TL;DR
- There are 9 bounties in Hernand. Completing all 9 alive earns a combined 118 Silver total plus Hernandian Contribution XP and a Mask from Jeffrey’s quest.
- Bounty posters unlock in Chapter 2. Most posters are in Hernand City. Haldin’s poster only appears after liberating Vilkom Outpost.
- Warren requires completing The Unreachable Village quest first to access Pororin.
- Simon de Montfort is blocked by a giant named Bismuth early on — wait until Chapter 4 to reach him easily.
- Capture process: Pick up poster → sprint-tackle the target → punch 3 times → restrain → load onto horse → deliver to jail in north Hernand.
- Dead prisoner = half reward. Always deliver alive.
- Never save and reload mid-transport — it resets your position and can lose the prisoner.
- Equip your Mask (from Jeffrey’s bounty) before approaching guarded targets — it helps you get closer without triggering an immediate flee response.
- Two prisoners can be transported at once — carry one, load the other onto the horse saddle.
Bounty hunting is one of the best early-game Silver sources in Crimson Desert. Nine outlaws are scattered across Hernand, each with their own quirk — some hide behind locked doors, some only appear at certain times of day, some are surrounded by gangs, and one is disguised as a soldier. This guide covers every bounty in the region, where to find each target, exactly how to capture them, and what you get for delivering them alive.

How the Hernand Bounty System Works
Bounty posters appear as purple scroll icons on your minimap, pinned to notice boards, lampposts, and message stakes around Hernand City and the surrounding region. They become available once you reach Chapter 2: Golden Greed. The first bounty, Jeffrey, is tied to a tutorial quest in north Hernand that introduces the system — completing it also rewards a Mask item.
Step-by-Step Capture Process
- Pick up the poster and read it by holding CTRL (PC) / LB / L1 (controller). This marks the target’s location on your world map and adds the quest to your journal.
- Travel to the marked area. The target may be moving, so watch your minimap for the bounty icon when you get close.
- Clear any guards or gang members first before approaching the target. If nearby enemies are still active when you tackle the outlaw, the tie-up animation can be interrupted and the target may flee.
- Sprint-tackle the target when they’re isolated. Most targets will panic and run the moment they spot you — get within range and tackle immediately.
- Punch them 3 times. This beats a confession out of them. Evidence like a letter or document usually drops into your inventory at this point.
- Restrain them when the prompt appears. Kliff ties their hands and lifts them over his shoulder.
- Load onto your horse. Carry the prisoner to your horse — a prompt lets you place them across the saddle. Your movement speed while carrying is severely reduced, so use the horse for all but the last stretch.
- Deliver to the jail in north Hernand. Turn in the prisoner at the constabulary — located outside the city to the left of the Plaza exit — to collect your Silver and Contribution reward.
Transport Rules That Cost Half Your Reward
- Dead prisoner = half Silver, no Contribution. Always deliver alive. Don’t punch more than 3 times during capture, and keep enemies away during transport.
- Avoid saving and reloading mid-transport. Doing so resets your position and can cause the prisoner to disappear, forcing you to find and capture the target again.
- Don’t drop them in water. Rivers and lakes can kill prisoners during transport. Stick to roads and high ground.
- Avoid enemy-heavy routes. If your horse takes too much damage or bucks, both Kliff and the prisoner fall. Steer clear of bandit camps and hostile wildlife on the road back.
- Dismount for impassable terrain. On rocky or narrow sections, dismount, carry the prisoner on foot, then summon your horse again when you reach a rideable path.
- You can transport two prisoners at once — carry one over your shoulder and load the other onto your horse’s saddle. Very efficient for targets who are near each other.
All 9 Hernand Bounties — Locations and Tips
1. Jeffrey — 1 Silver + Mask | West of Hillside Manor
Location: Jeffrey roams just west of Hillside Manor in the Hernand area, active during daytime. He is the tutorial bounty — a north Hernand City quest directs you to him when you first unlock the system.
Reward: 1 Silver, +100 Hernandian Contribution XP, and a Mask item.
How to capture: Jeffrey is the easiest bounty in the region. He has no guards and is very easy to find during the day. Sprint-tackle him, punch 3 times, restrain. The Mask you receive is especially valuable — wearing it while approaching other bounty targets lets you get closer before they panic and run. It also unlocks the stealing system if you haven’t already accessed it. See our full pickpocketing guide for how to use the Mask effectively.
2. Billy — 2 Silver | Near Rhett’s Shop, Hernand City (Evening Only)

