TL;DR
- The Halssius Conflux is an Ancient Ruins puzzle southeast of St. Halssius’ House of Healing
- You need two skills to solve it: Nature’s Grasp (unlocked after the Reunion quest) and Stab
- Clear the two broken columns first, then rotate the sundial three times: Left to coin → Right to scale → Right to horse
- Wait for the tile to glow after each rotation to confirm it is correct
- Reward: Abyss Cresset waypoint unlocked + one Abyss Artifact
The Halssius Conflux is one of the first Ancient Ruins puzzles you will likely stumble into in Crimson Desert. It sits in a grove of statues just southeast of St. Halssius’ House of Healing and shows up on your map as a Mysterious Energy location — a white icon with a question mark.
The puzzle looks more complex than it actually is. At its core, you are just rotating a giant sundial to align with three symbols that glowing light points you toward — in the right order. The tricky parts are clearing the debris first and knowing exactly when to stop rotating.
Here is the complete solution.
Halssius Conflux Location
The Halssius Conflux is located in the Serkis Estate region, directly southeast of St. Halssius’ House of Healing in eastern Hernand.

To reach it, either:
- Ride your horse east from Hernand toward the House of Healing, then continue southeast into the ruins
- Teleport to the southern Abyss Nexus and ride north — the ruins are large and easy to spot once you are close
Look for a clearing with a large central statue holding a long spear pointed toward the ground, surrounded by several outer statues. That is the Conflux.
For help getting to the House of Healing itself first, see our guide on how to enter Halssius’ House of Healing in Crimson Desert.
Skills Required Before You Start
You need two skills to solve this puzzle. Both are unlocked through the Main Quest:

Nature’s Grasp — unlocked after completing the Reunion main story quest. This lets you grab and throw heavy objects. You will need it to clear the broken stone columns blocking the sundial.
Stab — unlocked earlier in the main quest progression. This lets you drive your sword into the black post attached to the sundial, which is how you rotate the floor grid.
If you do not have both of these yet, continue through the main quest until you unlock them. Trying to solve this puzzle without Nature’s Grasp first means the columns will be immovable.
For help with the Reunion quest, see our Crimson Desert Reunion quest walkthrough.
Step-by-Step Solution
Step 1 — Clear the First Broken Column
Walk onto the platform around the central statue. You will see a broken stone column lying on top of the sundial area, blocking it from rotating freely.
Use Nature’s Grasp (Triangle + Circle / Y + B / F + C on PC) to pick up the column. Then toss it off the platform — throw it outward, away from the sundial. It does not matter where it lands, just get it clear of the mechanism.
Step 2 — Clear the Second Broken Column
There is a second broken column nearby doing the same thing. Repeat the process — use Nature’s Grasp to lift it and throw it clear.
Once both columns are removed, the sundial mechanism is fully accessible.

Step 3 — First Rotation (Left → Golden Coin Tile)
Walk up to the black post attached to the central statue. Use your Stab skill (Shift + Right Click on PC / RB + Triangle on PlayStation / RB + Y on Xbox) to drive your sword into the post.
Now rotate the sundial to the left. Move it slowly — the tile markings on the floor will pass under the top indicator as you spin.
Stop when the top space of the sundial aligns with the golden coin tile on the ground.
Pull your sword out and wait. If you aligned correctly, the coin tile will glow. That is your confirmation. If nothing lights up, you are not quite aligned — stab the post again and adjust.
Step 4 — Second Rotation (Right → Scale Tile)
The central statue’s spear will now cast a beam of golden light toward one of the outer statues. Follow the light to see which statue is being highlighted — it will be holding scales.
Stab the post again and rotate the sundial to the right this time.
Stop when the top space aligns with the scale tile on the ground.
Wait for the scale tile to glow to confirm the alignment.

Step 5 — Third Rotation (Right → Horse Icon)
Look again at where the statue’s golden spear light is now pointing. It will illuminate a different outer statue — one depicting a horse.
Stab the post one final time and continue rotating to the right.
Stop when the top space aligns with the horse icon on the ground.
When the horse tile glows, all three alignments are complete. The central statue will activate and the puzzle is solved.

Rotation Summary (Quick Reference)
| Step | Direction | Align With |
|---|---|---|
| First | Rotate Left | Golden Coin tile |
| Second | Rotate Right | Scale tile |
| Third | Rotate Right | Horse icon |
Stamina Tip
You can hold down the rotation input while stabbing the post to spin the sundial faster by using your Stamina. This is useful if you overshoot and need to make up ground.
However, once your Stamina runs out, Kliff slows back to normal speed. If possible, eat a stamina-restoring meal before you start so you can spin continuously without interruption. Stopping mid-rotation can cause the sundial to partially reset.

What You Get for Solving It
Completing the Halssius Conflux puzzle gives you two things:
1. Abyss Cresset of Halssius Conflux — this becomes a permanent fast travel waypoint on your map. It is one of the most useful rewards from any Mysterious Energy location in the Hernand region, given how often you will pass through this area.
2. Abyss Artifact — a consumable upgrade material that can be used to:
- Unlock a new skill on your skill tree
- Enhance an existing skill to increase its effectiveness
- Refine your equipment to push it to higher power levels
Abyss Artifacts are scarce early in the game, so getting one here before you reach the first major bosses gives you a meaningful head start. It is worth solving this puzzle as soon as you have both required skills.

What Are Mysterious Energy Locations?
The Halssius Conflux is labeled on your map as a Mysterious Energy — the white icon with a question mark. These locations appear all across Pywel and are always worth investigating.
Mysterious Energy locations fall into two categories:
- Ancient Ruins — puzzles that reward Abyss Artifacts and unlock Abyss Cresset waypoints
- Secret Places — hidden areas with loot, lore, or unique encounters
Solving Ancient Ruins is one of the fastest ways to build power in the early and mid game. Each one gives you an Abyss Artifact and a permanent new teleport point.

Troubleshooting
The tiles are not glowing after I rotate the sundial. You are not quite aligned. The tile only glows when the alignment is exact — not close. Stab the post again and nudge the sundial slightly until the glow triggers.
I cannot pick up the columns. You do not have Nature’s Grasp yet. This skill is locked behind the Reunion main story quest. Complete that first and come back.
The sundial moved back after I stopped rotating. This can happen if you release mid-rotation on a slope or uneven ground. Move to flat ground near the post before stabbing it, and try to complete the rotation in one motion. Eating a stamina meal beforehand helps you spin without interruption.
I cannot find the post to stab. The black post is attached to the base of the central statue — it is a small, dark pillar sticking up from the ground at the statue’s feet. Face the statue directly and look down slightly.
