All Legendary Mounts in Crimson Desert & Where to Get Them

There are nine legendary mounts in Crimson Desert in total — three tameable horses, five beast mounts unlocked through the Sigil of Solidarity system, and the Blackstar Dragon earned through the main story. Each one has a different location, different unlock method, and different stats. This guide covers every single legendary mount, where to find them, how to get them, and what makes each one worth chasing.

How Legendary Mounts Work in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert splits its mount roster into three categories. Legendary horses are tamed through the standard horse-taming minigame, but the process is significantly harder than with regular wild horses — they buck more aggressively and drain your stamina faster. You need at least Level 6 Stamina before attempting any of them.

Beast mounts — the wolf, bear, deer, ibex, and warthog — all share the same unlock process. You hunt the legendary creature, kill it, skin the carcass for a unique trophy item, then take that item to any Witch. At the Witch, select Craft Abyss Gear, navigate to Special Items, and craft the Sigil of Solidarity for that specific animal. Consume the Sigil from your inventory to permanently register the mount. You can then summon it from your character wheel at any time.

The Blackstar Dragon is the exception — it unlocks automatically through story progression and requires no hunting.

Only the three legendary horses can be upgraded with Bond Levels and equipped with horse gear (saddle, stirrups, champron, and horseshoes). Beast mounts cannot be levelled up or upgraded.

Before hunting, get Leebur’s Soul — it drops from Black Fang during the Legendary Wolf questline in Hernand and reveals the locations of all legendary animals on your map as soon as you use it.

The Three Legendary Horses

Royler — Best Speed Horse

Royler is the fastest legendary horse in Crimson Desert and the one most players chase first. It has the highest Stamina of any horse, meaning it can sprint for longer distances without stopping. It also learns Consecutive Instant Acceleration, letting you boost twice after drifting — a unique skill that makes it exceptional for covering ground at pace. If exploration and traversal speed matter most to you, Royler is the clear pick.

Location: Found in Pailune, directly south of the “P” in “PAILUNE” on your map, near the landmark Snowgrass Hearth and a small frozen lake. Royler is a fully white horse, easy to spot among the group of regular horses in the area. The Silver Wolf Mountains have cold temperatures, so equip a cold-resistance cape before heading there — the frost effect drains your Stamina during the taming minigame, which already demands a lot.

Rokade — Best Tank Horse

Rokade is the war horse. It has the highest health of any legendary horse — nearly double Royler’s — making it the best choice for players who ride into enemy camps and need a mount that can take punishment without going down. Its speed and stamina are lower than Royler’s, so it is not the best for fast exploration, but for mounted combat and survivability it is the top option.

Location: Found in the Steel Mountains area of Hernand, near the lake west of the Spire of Insight at Grace Estate. Rokade is a jet-black horse, easy to identify among the other horses grazing in the area. The Steel Mountains have a temperate climate with no environmental debuffs — no frost or heat penalties — making this the easiest of the three legendary horses to tame from a stamina management perspective.

Camora — Best Combat Horse

Camora is the combat specialist. It has the highest Attack and Defence stats among all three legendary horses, making it the best pick if you actively use mounted combat skills — kicking, charging, and ramming enemies from horseback. It is a red and brown horse with a striking appearance.

Location: Found in the Redtree Forest in the Tashkalp region, far southeast of the map near the Red River. Specifically, look for a cavern meadow filled with flowers, east of the Sanctum of Renunciation and west of the Red River. This is a hot zone — equip fire-resistance gear before you go, as the heat will accelerate your Stamina drain during taming. If this part of the map is still fogged over, ring the bell in Tommaso to trigger the Toll of Pywel quest and clear the fog first.

The Five Beast Mounts

All five beast mounts follow the same unlock method: kill the creature, skin it for a trophy, take it to any Witch, craft the Sigil of Solidarity, then consume it from your inventory. None of them can be upgraded or equipped with gear. They can all be summoned and dismissed at any time from your character wheel.

Silver Fang — Best Combat Mount

Silver Fang is the most unique mount in the game. It is the only mount with an independent combat AI — when summoned, it fights alongside you on its own. You can also press R2 / RT while riding to command it to attack. It keeps fighting even after you dismount, and it will continue engaging enemies while you handle other targets. No other legendary mount does this.

Its stats are modest compared to horses — 450 HP, 100 Stamina, 100 Attack, 45 Defence — and it is slower than any horse with significantly less stamina. But its value is purely in the combat companion role, not traversal speed.

Location: Silver Fang is found at Howling Hollow cave, north of The Sage’s Peak in Hernand. However, it will not spawn until you first defeat Black Fang. To unlock the path to Silver Fang, complete the Hernand faction quests — specifically the House Celeste side quests, starting with Silence from Afar. This leads to the Legendary Wolf questline and then the Black Fang boss fight. After defeating Black Fang, use Leebur’s Soul to pin all legendary animals on your map, then head to Howling Hollow. After defeating Black Fang, also return to the Hernand North Gate to complete the follow-up quest before heading to Howling Hollow — skipping this step means Silver Fang will not spawn. Be aware that the hollow is full of purple plants that drain your health, so bring poison-resistant gear or plenty of healing items.