Location: Billy is found near Rhett’s Shop inside Hernand City. He is a pickpocket and is usually in the middle of working when you find him. He only appears in the evening — if you arrive during the day, you’ll need to wait until nightfall.
Reward: 2 Silver, +100 Hernandian Contribution XP.
How to capture: No guards — Billy is a simple chase-and-tackle. If you arrive during the day and need to pass time, see our guide on how to change the time of day. Once Billy spawns, tackle, punch 3 times, restrain, and deliver to north Hernand jail. See our Rhett’s Request guide if you’re in the area for more quests.
3. Bianca — 5 Silver | Inside the Church of Hernand (Late Afternoon)

Location: Bianca is hidden inside a locked section connected to the Church of Hernand. Enter the church, head right, and take the stairs down into the locked lower area. She appears in the late afternoon.
Reward: 5 Silver, Hernandian Contribution XP.
How to capture: The church section requires some navigation — you need to reach the lower area by taking the stairs right of the church entrance. The timing requirement means if you arrive early, wait until late afternoon for Bianca to spawn. Once inside, tackle and restrain as normal. Our dedicated Bianca bounty guide has full step-by-step detail.
4. Blix — 15 Silver | Below Unicorn Cliff Crevice

Location: Blix is located below a crevice near Unicorn Cliff, surrounded by a group of gang enemies. Dropping straight into the crevice puts you directly in danger from his group.
Reward: 15 Silver, +200 House Celeste Contribution XP.
How to capture: Do not drop into the crevice immediately. Stand at the top and use a bow to shoot one gang member at a time, luring them up and away from Blix individually. Clear as many guards as possible before going down. Blix is a capable fighter with backup — engaging him while gang members are still active will almost certainly let him flee into the wilderness and despawn. Equip your Mask before approaching. Once his escorts are cleared, drop down, fight or tackle Blix, punch 3 times, and restrain. The long ride back to north Hernand from Unicorn Cliff is the main time cost here. See our full Blix bounty guide for the detailed approach.
5. Alessio — 12 Silver | Near Trembling Gorge, Greenfield Highlands

Location: Alessio is found near Trembling Gorge in the Greenfield Highlands (also described as the Ironwood Bandit Camp area), standing with a group of bandits beside a broken wagon.
Reward: 12 Silver, +300 House Celeste Contribution XP.
How to capture: Alessio is a combat bounty with a health bar — unlike most targets, you must actually deplete his health before the tie-up prompt appears. The bandits around him will join the fight, so clear the camp first before engaging Alessio directly. If you charge in with everyone still active, the chaos will give him time to flee. Once isolated, fight him down to low health, then restrain when the prompt appears. He can be delivered dead for half the Silver (6 Silver) if needed, but always try for the alive delivery for full reward and Contribution. Our outlaw capture tips cover the combat bounty process in more detail.
6. Salvatore — 15 Silver | Sunset Valley (Southernmost Hernand)

Location: Salvatore is found in Sunset Valley, at the southernmost part of Hernand below the Mountain of Frozen Souls. He hides inside a small bricked shelter in the village, pretending to be sick to avoid attention.
Reward: 15 Silver, +300 House Celeste Contribution XP.
How to capture: Salvatore is the farthest bounty from Hernand jail — the ride back takes several minutes. He has no guards and won’t fight back, making the capture itself trivial. The main challenge is the journey. Watch for Reed Demons hiding along the path south — they’ll ambush you on foot. Stick to your mount and sprint past them if possible. Once in Sunset Valley, look for the bounty icon on your minimap. Tackle, punch 3 times, restrain, then begin the long ride north. Consider pairing this run with Simon de Montfort if both are available — Simon is also in the southern area. A legendary horse with higher speed and stamina cuts the travel time significantly on this bounty.
7. Simon de Montfort — 8 Silver | Far Southwest Hernand (Near a Beehive)

