Head northeast of Drywind Valley to find the Sanctum of Renunciation. You are looking for a destroyed building surrounded by patches of greenery, sitting in the dry desert-like stretch of land between Demeniss and Crimson Desert. The landscape contrast — green growth against the arid terrain — makes the ruins stand out once you are in the right area.

Use any nearby Abyss Nexus to fast travel close, then ride or run the rest of the way. If you need a refresher on fast travel, see our fast travel guide.

This is one of three sanctums tied to the Witch of Strength questline, alongside the Sanctum of Expiation. Completing all three is required to finish her faction quest.

Liberating the Sanctum of Renunciation

Do not go in expecting a quiet puzzle — the sanctum is crawling with cultists both inside and outside the ruins. Defeat them all while staying near the building. A green bar at the top of your screen tracks your progress. Once it drops to 0%, the sanctum is liberated and you can move freely.

Watch out for flying cultists. These are the ones that tend to frustrate players the most. The best approach is simple: shoot them down with arrows first, then rush in to finish them on the ground. Our guide on how to beat flying enemies in Crimson Desert covers this in more detail if you are struggling with them.

Once the bar hits zero, a cutscene plays and the cleansing phase begins.

How to Cleanse the Sanctum of Renunciation in Crimson Desert

You need two Fusion Reactor Cores to power the generator and cleanse the sanctum. After the cutscene ends, turn around and check your mini-map — two cube icons will mark the core locations. Head toward them to enter a room divided by iron bars on both sides.

Fusion Reactor Core: XIII-III

Enter through the southeastern gap in the bars. Once inside, jump up to the upper ledge to find Core XIII-III sitting there. Grab it and store it in your Kuku Pot.

This core is the tip of a pillar, not a generator slot. You need to place it on top of the pillar and then lock it in using the Aerial Force Palm skill — that means jumping first, then triggering Force Palm at the peak of your jump. When the core is in the right position, you will see green leaves swirling around it. That is your confirmation. To discard the core from your Kuku Pot before placing it, simply open the Kuku Pot and select discard.

If you are still getting used to Aerial Force Palm timing, our parry, counter, and dodge guide has useful context on chaining movement with combat skills.

Fusion Reactor Core: X

Head to the other side of the room and enter through the other gap in the bars. Look up — the second core is suspended above you. If you cannot reach it with Axiom Force from the ground, climb a nearby object to get better elevation. Use Axiom Force to seal Core X into your Kuku Pot.

Take it to the generator. Discard it from the Kuku Pot, then use Axiom Force to drag it toward the empty square slot on the generator. Once it is positioned correctly, hit it with Force Palm to push it firmly into place.

Not fully comfortable with Axiom Force yet? Our Axiom Force guide walks through the mechanic from the basics up.

Reward — Witch of Strength and Blueprint II: Kuku Flamespitter

Once both cores are placed, the generator activates and a cutscene plays. The Witch of Strength appears to thank you personally for cleansing the sanctum. Your reward is Blueprint II: Kuku Flamespitter.

If you are keeping track of all your crafting blueprints, see our guide on what to do with learned recipes and blueprints to make the most of them.

This also counts as one of three sanctums required to complete the Witch of Strength questline. Make sure you also clear the other two to earn her Witch’s Token — which is needed to progress toward the White Crow endgame content.
