How to Beat Lithus the Cubewalker in Crimson Desert
Lithus the Cubewalker is a stone monster boss found in the Southern Quarry, located in the southern portion of Hernand in House Felix territory. He guards this quarry as part of the Grace Estate questline, and you’ll need to defeat him to make real liberation progress on the area.
He looks intimidating. He isn’t. Once you know his weakness, this fight becomes very manageable.
Before heading in, make sure your gear is in good shape. Upgrade your weapon and armor at the blacksmith and stock up on food — cooked meals are your best healing option in a fight like this. If you want a full early game prep list, check out our best early items guide and our tips on how to get better equipment.
Lithus the Cubewalker Weakness
Lithus’s only weakness is the glowing cube on top of his head. Without pulling it out, you’ll barely scratch him. This cube is what holds his stone body together.
To expose it, you need Axiom Force — your telekinetic grab ability. Once you yank the cube free, Lithus falls to pieces and you can freely attack any part of his body.
How to Beat Lithus the Cubewalker — Step by Step
- Activate Axiom Force (hold L3 on PS / hold RS on Xbox / hold Tab on PC) and aim directly at the glowing cube on Lithus’s head.
- Use L2 + Right Stick (PS) / LT + Right Stick (Xbox) to pull the cube out of his head.
- Lithus will crumble into pieces. Now attack freely — go for any cluster of his body parts.
- Spam R2 heavy attacks for the most damage while he’s down. The Blinding Flash Finisher also works well here if you have it unlocked.
- Lithus will eventually reassemble. When he does, back off and use the rock structures in the quarry as cover to dodge his attacks.
- The safest window to grab his cube again is when he’s walking away from you or just after he finishes an attack. Don’t try to grab during his active animations — he moves too fast.
- Repeat until he’s dead.
That’s the entire loop. Pull the cube, attack the pieces, dodge when he gets up, repeat.

You can also use Axiom Force + Triangle (PS) / Y (Xbox) / R (PC) to “Seal” the FPower Core – Verse of Sowing into your Kuku Pot after the fight. How to Liberate the Southern Quarry
Beating Lithus gives you a large chunk of liberation progress, but it won’t finish the job on its own. You still need to clear the Bleed Bandits scattered across the Southern Quarry.
One important thing to know: liberation progress does not reset on death. If you die and respawn, all the enemies you already cleared stay cleared. You can chip away at this in multiple runs.
Here’s how to approach it:
Clear the Bleed Bandits — these are the main source of liberation progress. Work through them methodically. Use the terrain to your advantage and don’t rush into large groups at once.
Destroy the structures — there’s an Infirmary, Barracks, and Training Ground in the quarry. You can destroy these with R1+R2 (PS) / RB+LB (Xbox) or set them on fire. They don’t give much liberation progress on their own, but destroying the Infirmary stops wounded enemies from rejoining the fight, and destroying the Barracks reduces enemy attack power. Worth doing before you go after the main groups.
Explosive barrels — if you spot any black barrels with white crosses, throw them into clusters of enemies. They deal heavy damage to groups and are great for opening fights.
It takes a few minutes to fully clear the quarry, but stay patient. Keep clearing enemies and the liberation meter will tick up steadily.
Completing this area earns Hernandian Contribution with House Felix, which helps you build relationships with Hernand’s factions. Our Contribution Points guide explains what you can spend it on.
Tips for the Lithus Fight
- Don’t grab early. Wait for Lithus to finish an attack before going for the cube. Grabbing during an active swing will get you hit.
- Rock cover is your best friend. The quarry has rock structures everywhere. Use them between grab attempts to break line of sight and recover.
- Heavy attacks deal the most damage when Lithus is scattered. Get in, spam R2, and get out before he reassembles.
- Bring food. Grilled meat or any cooked food is your primary healing source. Don’t go in without it. See our best healing food guide.
- Palmar Pills are useful if you’re nearly dead mid-fight and almost done. They revive you on the spot. Our guide on Palmar Pills explains how to get them.
