Crimson Desert: Where to Find the Mysterious Energy Zone in Demeniss City
TL;DR
- The Mysterious Energy Zone in Demeniss City is an Abyss Nexus hidden inside the city walls
- Kliff is attacked on sight by Demenissian guards — use Damiane instead to enter safely early
- Damiane’s starting armor has a Demeniss Faction Disguise, letting her walk through the city without being attacked
- Hug the castle walls and walk through the streets to find the Abyss Nexus next to the Demeniss Castle wall
- Stand on the circular plate to activate it as a fast travel point and clear the Mysterious Energy marker from your map
- Kliff can enter freely after completing Chapter 8: Blood Coronation
Demeniss City is one of the largest settlements in Crimson Desert, and it has a Mysterious Energy Zone hidden inside its walls. That question mark on your map is pointing to an Abyss Nexus — a fast travel point that lets you teleport back to the city instantly whenever you need it. The problem is that guards inside will attack Kliff on sight, making it tricky to reach before the story gives you clearance.
This guide tells you exactly where the Mysterious Energy Zone is in Demeniss City, how to get inside the city without a fight, and how to activate the fast travel point as early as possible.

What Is a Mysterious Energy Zone?
Before diving into the location, it helps to know what you are looking for. Mysterious Energy Zones appear as large question mark icons on your Crimson Desert map. They show up when you are in the vicinity of an Abyss Nexus, an Abyss Cresset, or another exploration challenge like an Ancient Ruin.
In the case of Demeniss City, the Mysterious Energy is coming from an Abyss Nexus — a flat stone plate with an engraved circular pattern. You activate it simply by standing on the center until it glows blue. No puzzle required. Once activated, the question mark disappears from your map and is replaced by a blue fast travel icon you can teleport to at any time.
To see the Mysterious Energy markers on your map, make sure your map filter is set to All or Environment. Other filters hide them completely.

The Problem: Guards Attack Kliff on Sight
Demeniss City can technically be visited from as early as Chapter 4: The Price of Knowledge. However, the Demenissian guards treat Kliff as a hostile outsider and will attack him the moment he steps inside. Depending on your gear level at that point, they can overwhelm and defeat him quickly.
This is where the problem lies. You can see the Mysterious Energy marker on the map, you can get to the city — but the moment Kliff steps inside, guards swarm him before he can reach the Abyss Nexus.
There are two clean solutions.

Solution 1: Use Damiane to Enter Early
The fastest and safest way to get the Demeniss City fast travel point early is to switch your playable character from Kliff to Damiane.
Damiane’s starting armor comes with a Demeniss Faction Disguise passive. This means she can walk straight through the city streets without triggering any guard aggression. The soldiers do not attack her because as far as they are concerned, she belongs there.
Simply open the character switch menu, swap to Damiane, and walk into Demeniss City. Head through the streets while hugging the castle walls. Keep following them until you reach the Abyss Nexus, which is positioned right next to the Demeniss Castle wall. Stand on the circular plate and hold your position until it glows blue. That activates the fast travel point. The Mysterious Energy marker will disappear from your map and be replaced by the blue Abyss Nexus icon.
After that, you can teleport back to this exact spot in the city any time you need — even as Kliff, once he has clearance.
Solution 2: Wait Until Chapter 8
If you do not want to switch characters, you can simply wait. After completing Chapter 8: Blood Coronation, the Demenissian troops will no longer treat Kliff as hostile. He can walk through the city freely without triggering any fights.
At that point, finding the Abyss Nexus is straightforward. Head inside the city and walk along the castle walls until you spot the circular stone plate near the Demeniss Castle wall. Stand on it to activate the fast travel point.
This approach does mean you will not have the Demeniss City fast travel available during Chapters 4 through 7, which is a long stretch without easy access to this part of the map. Using Damiane is the far better move if you want the point activated early.
Where Exactly Is the Abyss Nexus?
The Abyss Nexus sits inside the city itself, close to the Demeniss Castle wall. Once you are inside the city, hug the inner castle walls and walk the streets in that direction. The Nexus is a distinctive flat stone plate with a circular engraving on it — look for the faint glow on the ground.
If you are struggling to spot it, use Kliff’s Blinding Flash ability from a high vantage point to scan the area. It makes glimmering objects like Abyss Nexus plates easier to pick out in the environment. You can also press L1 + R1 / LB + RB / Ctrl + Left Click to activate your sword’s Guiding Light, which highlights nearby Nexus plates with a blue glow when they are within line of sight.

Why You Want This Fast Travel Point Early
Demeniss City is one of the largest settlements in Crimson Desert. It is bigger than Hernand City and packed with NPCs, vendors, services, and story content. Having a fast travel point inside the city means you can teleport in and out without the long ride from Hernand or any other region.
This is especially useful during the Demeniss-heavy quests in Chapters 5 through 8, where you will be going in and out of the region frequently. Locking in this fast travel point as early as possible — with Damiane — saves a significant amount of travel time.

Tips for Finding All Mysterious Energy Zones
The Demeniss City Abyss Nexus is just one of dozens of Mysterious Energy Zones scattered across the map. Here are a few things that make hunting them down easier across the whole game.
Check your map filter. Mysterious Energy markers only appear when your map is set to All or Environment. Any other view hides them. If a zone you heard about is not showing up, this is almost always the reason.
Use Blinding Flash regularly. Holding the Blinding Flash input from a high point makes nearby Nexus plates and Cressets glow visibly in the distance. It is the best tool for spotting them without already knowing the exact location.
Not every Mysterious Energy is a Nexus. Some question marks lead to Abyss Cressets that require solving a puzzle first. Others point to Ancient Ruins or Secret Places. Cressets are worth prioritizing because clearing them rewards an Abyss Artifact — a skill point — on top of the fast travel unlock.
Damiane cannot use Abyss sky island fast travel. The Abyss-based floating island fast travel network is exclusive to Kliff. Damiane can use all ground-level Abyss Nexuses and Cressets, but not the sky island ones. Keep this in mind when planning exploration routes with her.
