TL;DR
- There are 99 Tablet Shards hidden across 48 locations throughout Final Fantasy Resonance.
- Collect them all and trade them in at the Oblivion Palace near Grandport to unlock 25 treasure chests, with Lightbringer (179 Physical Attack) as the final reward.
- No Tablet Shards are permanently missable. Even Fina’s Psyche shards can be collected later via the Tower of Mysidia magic book.
- The last 3 shards are inside the Crystal Tower in Chapter 7 — you cannot reach 99 shards before that.
- Shard #99 is in Dragon’s Maw, a high-level dungeon — save it for late Chapter 7.
- Mt. Thunderclap has shards on both paths. You need to take each path separately to get all three.
What Are Tablet Shards in Final Fantasy Resonance?
Tablet Shards are golden collectibles hidden in towns and dungeons throughout Final Fantasy Resonance. They glow when you get close. You collect them by simply walking up to them and interacting.
Once you have them, take them to the Enigmatic Princess inside the Oblivion Palace, located near Grandport in the Kingdom of Grandshelt. She is rebuilding a broken tablet and rewards you with treasure from locked chambers behind her as you bring in more shards. There are 25 total chests spread across four chambers. The rewards unlock at regular shard milestones starting at 3 shards and ending at 99 — when the final chest opens and you receive Lightbringer, a Greatsword with 179 Physical Attack.
For a full breakdown of every chest reward and how Lightbringer fits into a character build, see our guide on how to get Lightbringer in Final Fantasy Resonance.
Important Things to Know Before You Start
- None are missable. You can collect any shard you missed after finishing the story in free-roam.
- Fina’s Psyche exception: This dungeon has no exit to the world map. Once the story takes you through it, use the magic book inside the Tower of Mysidia to re-enter and collect any missed shards.
- Mt. Thunderclap has a branching path. One shard is on the harder path, one is on the easier path. You need to clear both routes in separate runs to get all three shards from this dungeon.
- The Colosseum shard requires Chapter 4. The Colosseum in Grandshelt does not open until Chapter 4. Shard #58 is locked inside it.
- Dragon’s Maw is a late-game dungeon. Its difficulty level matches the Crystal Tower. Wait until Chapter 7 before entering.
- Hand shards in frequently. The Oblivion Palace is near Grandport. Visit it whenever the story takes you past there to open new chests early — especially the Magicite and Magicite Cryst rewards in the middle chambers.

Trophies and Achievements Tied to Tablet Shards
Two trophies are directly tied to the Tablet Shard system:
- Princess’s Reward — Unlocks when you open the very first chest (3 shards).
- Memento — Unlocks when you reach 60 shards and the princess recovers her second memory.
Two more are indirectly tied to the shard count because of specific chest rewards:
- Legendary Arms — Requires the Ancient Firearm, which unlocks at 76 shards.
- The Weaponsmith — Requires both Adamantite rewards, which unlock at 80 and 89 shards.
For the platinum or full completion achievement, you need all 99 shards. You only need 89 for the Adamantite-related trophy, so technically 10 shards can be skipped for that one milestone — but you need all 99 for Lightbringer either way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are any Tablet Shards missable in Final Fantasy Resonance?
No. Every shard can be collected in free-roam after completing the story. The only situation to be careful about is Fina’s Psyche — it has no exit to the world map mid-run — but you can re-enter it later using the magic book in the Tower of Mysidia. Nothing is permanently locked out.
How many Tablet Shards are there in Final Fantasy Resonance?
There are 99 Tablet Shards in total, spread across 48 locations covering every island and chapter in the game.
When can you get Lightbringer in Final Fantasy Resonance?
Lightbringer requires all 99 shards. The last three shards are inside the Crystal Tower in Chapter 7, so the earliest you can claim it is late in Chapter 7. Dragon’s Maw also holds shard #99, but its difficulty is high — so practically speaking, you are looking at very near the end of the main story.
Where is the Oblivion Palace in Final Fantasy Resonance?
The Oblivion Palace is near Grandport in the Kingdom of Grandshelt. It is a large, visible structure close to the Grandport stretch of the map. The Enigmatic Princess inside Area 1 takes your shards and opens the chest chambers. Danger level zero — no enemies inside.
Do you need all 99 Tablet Shards for any trophies?
The main trophy requirements are 60 shards for the Memento trophy, 76 for the Ancient Firearm (Legendary Arms trophy), and 80 and 89 for the two Adamantite drops (The Weaponsmith trophy). You need all 99 for Lightbringer, but there is no trophy specifically for collecting every single shard — the trophy rewards stop at 89.
What is the best reward from the Oblivion Palace besides Lightbringer?
The Magicite Cryst at 64 shards is the standout mid-game prize. It normally costs 250,000 Gil at the Colosseum shop — getting one free just from collecting shards is a major advantage for awakening your Visions early. The Arch Drain at 94 shards is also strong — it restores 5% of max MP each time you stagger an enemy, which pairs excellently with stagger-focused builds.
Can I miss the Mt. Thunderclap shards?
You cannot miss them permanently — all shards can be collected in free-roam. But during your first visit, Mt. Thunderclap forces you to choose between two paths. Each path has its own shard. Use the Save Point Teleport to return to the dungeon entrance and take the second route to collect the shard on the path you did not take first time. Both are fully accessible in free-roam after the story as well.
