How to Find and Get Rock Tusk Warthog Mount in Crimson Desert
TL;DR
- The Rock Tusk Warthog is a legendary boss mount unlocked by completing the Master of the Wetlands faction quest
- Head to the Bordig Ruins area southeast of Tashkalp in the Crimson Desert region, west of the Red River
- Defeat all enemies in the area to trigger the quest, then track and defeat Ravok of the Savage Fangs in a two-phase fight
- After the fight you receive the Rock Tusk Warthog Molar — take it to any Witch and craft the Sigil of Solidarity
- Use the Sigil from your inventory to permanently unlock the mount
- The Warthog has a Charge attack usable even from a standstill — great for combat but slower than horses for long travel
The Rock Tusk Warthog is one of the most impressive mounts in Crimson Desert. A massive war boar with enormous tusks, it is built for combat rather than speed. Riding into a group of enemies and triggering a Charge while mounted is one of the most satisfying things you can do in the game.
Getting it requires a two-phase boss fight against a tough ogre named Ravok of the Savage Fangs. The location is tucked into the Crimson Desert region and the boss has a habit of retreating mid-fight, which catches many players off guard. This guide covers the exact location, how to trigger the quest, how to handle both phases of the fight, and how to convert your reward into a permanent mount.
Prerequisites
There are no complex questline requirements for the Rock Tusk Warthog. The main thing you need is access to the Crimson Desert region, which unlocks through natural story progression. You also need to have access to a Witch to craft the Sigil afterward — Elowen at the Witch Woods in Hernand is unlocked after completing the Missing Seal quest in Chapter 5. Any other Witch will also work.
No other faction quests need to be completed beforehand. The Master of the Wetlands quest triggers automatically when you enter the area.

Where to Find Ravok of the Savage Fangs
The boss is located at the Bordig Ruins in the Tashkalp area of the Crimson Desert region. On your map, look southeast of Tashkalp and northwest of the Red River. You are looking for a narrow river that curves into a ring-like shape on the map. Inside that ring you will find three distinct patches of water. The boss encounter triggers in the center area.
The Bordig Camp nearby is heavily guarded by Savage Fangs bandits — some on foot, some riding warthogs. You will know you are in the right place when you see the increased enemy density and swampy wetland terrain around you.

Step 1 — Trigger the Master of the Wetlands Quest
Enter the Bordig Ruins area and defeat all enemies present. Every single enemy in the area needs to be cleared — if even one is missed, the quest activation can be delayed. Work through the area systematically, dealing with the foot soldiers first and then the warthog riders.
Once the area is cleared, the Master of the Wetlands faction quest activates automatically. This is a Lords of the Unclaimed Lands faction quest and it is what spawns Ravok himself. Use your lantern when prompted — it will reveal a yellow light trail guiding you to the boss.
Step 2 — Defeat Ravok (Phase 1)
Ravok of the Savage Fangs is an ogre mounted on the Rock Tusk Warthog. He is easy to identify by his bright red cape. He is armed with a Volcanic Blaster cannon that fires fire projectiles at range. The cannon can knock you back significantly if you get hit, so stay mobile.
The warthog riders in the surrounding area are often more dangerous than Ravok himself because of their ramming and goring charges. Focus on clearing the nearby mounted riders before locking onto Ravok. If you are struggling with the mob density, try luring Ravok across the river — this naturally isolates him from his followers and turns the fight into a much cleaner one-on-one encounter.
A reliable combat pattern for Phase 1 is: Quickstep (double-press dodge) → Stab → Turning Slash whenever Ravok creates distance. The Quickstep into Stab combo closes the gap quickly and keeps the pressure on. For advanced combat tips, see our Crimson Desert advanced combat guide.
Once Ravok’s first health bar is depleted, he retreats. This is not a bug — it is a scripted two-phase hunt.
Step 3 — Track and Defeat Ravok (Phase 2)
After Phase 1, Ravok flees into the surrounding wilderness. Use your lantern to track him down — follow the golden light trail it reveals or look for signs of his path through the area.
Ravok tends to stay nearby rather than running far. Once you find him, engage again using the same tactics as Phase 1. Phase 2 ramps up his aggression so stay alert. The river isolation trick works again here if you need to separate him from any additional enemies that have respawned.
Defeat Ravok in Phase 2 and a cutscene triggers, completing the fight. You will receive the Rock Tusk Warthog Molar as a reward, along with the Volcanic Blaster (a unique weapon for Oongka) and a Giant Brown Sugar Cube consumable that greatly increases horse affinity.
Step 4 — Craft the Sigil of Solidarity
Take the Rock Tusk Warthog Molar to any Witch. Elowen at the Witch Woods in Hernand is the closest and most convenient option after completing the Chapter 5 story. See our guide on how to enter the Wayward Woods Witch Hideout if you need help finding her.
Interact with the Witch and select Craft Abyss Gear. Press R2 on PlayStation or RT on Xbox to navigate to the Special Items tab. The Sigil of Solidarity (Rock Tusk Warthog) will be listed there. The only material required is the Molar itself. Craft it.
Step 5 — Summon Your Warthog
Open your inventory and use the Sigil of Solidarity (Rock Tusk Warthog). This permanently registers the mount to your account — it will never despawn.
To summon it, hold F1 on PC or press D-Pad Up on a controller to open the character and mount selection wheel. Scroll through the mount options where you normally select your horse and choose the Rock Tusk Warthog instead. It is now part of your permanent mount roster alongside any horses and other mounts you have unlocked.
Rock Tusk Warthog Stats and Abilities
The Rock Tusk Warthog is built for combat rather than long-distance travel. It has lower stamina than most horses, so it is not ideal for cross-map runs. What it excels at is mounted combat.
Its standout ability is the Charge attack, which can be triggered even from a standstill. This breaks through enemy shield formations and tramples multiple targets in a single run — one of the best crowd-control tools available on any mount. It also has a Stomp ability for close-quarters impact.
The Warthog also has a single armor slot, similar to the Silver Fang legendary wolf mount, allowing you to equip mount gear for additional passive bonuses like health regeneration and defense. Pick up mount gear from saddlery shops and equip it at any stable. Check our all stable locations guide if you need to find the nearest one.
Boss Fight Tips
Clear the area completely before engaging Ravok. Leaving even one enemy alive can delay the quest trigger. The warthog riders in the camp are also extremely dangerous during the boss fight, so eliminating them before Phase 1 starts saves a lot of trouble.
Lure Ravok across the river. This isolates him from reinforcements and turns a chaotic mob fight into a manageable duel. It works in both phases.
Do not panic when he retreats. The disappearance after Phase 1 is scripted. Use the lantern immediately and follow the golden trail. He does not go far.
Gear up before going. The Bordig camp area is packed with mid-to-late game enemies. Make sure your weapons and armor are reinforced before making the trip. Check our guide on how to upgrade weapons and armor in Crimson Desert if you need to push your stats higher. Invest Abyss Artifacts first. Putting Abyss Artifacts into your Skill Tree before this fight scales your power significantly and makes the encounter much more manageable. See our guide on how to get Abyss Cells in Crimson Desert for farming tips.
