Hysilens Build Guide HSR 4.3 — Hysilens, also known as Helektra, is a 5-star Physical character who follows the Path of Nihility. She was released in Version 3.5 and is the Daughter of the Sea — a Chrysos Heir from Styxia, the coastal city of intoxication and dreams. In combat, Hysilens is a DoT hypercarry who automatically spreads all four damage-over-time debuff types across the enemy team and then amplifies them dramatically through her Zone-based Ultimate. She is widely regarded as one of the best DoT units ever released in Honkai Star Rail and revitalized the DoT archetype in the 3.x era.

Hysilens Kit Breakdown

Basic ATK – Leave It to the Waves

Deals Physical DMG equal to 100% of Hysilens’s ATK to a single enemy. Low priority in her rotation. Use it only when you are low on Skill Points and need to conserve resources.

Skill – Tide’s Verdict

Deals Physical DMG to a single enemy and increases the DMG taken by all enemies by 20% for 3 turns. This is a simple but powerful debuff. A 20% universal DMG taken amplifier benefits every character on your team, including sub-DPS and off-turn damage. Use it every time it is available.

Ultimate – Maelstrom Rhapsody (The Zone)

This is the core of Hysilens’s kit. Her Ultimate deploys a Zone on the battlefield for 3 turns. While the Zone is active:

• All enemies have their ATK reduced by 15% and DEF reduced by 25%.
• For every 1 instance of DoT an enemy takes while inside the Zone, Hysilens deals bonus Physical DoT equal to 80% of her ATK. This can trigger up to 8 times per turn cycle.
• The Zone does not repeatedly trigger on the same DoT instance — each unique DoT tick counts once.

The more DoT types active on an enemy, the more bonus Physical DoT hits the Zone fires. This is why stacking all four DoT types — Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, and Shock — is so important. With all four active plus Kafka re-triggering them, the Zone hits its 8-instance cap quickly and reliably.

Talent – Sirenic Serenade

Whenever any ally attacks an enemy, Hysilens’s Talent has a 100% base chance of inflicting one DoT debuff on that enemy. It always prioritizes a DoT type the enemy does not yet have, cycling through Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, and Shock. Each of these DoTs deals 25% of Hysilens’s ATK per turn for 2 turns.

The individual DoT values are modest, but the real purpose of Sirenic Serenade is stack-building. It ensures every enemy always has multiple active DoT types to feed her Zone’s 8-instance cap. This also means that even support characters who do not naturally apply DoT still contribute to Hysilens’s damage just by attacking.

Technique – Enraptured

Hysilens creates a Special Dimension for 20 seconds before battle. Nearby enemies enter the Enraptured state — they stop attacking Hysilens and follow the Dimension. When battle begins, Hysilens automatically applies two random DoT effects to all enemies. This is an excellent opener that gives her an early head start on Zone damage before even using a Skill or Ultimate.

Hysilens Trace Priority

Level her Ultimate first. The Zone is her primary source of damage and the sooner you max it, the more Physical DoT hits she fires per Zone activation. Then level her Skill for the increased DMG taken debuff. Her Talent levels up the base DoT values but the Skill and Ultimate scale faster.

Best Light Cones for Hysilens in HSR 4.3

1. Why Does the Ocean Sing (Signature – Best in Slot)

Hysilens’s signature 5-star light cone is her best option. It provides high Effect Hit Rate, which directly feeds the Strings of Pearl trace for up to a 90% DMG boost. It also amplifies her DoT output and ensures she consistently hits the EHR threshold in any relic setup. If you have pulled Hysilens, chasing her signature is a strong investment.

2. Those Many Springs (5-Star Alternative)

A strong alternative for DoT teams, particularly in teams that also feature Black Swan. It boosts DoT damage dealt by the wearer and provides useful debuff synergies. Not as universal as the signature but very effective in the right setup.

3. Eyes of the Prey (4-Star – Best F2P Option)

This is the best 4-star light cone for Hysilens. It gives substantial Effect Hit Rate and boosts the wearer’s DoT DMG. Both stats are exactly what Hysilens needs. Superimpose it for even more EHR value. This is the first light cone to farm or pull for if you do not have the signature.

4. Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (4-Star – Energy Option)

Gives Effect Hit Rate and restores Energy when the wearer attacks enemies with reduced DEF. Since Hysilens’s Ultimate reduces enemy DEF by 25%, this cone can give a nice Energy return after her Zone is active. Works well for keeping her Ultimate cycling faster.

Best Relics for Hysilens in HSR 4.3

Best 4-Piece Set: Prisoner in Deep Confinement

This is Hysilens’s best-in-slot relic set. The 2-piece gives 12% ATK. The 4-piece gives her ATK that ignores up to 18% of the enemy’s DEF for every DoT type currently active on them, stacking up to 3 times. Since Hysilens’s Talent automatically applies all four DoT types, she almost always has the full 3-stack DEF shred bonus active. Combined with her Ultimate’s own 25% DEF reduction, enemies are taking significantly more damage from every hit.

