TL;DR
- Double Jump is not available by default for Kliff — you have to unlock it manually
- There are two ways to get it: spend 1 Abyss Artifact in the Spirit Skill Tree, or learn it for free at Pororin Village
- The free method requires completing the Unreachable Village quest to access Pororin, then observing three Shai children jumping on a boulder
- Damiane and Oongka already have Double Jump when they join your party — no unlock needed
- The second jump must be timed at the peak of the first jump and costs 5 Spirit
- You can chain it with Aerial Force Palm for triple, quadruple, and even pentuple jumps
Double Jump is one of the most useful movement abilities in Crimson Desert. It extends your reach, opens up shortcuts, makes vertical exploration much easier, and sets you up for big aerial Force Palm chains. The problem is the game never tells you it exists. Many players spend hours without realizing it is even an option.
There are two ways to unlock it. One costs an Abyss Artifact and is instant. The other is completely free but requires a bit of legwork first. This guide covers both methods, how the ability actually works, and how to chain it into even bigger jumps.

Who Needs to Unlock Double Jump?
Not everyone in the party starts without it. Here is the situation for each character:
Kliff does not have Double Jump by default. You must unlock it using one of the two methods below.
Damiane already has Double Jump when she joins your party in Chapter 3. There is nothing to unlock — she can use it right away.
Oongka also comes with Double Jump when she becomes playable in Chapter 7. Same deal — no unlock required.
So this guide is primarily about getting Double Jump for Kliff as early as possible.
Method 1: Spirit Skill Tree — Fast and Reliable
The quickest way to get Double Jump is to buy it directly from the Spirit Skill Tree. It costs just 1 Abyss Artifact.

Open your menu, navigate to the Spirit Skill Tree, and find the Double Jump node. If you have an Abyss Artifact available, spend it there and the skill is immediately unlocked.
This method has no prerequisites. You can do it at any point in the game as long as you have an Abyss Artifact. Given how low the cost is and how much Double Jump improves your movement, this should be near the top of your priority list when you are building out Kliff’s early kit. Check our best skills to level up first guide if you want help deciding what to spend your Artifacts on.
If you need more Abyss Artifacts to spend, see our guide on how to get Abyss Cells and how to open sealed Abyss Artifacts.
Method 2: Watch and Learn at Pororin Village — Completely Free
If you want to save your Abyss Artifact for something else, you can unlock Double Jump for free by observing three Shai children jumping on a boulder in Pororin Village. This uses the Watch and Learn system, which lets Kliff absorb new skills just by watching someone else perform them.
The catch is that Pororin Village is locked at first. You cannot just walk in. You need to complete the Unreachable Village quest to gain entry.
Step 1: Trigger the Unreachable Village Quest
Pororin Village is southwest of the Howling Hill Greymanes Camp. The nearest landmarks are the Goldleaf Guildhouse and the Sanctum of Temperance.
When you approach the village, the Shai children will shoot sleeping darts at you and drag you away. This happens every time you try to enter. You need to trigger this three times in a row. After the third knockout, you will wake up nearby and a Shai child named Arkin will appear and speak with you, kicking off the Unreachable Village quest.
Step 2: Retrieve the Pororin Relic
Arkin asks you to find a lost relic in exchange for showing you how to enter the village freely. Follow the quest marker east to Trembling Gorge, then find Arkin again on a cliff ledge. She explains that the Pororin Relic is on top of a giant walking tree — an Ent called the Windwood Spirit Offin — that slowly patrols the area in a large circle.
You can wait near Arkin for the tree to come to you, or track it by following the broken trees and ground damage it leaves behind. When it gets close, jump from a nearby cliff or high point onto its body. Climb up its legs and torso, using rest points when the tree raises its limbs, and work your way all the way up to its head. The Pororin Relic sits on top. Grab it. The Ent will not attack you as long as you do not strike it.
Return the relic to Arkin to complete the quest and unlock access to Pororin Village permanently.
Step 3: Observe the Shai Children and Learn Double Jump
Now that Pororin Village is open, go inside. Find the three Shai children jumping on a large boulder. Get close to them and press LB / L1 / Ctrl to Observe. Kliff watches the children perform the jump and automatically learns the Double Jump skill — no Abyss Artifact needed.

How to Use Double Jump Correctly
Double Jump in Crimson Desert works differently from most games. It is not a traditional mid-air second jump. Understanding how it actually works will save you a lot of frustration.
Controls
PC (Keyboard & Mouse): Press Space to jump, then press Space again at the peak of the first jump.
PlayStation: Press X to jump, then press X again at the peak.
Xbox: Press A to jump, then press A again at the peak.
The Key Rule: Timing and Surface Dependency
The second jump must happen at the peak of your first jump, just as you are about to start falling. Press it too early and the second jump will not trigger properly. Press it too late and you will already be descending.
Also important: Crimson Desert’s Double Jump is surface-launched, not fully mid-air. You need to initiate the second jump while Kliff is still in the rising phase of the first. It does not work the same way as pressing jump twice while already falling — that is not a double jump, it will trigger glide instead.
Double Jump costs 5 Spirit per use. If you have been burning through Spirit with Force Palm or sprinting, make sure you have enough before attempting it.
Watch Out for the Glide Conflict
If you also have the glide ability unlocked, there is a known interaction to be aware of. Double Jump and glide share the jump button, and the game decides which one to trigger based on your proximity to the ground. If you jump from too high up and press jump again, it will activate glide instead of a double jump. If this keeps happening, initiate the second press lower to the ground, during the rising phase of your first jump rather than at height.

Chain Aerial Force Palm for Even Higher Jumps
Double Jump is just the starting point. You can chain it with Aerial Force Palm to reach much greater heights.
After your double jump, while you are in the air, press RS / R3 / Middle Mouse to use an Aerial Force Palm. This launches Kliff upward from the air itself. You can do this up to three times mid-air depending on your Force Palm upgrade level, giving you access to triple, quadruple, and even pentuple jumps in practice.
The combo looks like this: jump, double jump at peak, then fire Aerial Force Palm one, two, or three times to keep climbing. Once you have enough height, open your glide to cover distance.
This is especially useful in Abyss areas with tall vertical sections and sky bridges. Combined with glide, it is the fastest way to reach high platforms without burning through all your stamina on climbing. Why You Want Double Jump Early
Double Jump is not required to complete the main campaign. The game gives you enough movement options — climbing, gliding, and Force Palm — to get through without it. But once you have it, you will use it constantly without thinking.
The world of Pywel is packed with vertical spaces, hidden ledges, rooftop secrets, and collectibles placed just above where a single jump can reach. Double Jump gives you access to all of that without needing to find a long detour route around. It also makes puzzle navigation smoother and speeds up how quickly you can scale buildings and ruins during exploration.
Get it as early as you can. One Abyss Artifact is a small price, and the Pororin Village route is worth knowing even if you already bought it — since unlocking the village opens up a dye shop, pet clothing, and several faction quests too. Where to Play Crimson Desert
Double Jump is a small unlock with a big payoff in Crimson Desert. Spend one Abyss Artifact if you want it immediately, or complete the Unreachable Village quest at Pororin to get it for free. Either way, get it early. Once it clicks into your movement toolkit alongside Aerial Force Palm and glide, the whole world opens up differently.
