007 First Light A Night Out is Chapter 6 of the game and it is the first real field mission that puts Bond in a busy nightclub with live dialogue choices. If you are wondering whether any of your choices actually matter, which options to pick when talking to the Contact, or what happens with the Woman in Red, this guide covers every dialogue moment in the mission from start to finish.
TL;DR – A Night Out Dialogue at a Glance
- The Woman in Red encounters are mostly cosmetic — your choices do not change the outcome.
- During the phone hack, select Turn Her Down or Play Along — both work and neither breaks the hack.
- For the Contact negotiation, the recommended path is: The Price Is Up → Pressure (or Reason) → Talk to Woman in Red → Talk to Contact → Talk to Contact → Convince.
- At the very end of the Contact conversation, you must choose Convince to advance the mission.
- There are three routes to get upstairs: the Stamp route, the Balcony climb, and the Staff Corridor.
- The boss fight at the extraction point plays out the same regardless of any dialogue decisions.
A Night Out Mission Overview
After Bond and the other Double-O recruits complete their training in A New Home, they are given what looks like a night off at a nightclub. MI6 had other plans. Every recruit receives a field test notification almost immediately. The objective is simple on paper: find a contact dressed in red, recover a dead drop package, gather intel on Joshua Pike, and then get out safely.
Bond’s signal phrase to identify the contact is: “The Epiphyllum oxypetalum only blossoms at night.” It works — just not on the person he tries it on first. Of course, things go sideways from there. A jealous boyfriend, a suspicious woman in red, a tailing job, and a messy extraction fight all stand between you and the mission end. If you want help with the A New Home challenges that come before this mission, that guide has you covered.
Woman in Red – All Dialogue Choices and What They Do
The Woman in Red is the first character Bond speaks to at the bar. She is not the real contact. The real contact is a man in a red T-shirt standing at the corner of the same bar. The game deliberately frames the objective (“find a contact in red”) to mislead you. After Bond uses the signal phrase on the woman, her jealous boyfriend interrupts and shoves Bond away — the relationship between these two becomes a recurring complication throughout the mission.
First Encounter at the Bar
The opening cutscene at the bar is scripted. You say the signal phrase, she is not the contact, the boyfriend intervenes. After it ends, pivot immediately to the man in the red T-shirt at the bar corner — he is the real contact. He tells Bond there is a package waiting in the men’s toilets. Neither the initial encounter with the woman nor the boyfriend interrupt changes what comes next. The mission needs this first interaction to progress, so it cannot be skipped.
Dead Drop and the First Boyfriend Fight
Head to the men’s toilets (turn left from the main stage), open the third stall, and interact with the wall-mounted cabinet inside to retrieve the dead drop. It contains a tablet with your full mission briefing — Bond has to identify which of three suspects is the Trade Ministry leak.
As soon as you exit the stall, the jealous boyfriend storms in with the fight prompt. Dodge red attacks, parry yellow ones, and chain your strikes. Grabs work well to break his rhythm and landing combos builds Instinct. After defeating him, exit and speak with Nash, who fills Bond in on Pike’s location upstairs.
Getting Upstairs — Three Routes
The upstairs VIP lounge where Pike is located is gated. There are three ways in:
- Stamp route – Go to the coat room window near the bathrooms. Speak with the man in the black shirt and give the name ‘Jones’ when prompted. He stamps your hand. Return to the bar and use the guarded stairs — security will let you through.
- Balcony route (Above and Beyond) – Go to the right side of the main stage, squeeze through a gap near the exit, and climb the platforms on the left. Cross pipes, follow ledges, and jump onto the balcony to reach the upper floor.
- Staff corridor route – Take the door to the right of the bar counter, then the next door on the right inside the staff corridor. Climb the platforms at the back and squeeze through a gap to come out beside Pike’s booth.
Second Encounter During the Phone Hack
Once upstairs, use the Q-Lens to mark Pike in his white shirt on the dance floor, then equip the Q-Watch to start hacking his phone. You must stay within range while the data transfer progresses — Pike moves around, so keep following him.
The Woman in Red approaches Bond mid-hack. Choose either Turn Her Down or Play Along — both dismiss her without breaking the hack. Neither option is wrong here. If you chose Play Along, Bond flirts briefly and arranges to meet her outside, which affects how she behaves during the Contact negotiation later: she becomes more confrontational when she reappears and finds Bond with another woman. If you chose Turn Her Down, her reappearance during the Contact meeting is calmer but still scripted.
If the hack stalls when Pike enters the exclusive booth, you are likely too far from the window line. Move closer to the glass through the staff corridor entrance and the progress bar resumes. Learn more about how the Joshua Pike investigation works for more detail on the hacking sequence.