Location: Simon is located far southwest of Hernand near a beehive, in the remote western highlands beyond Scholastone Institute.
Reward: 8 Silver, Hernandian Contribution XP.
How to capture: Simon is the most awkward bounty in the region — not because he’s dangerous, but because the route is blocked early in the game. A giant named Bismuth blocks the main path to his location before Chapter 4. You have two options:
- Recommended: Ignore Simon’s poster until you reach Chapter 4, which naturally opens the main trail past the Scholastone Institute. This makes the journey trivial.
- Early game (painful): Find Senia in the southwest Hernand Highlands, climb over significant rocky terrain west to bypass Bismuth, catch Simon, then carefully slide down the cliffs into the Witchwoods to find a path back to the city. Not recommended unless you specifically need the Silver before Chapter 4.
Simon has no guards and won’t fight. Once you reach him, the capture is straightforward. Our Sigrid bounty guide has similar terrain navigation tips for the southern Hernand area.
8. Warren — 25 Silver | Pororin (Prerequisite Required)

Location: Warren is located in Pororin, in the southern part of the Deepwoods. You cannot reach him without first unlocking access to the Pororin area.
Reward: 25 Silver, Hernandian Contribution XP.
How to capture: Warren is the highest-paying accessible bounty, but he requires completing The Unreachable Village quest before you can enter Pororin. Without completing it, the Shai residents of the village will tranquilize you and knock you out before you can reach Warren. Complete the prerequisite quest first — see our Unreachable Village quest guide — then return to Pororin for Warren. Once inside, he’s a standard tackle-and-restrain capture with no guards. Our dedicated Warren outlaw bounty guide covers the full details.
9. Haldin — 30 Silver | Vilkom Outpost (Liberate First)

