How to Get the Tiger Mount in Crimson Desert

TL;DR

• The Tiger mount was added in Patch 1.06.00 as a tameable special mount.

How to get the Tiger mount in Crimson Desert is one of the most exciting questions in the game since Patch 1.06.00 — you can now permanently tame a tiger and ride it as a combat-capable special mount. The Tiger is rare, found at only one location, and has specific rules around the Legendary White Tiger in the same area. What Is the Tiger Mount?

The Tiger is a Special Mount introduced in Patch 1.06.00. Unlike horses and other travel mounts, the Tiger is an active combat companion — when you dismount, it does not just stand still. It will independently move toward and attack nearby enemies, fighting alongside you. It has genuine combat stats and can take damage, but cannot be permanently lost — if defeated, it respawns after approximately 5 minutes of real time.

Base stats at Level 1: 450 HP, 100 Attack, 45 Evade. The 45 Evade rating is among the highest for predator mounts. Tigers also come in multiple coat color variations (classic orange, and other morphs) — these are purely cosmetic and do not affect stats. The Legendary White Tiger and White Lion cannot be tamed; those encounters are boss fights only.

Tiger Mount Location — Giant’s Yard Watchtower Rainforest

There is one confirmed spawn location for tameable tigers in Crimson Desert: north of Beardtree Gorge in the Rainforest region, near the unnamed lake beside Giant’s Yard Watchtower.

To navigate there:

• The broader landmark is the Peninsula South of the Crimson Desert region.
• Head north past Delesyia, northeast of the Demeniss area, southwest of Red River.
• The location is also described by players as slightly above the legendary ore farming island and east of Demeniss on the map.
• Note: Horses cannot traverse the Rainforest easily — travel on foot for the final approach.

Once you reach the area, you will find a group of regular orange tigers roaming nearby, alongside the Legendary White Tiger at the same site. The regular tigers are the ones you can tame. Critical Warning — Tame Before Killing the White Tiger

This is the most important thing to know before you go. The regular orange tigers that spawn here are tied to the Legendary White Tiger in the same area.

• In the original Patch 1.06.00, killing the White Tiger caused the regular tigers to stop respawning entirely — locking players out of the mount permanently on that save.
• Patch 1.07.00 fixed this issue. Tigers now respawn at the site even after the White Tiger has been killed. If you are playing on a current patched version, the respawn bug should no longer affect you.
• However, to be safe and avoid any lingering edge cases: tame your regular tiger first, then deal with the White Tiger afterward.

If you are on an unpatched version or have already killed the White Tiger without taming a regular tiger, reload a save from before that fight. There is no other workaround confirmed in community testing outside of saves and the Patch 1.07.00 fix.

What to Bring — Meat Preparation

Before heading to the Rainforest, buy meat from the Butcher in Hernand City. Any type of raw meat works — the Tiger is a strict carnivore, so vegetables, grains, and fruit give no Trust.

Feeding values per piece:

• Lean Meat — +40 Trust per feeding
• Fine Meat — approximately +40 Trust per feeding
• Tough Meat — approximately +40 Trust per feeding
• You need to reach 100 Trust total, which means roughly 3 pieces of Lean or Fine Meat.

Bring at least 5–6 pieces to be safe. If you fall off the tiger mid-feeding or it takes an extra hit, you may need to remount and feed again. Running out of meat means starting the process over.

How to Tame the Tiger — Step by Step

1. Clear the area first. Liberate the Giant’s Yard Watchtower outpost before taming if enemies are present. Enemy soldiers attacking you while you are mounted on the tiger can disrupt the process.
2. Leave at least one regular orange tiger alive. If you plan to fight the Legendary White Tiger, do it first — but do not kill all the regular tigers in the process. Single out the tiger you want to tame and focus your attention there.
3. Weaken the regular tiger with your weapons. Deal enough damage to reduce its health significantly but do not kill it. Use a low-damage weapon or switch to unarmed attacks to avoid accidentally finishing it off.
4. Wait for the Ride prompt. When the tiger is sufficiently damaged, it will be stunned and a “Ride” prompt appears above it. Press the interact button to mount the tiger.
5. Feed it while mounted. Open your inventory, select a piece of raw meat, and choose the Feed option. Each piece of Lean Meat adds 40 Trust. Feed until the Trust bar reaches 100.
6. Take In the tiger. Once Trust hits 100, the “Take In” option appears on screen. Press Triangle (PS5) / Y (Xbox) to permanently register the Tiger as your special mount.

What the Tiger Does as a Mount

The Tiger is not just a reskin of a regular horse. It has genuinely different behavior:

• Combat mount. When you dismount the Tiger near enemies, it automatically attacks them on its own. It runs at targets, bites, and harasses them during fights — a similar behavior to a pet dog with the Sigil of Valor equipped (see our guide on how to make pets attack enemies), but the Tiger is a full mount rather than a pocket companion.
• Not immortal. Unlike regular pets, the Tiger has a health pool (450 HP at base) and can be downed by large groups of enemies. Against multiple strong opponents, it will fall fairly quickly — it is most effective against smaller groups or single targets.
• 5-minute respawn. If your Tiger mount is defeated in combat, it respawns after approximately 5 minutes of real time. You will not lose it permanently.
• Attack on R2/RT. While mounted on the Tiger, you can trigger its attack using R2 (PS5) / RT (Xbox).
• Speed and traversal. The Tiger has solid traversal speed and handles the Rainforest terrain better than horses, though it is not the fastest mount in the game. For pure speed and stamina, the best horses and legendary mounts still outperform it.

Tiger vs Legendary Mounts — Should You Get One?

The Tiger is worth getting even if you already have strong horses. Its combat ally behavior is unique among regular special mounts, and it is one of the most visually striking things you can ride in Crimson Desert. It does not replace dedicated legendary mounts for top-tier performance, but it fills a completely different role — a mount that actively fights alongside you.

Common Issues and Fixes

No tigers are spawning at the location. If you are on Patch 1.07.00 or later, this should be fixed. Try reloading the zone by fast traveling away and returning. If tigers still do not spawn, advance the in-game time and return.

The tiger keeps dying before I can mount it. Switch to your weakest weapon or unarmed attacks. The tiger needs to be stunned, not killed. Hit it enough to drop it into a downed state, then immediately press the Ride prompt.

The Take In prompt is not appearing at 100 Trust. Make sure you are feeding the regular orange tiger — not the Legendary White Tiger. The White Tiger cannot be tamed and the Take In option will never appear on it.

I ran out of meat mid-feeding. The tiger will get up again. You will need to re-weaken it and remount. Always carry extra meat beyond the minimum 3 pieces.

Other enemies are interrupting the taming. Liberate the Giant’s Yard Watchtower area first before attempting the tame. Clearing enemies from the camp makes the whole process significantly smoother.