Third Encounter During the Contact Negotiation
The Woman in Red interrupts Bond one more time while he is speaking with Pike’s contact. At this point, just continue the conversation with the contact. The interruption is scripted and does not change the outcome either way, though if you chose Play Along earlier she may be more heated about the situation.
The Contact Negotiation – All Dialogue Choices and Outcomes
Pike’s contact is the woman dressed in black who Bond meets in the back room behind the cloakroom. The goal is to get her to call her handler. This is the most structured dialogue sequence in A Night Out and where player choices feel most meaningful — though the overall story result is the same regardless of what you pick.
Recommended Dialogue Path
The following sequence is the most direct way to convince the Contact to make the call:

- The Price Is Up – Bond demands a renegotiation of the deal terms. This puts pressure on the Contact and signals that Bond is not simply playing along.
- Pressure (or Reason) – Doubling down on the leverage, or appealing to reason. Both options appear depending on your earlier choices and both work — multiple walkthroughs report using either successfully.
- Talk to Woman in Red – The scripted interruption happens here. Acknowledge it briefly before returning to the Contact.
- Talk to Contact – Re-engage the conversation.
- Talk to Contact – Continue pressing.
- Convince – This is the final and most important choice. Selecting Convince at the end is what triggers the Contact to call her handler and advances the mission.

Does It Matter Which Options You Pick Earlier in the Conversation?
The earlier dialogue choices affect the tone of the conversation but not the mission result. What does matter is selecting Convince at the end. That single option is what actually moves the mission forward. The Contact will call her handler only after you choose Convince, so do not skip it or rush through the final dialogue prompt.
This is similar to how the Time to Die dialogue choices work, where most options are flexible but one specific action is required to avoid failure.
Getting Rid of Joshua Pike
Before you reach the Contact negotiation, you need to neutralise Pike first. After completing the phone hack, Cressida tells Bond that Pike is meeting his buyer at the club and Bond needs to impersonate him. Two trap locations are offered, but the men’s restroom is the most direct choice.
Choosing the Trap Location
The game gives you two options for where to set the trap. The men’s restroom is the more straightforward choice. Enter the toilet area to set it as the trap location and trigger the lure objective.
Luring Pike
Head back to the dance floor and find Pike. Speak with him and convince him to follow you. Lead him to the restroom and when the prompt appears, choose Sabotage to deal with him — Bond locks the stall so Pike cannot get out. After this, follow Cressida to the ground floor to find the Contact. If you want tips on when to bluff, lure, or take down targets, that guide explains the different approaches across the whole game.
Extraction Fight and Mission End
After the Contact makes the call, head toward the extraction point. The jealous boyfriend returns one final time — but now he has brought his friends. Bond and Monroe fight the whole group in a co-op brawl at the exit. Use the same parry-and-counter approach to finish off every enemy. If you need a refresher on the combat system, the how to parry in 007 First Light guide covers the basics.
Once all enemies are down, A Night Out ends and Chapter 7, A Matter of Considerable Delicacy, begins immediately. Bond reports back to Q and picks up new gadgets for the next assignment. Separately, Greenway receives a call from M to return to headquarters to discuss a situation involving the Outpost Delicacy — which sets up Chapter 8, All the Time in the World.
No dialogue choice during A Night Out changes how this ending plays out. The extraction fight is scripted and mission completion is guaranteed as long as you selected Convince during the Contact conversation.
A Night Out Challenges
A Night Out has a set of optional challenges tied to the mission. These are separate from the dialogue choices and involve specific in-mission actions rather than conversation decisions. If you want to complete the mission at 100%, check the full missions, challenges, and collectibles list to see what is required.
There are also collectibles in this chapter, including playing cards, mementos, and legacy items worth hunting down on your playthrough.
Do Any Dialogue Choices in A Night Out Actually Matter?
Honestly, not significantly. The Woman in Red encounters are cosmetic. The Play Along versus Turn Her Down choice during the phone hack changes a few lines of dialogue and affects her mood during the Contact meeting, but the mission structure stays identical. The Contact negotiation has some flexibility in tone but only the final Convince prompt makes a mechanical difference. The mission cannot be failed through dialogue alone as long as you do not let any timed prompts expire without a selection.
This is intentional design. IO Interactive uses dialogue in 007 First Light to make Bond feel like a spy who adapts, not as a branching narrative with wildly different endings. Think of the choices as flavour. The story moves forward either way. This is also true in the stall or provoke Damien decision later in the game, where the tension is real but the outcome is locked.