Location: Haldin is disguised as a Hernand Guard at Vilkom Outpost, northwest of the Hills of No Return. His bounty poster does not appear anywhere in the world until you liberate the Vilkom Outpost from the Wolf Trackers occupying it. He is effectively the last bounty available in Hernand.
Reward: 30 Silver, Hernandian Contribution XP — the highest Silver payout of all nine bounties.
How to capture: First, clear Vilkom Outpost of the Wolf Tracker bandits. The outpost is heavily guarded with berserker enemies and rifle shooters. Lure enemies out in small groups rather than fighting everyone at once, and use any nearby Hernand guard patrols to assist with the fight.
After liberating the outpost, Haldin’s bounty poster appears — look for it along the path near Bloomwood Ranch above the Nas River marker. Once you have the poster, return to the now-Hernand-controlled Vilkom Outpost and look for a suspicious dwarf disguised among the soldiers. He’ll drop a pack and bolt when you get close — tackle immediately. If you can’t find Haldin inside the outpost, check outside the walls — he sometimes roams slightly outside and the minimap icon will guide you. Capture, restrain, and deliver for the full 30 Silver. Full step-by-step detail is in our Haldin bounty guide.
All Hernand Bounties — Reward Summary
- Jeffrey: 1 Silver + Mask + 100 Contribution XP
- Billy: 2 Silver + 100 Contribution XP
- Bianca: 5 Silver + Contribution XP
- Blix: 15 Silver + 200 House Celeste Contribution XP
- Alessio: 12 Silver + 300 House Celeste Contribution XP
- Salvatore: 15 Silver + 300 House Celeste Contribution XP
- Simon de Montfort: 8 Silver + Contribution XP
- Warren: 25 Silver + Contribution XP
- Haldin: 30 Silver + Contribution XP
- Combined total (all alive): 113 Silver + Mask + all Contribution bonuses
The Hernandian Contribution XP from these bounties stacks with the Contribution you earn from quests, deliveries, and other faction activities. See our guide on gaining trust with merchants and trade agreements for how to use your Contribution most effectively.
Efficient Bounty Hunting Order
This order minimises travel time and avoids the locked-access bounties before they’re reachable:
- Jeffrey (Hillside Manor area — tutorial, grab your Mask first)
- Billy (Rhett’s Shop — wait for evening if needed)
- Bianca (Church of Hernand — wait for late afternoon)
- Blix (Unicorn Cliff — bow-pull the guards first)
- Alessio (Trembling Gorge — clear camp, then fight him down)
- Salvatore (Sunset Valley — longest ride, pair with Simon if both unlocked)
- Simon de Montfort (far southwest — skip until Chapter 4)
- Warren (Pororin — complete Unreachable Village quest first)
- Haldin (Vilkom Outpost — liberate the outpost first, then collect the poster)
You can transport two prisoners simultaneously — carry one and load the other on your horse’s saddle. When Alessio and Salvatore are both available, plan a southern loop that captures both in sequence and delivers them together. Similarly, Blix and Bianca are both relatively close to Hernand City and can be paired efficiently.
Tips for All Hernand Bounties
- Always wear your Mask when approaching guarded targets. The Mask from Jeffrey’s bounty helps you get closer to gang-protected outlaws like Blix and Alessio before they trigger their flee response. Equip it in your costume slot before approaching any bounty surrounded by enemies.
- Clear escorts before the tackle. Most failures come from tackling the outlaw while gang members are still active — the restrain animation gets interrupted, the target flees, and they may despawn. Wipe the area clean first.
- Use your bow for guarded bounties. For Blix especially, pulling guards away one at a time with ranged shots is far safer than charging in melee. See our guide on bow mechanics and challenges if you’re not comfortable with ranged combat.
- Plan your return route before loading the prisoner. High-enemy paths between the capture location and Hernand jail are your biggest transport risk. Identify a safe route before you start the ride back — avoid bandit camps, wolf packs, and open hostile areas.
- Get a legendary horse for the longer bounties. Salvatore’s location in Sunset Valley is a long ride with a slow prisoner on your back. A faster mount cuts this time significantly. See our All Legendary Horses guide for the best mounts available in Hernand.
- Avoid crimes during transport. Triggering the Wanted System while carrying a bound prisoner forces you to pay a fine or serve jail time before turning in the bounty. See our guide on how to remove your own bounty if this happens unexpectedly.
- Do not save and reload mid-transport. This is the most common mistake players make. The game can reset your position and lose the prisoner when you reload during transport. Complete the delivery in one uninterrupted session.
What These Bounties Unlock Beyond Silver
Completing the nine Hernand bounties is required for the full Hernand faction questline. Most critically, completing all nine outlaw bounties is a prerequisite for unlocking the final sub-quests in the Hernandian Parish of Solumen questline — which leads to the Sizlek the Insatiable boss fight and the Lightningblade of Greed weapon and Storm Fang Abyss Gear. See our Lightningblade and Storm Fang guide for that full questline. The Haldin bounty is specifically noted as the 9th outlaw that must be cleared — if you’re stuck at 8/9, clearing Vilkom Outpost and returning to spawn Haldin’s poster is the fix.
The Silver itself is directly useful early — 118 Silver across all nine bounties can fund gear refinements, buy items from the Equipment Shop, or contribute toward the gold bar investment system at the Hernand bank. Combine bounty Silver with other fast Silver farming methods for the most efficient early-game economy.

Final Thoughts
All nine Hernand bounties are completable across normal story progression — with the obvious exceptions of Simon (wait for Chapter 4), Warren (complete The Unreachable Village), and Haldin (liberate Vilkom Outpost). The other six are accessible from Chapter 2 onward with no special prerequisites beyond having the posters.
Patience is the key skill. Clear escorts before tackling, wear the Mask, plan a safe transport route, and never save mid-delivery. Delivered alive, every single bounty pays out more than its dead value — and the Contribution XP stacks into meaningful faction benefits over time. Run through them in the order above, and you’ll have all 118 Silver plus the Mask and a solid Contribution standing in Hernand before you leave the region.