Alternative: 2-Piece Prisoner + 2-Piece Eagle of Twilight Line

If you lack a clean 4-piece Prisoner set, mixing 2-piece Prisoner with 2-piece Eagle of Twilight Line gives ATK and a useful SPD or action-related bonus. A solid transitional setup while farming better pieces.

Best Planar Ornaments: Revelry by the Sea

This is Hysilens’s best planar ornament. The 2-piece gives 12% ATK plus additional DoT DMG that scales based on how high her ATK is — 12% DoT DMG at 2400 ATK, increasing to 24% DoT DMG at 3400 ATK. Since Hysilens wants very high ATK for her Zone’s Physical DoT hits and her Talent’s DoT ticks, this ornament compounds well with her stat goals.

Alternative Planar Ornament: Firmament Frontline: Glamoth

Gives ATK and a further ATK% bonus when Hysilens’s SPD is at or above 135 or 160. Works well in faster builds where you want to keep Hysilens acting frequently to reapply her Skill debuff and cycle her Ultimate sooner.

Hysilens Stat Priority

• Body: Effect Hit Rate (must hit 120% for the Strings of Pearl 90% DMG boost)
• Feet: ATK% or SPD
• Planar Sphere: Physical DMG Boost%
• Link Rope: ATK%
• Substats priority: Effect Hit Rate (to 120%) > ATK% > SPD > CRIT Rate/DMG (low priority for DoT builds)

Note: Hysilens’s DoT damage does not crit, so CRIT stats are not a priority. Focus on ATK and Effect Hit Rate above everything else.

Best Teams for Hysilens in HSR 4.3

Team 1: Kafka Core (Best Team)

Hysilens always needs Kafka. Kafka’s ability to immediately re-trigger active DoT effects on hit is the fastest way to feed Hysilens’s Zone its 8-instance cap. Kafka attacks, every DoT ticks immediately, the Zone fires up to 8 bonus Physical DoT hits. This is the DoT archetype’s fundamental loop and it is extremely powerful. The third and fourth slots are flexible.

• Hysilens / Kafka / Black Swan / Huohuo: The premium 4-man team. Black Swan stacks more DoT types and provides Arcana debuffs. Huohuo keeps the team alive and restores Energy. Extremely high ceiling.
• Hysilens / Kafka / Jiaoqiu / Gallagher: Jiaoqiu reduces enemy Fire RES and stacks Ashen Roast for a massive DoT multiplier. Gallagher is a cost-effective healer who also applies Burn, adding another DoT source.
• Hysilens / Kafka / Ruan Mei / Lingsha: Ruan Mei gives Weakness Break efficiency and a teamwide DMG amplifier. Lingsha heals and applies her own debuffs.

Team 2: F2P Budget Team

If you lack 5-star supports, Hysilens / Kafka / Sampo / Asta works well. Sampo applies Wind Shear stacks and boosts DoT DMG. Asta buffs the whole team’s SPD and ATK%, which helps the team cycle faster and hit harder. This is not the most optimal setup but it clears all standard content reliably.

Team 3: Hysilens + Tribbie

Pairing Hysilens with Tribbie adds another layer of AoE DMG amplification. Tribbie’s kit buffs DMG dealt by the whole team and works independently of DoT mechanics, which means she stacks cleanly with Hysilens’s Skill debuff and Zone. Add Kafka as the third slot and a flexible healer for the fourth.

Hysilens Eidolons – Are They Worth It?

Hysilens has some of the best eidolons of any DoT character in the game. Several sources recommend her E1 over her signature light cone if you have to choose one vertical investment.

• E1 – Why My Heart Grieves, You Inquire: When using her Ultimate, if enemies have DoT active, Hysilens deals an immediate hit for 150% of the original DoT damage. She also recovers 1 Skill Point when deploying a Zone. Additionally, she can inflict a second DoT instance that coexists with her Talent’s DoT, ensuring she always has 8 DoT stacks for her Zone’s maximum trigger count. This is a 16% raw team DoT damage increase and one of the strongest E1s in the game. Prioritize this eidolon.
• E2 – Why the Waves Roar, You Entreat: While the Zone is active, all enemies have their All-Type Resistance reduced by 20%. A strong teamwide RES shred that benefits every damage type your team deals.
• E3: Increases Ultimate level by 2 and Basic ATK by 1. Boosts Zone damage.
• E4 – Behold, For What Does Time Flow: While the Zone is active, the damage boost from the Strings of Pearl bonus trace applies to all allies, not just Hysilens. A 20% All-Type RES Pen for the whole team, essentially.
• E6: Further enhances her DoT output and Zone interactions. A significant endgame power spike for dedicated Hysilens players.

Is Hysilens Worth Pulling in HSR 4.3?

Yes, if you have or plan to pull Kafka. Without Kafka, Hysilens loses her primary DoT amplifier and cannot reliably max out her Zone’s 8-instance trigger cap. With Kafka, she is the strongest DoT hypercarry in the game and she revitalized an archetype that had fallen behind in the 2.x meta. Her teams also do not heavily overlap with other archetypes, so she occupies a unique slot without competing for the same supports as Feixiao, Phainon, or Jingliu.
