marker from there to reach the arena.
Before you speak to the Bonepit Host to enter, do two things:
1. Equip your Ordinary Gloves as your weapon. Open the Weapons Wheel and switch to Ordinary Gloves before initiating the tournament. The Bonepit is bare-fist only — no swords, no shields. The first two fights force this automatically, but you want to be set up correctly from the start so nothing catches you off guard.
2. Make sure your skills are ready. The fights reward unarmed-focused builds. Invest skill points into Unarmed Combat and Grappling before entering if you haven’t already. Also pick up Focused Insight (Focus Level 3) if possible — this lets you press L1 during Focus (triggered by L3+R3) to counter incoming attacks in slow motion. It’s a massive advantage in all three fights. Our Best Skills to Level Up First in Crimson Desert guide can help you prioritize. And make sure your max health and stamina are as high as possible — see our guides on How to Get Max Health in Crimson Desert and How to Get Max Stamina in Crimson Desert.
Fight 1: How to Beat Drakane
Drakane is the first opponent and the weakest of the three. He uses basic combos and doesn’t hit especially hard.
The approach here is simple. Bully him with Square/Triangle attack combos and mix in R1+R2 for heavier hits. He will stagger under pressure if you stay aggressive. Don’t overthink it — Drakane is here to warm you up, not destroy you.
Use Focus if his combos start to connect. The slow-motion counter window makes dodging his strikes much easier.
Once Drakane goes down, press X to Participate in the next match. Don’t walk away — you need to confirm you want to continue to move to Jaleel.
Fight 2: How to Beat Jaleel
Jaleel is a meaningful step up from Drakane. He hits harder, takes more punishment, and his combos have more range. Don’t try to out-brawl him the same way you did Drakane.
For Jaleel, spam Spirit attacks with R1+R2 as your main damage source. These hit harder and break through his guard more consistently than light attacks. Use Focus (L3+R3) regularly — it restores your Spirit meter and lets you slow time to dodge and counter his hits cleanly. The counter window off L1 during Focus is especially valuable here because Jaleel’s strikes come faster.
Stay patient. If he starts a heavy combo, back off, let it finish, and punish the recovery window. Don’t get greedy after landing hits.

Fight 3: How to Beat Muskan
Muskan is the Bonepit’s final boss and a serious test. He is much larger than a normal human, relies entirely on brute strength, and has several dangerous attacks to learn.
Good news first: once you beat Drakane and Jaleel, you can fight Muskan as many times as you need without redoing the earlier fights. If you lose to Muskan, come back and try again — you won’t have to restart the whole tournament.
Muskan’s Key Attacks to Know:
Charge and Heavy Punch — He pauses briefly, then rushes forward and swings hard. You can block this with a shield raise, or sidestep in the opposite direction of his charge. After he whiffs, move in fast and land your best combo before he recovers.
Instant Kick — He circles you watching for an opening, then fires a powerful kick with little warning. Roll out of the way the moment you see him shift sideways. Once dodged, close the gap quickly and attack.
Kick Combo — A ground kick followed by an airborne kick. Getting hit by both knocks you down twice. Dodge the ground kick early to avoid the whole sequence.
Knee and Punch Combo — A heavy knee into a two-to-three punch follow-up. You can parry this. A successful parry leaves him briefly vulnerable. The window is short, so be ready to capitalise immediately.
Grab — He tries to grab your neck and slam you down. He looks stationary when winding up for it, similar to a charge. Dodge sideways when you see him stop moving and reach forward.
Supercharge Attack — His most dangerous move. He gathers energy with both hands, then lunges and unleashes a flurry of punches that launch you into the air. When the screen darkens and he starts charging up, stay moving and keep dodging. Don’t try to attack or block — just get out of range. This is his invulnerable combo phase.

How to Win:
Your main tool against Muskan is Grappling (Triangle+Circle on PlayStation / X+Square on Xbox). Spam grapples combined with Spirit attacks to drain his health efficiently. Grapples interrupt his wind-ups and deal good damage, making them more reliable than trying to trade punches with someone his size.
Use Focus (L3+R3) to refill your Spirit meter and to counter his hits with L1 just before they connect. Timing your counters around his attacks creates consistent safe windows to push damage.
When the screen goes dark and he enters his invulnerable supercharge combo, stop attacking entirely. Move, dodge, and wait it out. Once it ends, he’ll be open for a punish.
The fight rewards patience over aggression. Land clean hits in windows, grapple often, and avoid getting caught by the supercharge. Keep at it and Muskan goes down.
Claim the Combat God’s Plate Gloves
Beating Muskan completes The Bonepit questline. The Combat God’s Plate Gloves are your reward and become accessible as part of your quest completion rewards in Tommaso Town.
The gloves are yours to equip immediately. If you want to level them up further or swap out the Abyss Gears, see our How to Reinforce Equipment in Crimson Desert and How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor in Crimson Desert guides.
Remember that the Showstopper Abyss Gear requires Unarmed Combat Level 3 to activate. If you haven’t hit that yet, make it a priority — it turns the gloves from good into exceptional in group fights.

Build Tips for Using the Combat God’s Plate Gloves
These gloves are built for players who like staying in close and hitting fast. A few things that make the most of them:
Stack Unarmed Combat skills. The entire reward cycle of the Bonepit is designed around unarmed combat. The deeper you go into that skill tree, the more value you squeeze out of these gloves.
Pair with lightning or elemental accessories. The Lightning Affinity on the gloves scales better when your accessories also push elemental damage. See our Crimson Desert Accessories Guide for what to slot in.
Use Showstopper defensively. Don’t save it for isolated duels. The knockback shines most when you’re surrounded — pop it to reset position and pick fights on your terms.
Combine with food buffs. Unarmed combat is stamina-intensive. Make sure your food is giving stamina recovery alongside health. Our How to Cook Best Healing Food in Crimson Desert guide has the best options.