White Bear — Best Tank Beast Mount

The White Bear is the most durable of the five beast mounts. It has high HP and strong attacks that can stun enemies, making it excellent for clearing enemy camps while mounted. It is the beast-mount equivalent of Rokade — built for combat survivability rather than speed.

Location: Found in the far northwest of Pailune, near Five Finger Mountain and the White Wastes Sanctuary. This area is near the Abyss Nexus in the northwest. Defeat the White Bear, skin it for the White Bear Claw, then take it to any Witch to craft the Sigil of Solidarity (White Bear).

Snowwhite Deer — Best Stamina Beast Mount

The Snowwhite Deer has the highest Stamina of any beast mount — comparable to Royler the horse — and a unique Charge ability triggered by holding R2 / RT. The charge burns Stamina to accelerate and lets you ram through smaller enemies with its antlers. Its stats are 400 HP, 300 Stamina, 25 Attack, and 50 Defence.

It is the fastest beast mount for distance coverage, though legendary horses are still faster overall. The Snowwhite Deer is nimble but will flee on sight — approach carefully.

Location: Roams the Silver Wolf Mountain in Pailune, near the “A” in “PAILUNE” on your map — just west of the Sanctum of Solace. Fast travel to the Sanctum of Solace to get closest. The Snowwhite Deer will run as you approach, and the mountainous terrain makes it hard to chase. Hit it with a fully charged fire arrow from range to stagger it before it can escape. Skin it for the Snowwhite Deer Antlers, then craft the Sigil of Solidarity at any Witch.

Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex — Faction Quest Mount

The Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex is a large horned beast mount found in the Pailune region. Like the Snowwhite Deer it has 400 HP, 300 Stamina, 25 Attack, and 50 Defence — a mirror stat profile. It cannot be upgraded and has no special mount skills.

Location: Found west of the “I” in “Pailune” on the map, in the Wayward Woods. However, the Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex only spawns during The Sports Hunter, a Pailune faction quest found in the Longleaf Tribe tab of faction quests. Complete that quest to trigger its spawn, then hunt, skin, and take the trophy to a Witch for the Sigil of Solidarity (Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex).

Rock Tusk Warthog — Faction Quest Mount

The Rock Tusk Warthog is the heaviest-looking of the beast mounts — a large, tusked warthog found in the southern Crimson Desert region. Like the Ibex, it is tied to a specific faction quest and will not appear otherwise.

Location: Found south in the Crimson Desert, among the Bordig Ruins. The Rock Tusk Warthog only spawns during Master of the Wetlands, a Crimson Desert faction quest under the Lords of Unclaimed Lands tab. During that quest, you track and kill Ravok of the Savage Fangs. Doing so rewards the Rock Tusk Warthog’s Tusk, which you exchange at any Witch for the Sigil of Solidarity (Rock Tusk Warthog). Consume it from your Key Items inventory to register the mount permanently.

The Blackstar Dragon — Story Mount

The Blackstar Dragon is the most iconic mount in Crimson Desert and the only one you can fly. It lets you soar across the entire map at height. Unlike every other legendary mount, you do not need to hunt or tame it — it is given to you automatically through main story progression.

How to get it: Progress to Chapter 11 of the main story and complete the mission Master of a Forgotten Land. This mission involves acquiring the fragment of the Golden Star. After the Golden Star falls, the Witch White Crow appears and grants you control of Blackstar, registering the dragon as your permanent mount. There is nothing else to do — finish Chapter 11 and the dragon is yours.

Tips for Getting Legendary Mounts

• Get Leebur’s Soul first — it reveals every legendary animal location on your map and makes finding them much faster. It drops from Black Fang during the Legendary Wolf questline in Hernand
• Have Level 6 Stamina before taming legendary horses — the minigame drains your stamina far faster than regular horses, and running out mid-tame fails the attempt
• Royler: bring cold resistance gear — the Silver Wolf Mountain frost effect reduces your Stamina during taming
• Camora: bring fire resistance gear — the Tashkalp region heat effect does the same
• Rokade is the easiest horse to tame — the Steel Mountains are temperate with no environmental effects
• Adjust the camera overhead when taming any legendary horse — a top-down perspective makes it much easier to read the horse’s direction and react correctly in the minigame
• Silver Fang will not spawn until you defeat Black Fang AND complete the follow-up quest at Hernand North Gate
• Snowwhite Deer: hit it with a charged fire arrow from range to stagger it before it runs away
• The Ibex and Rock Tusk Warthog are tied to faction quests — progress the Longleaf Tribe and Lords of Unclaimed Lands factions respectively to trigger their spawns
