How To Enter The Wayward Woods Witch Hideout In Crimson Desert
When you first reach the Wayward Woods Witch Hideout, the door won’t open. You’ll see a prompt to insert something, and the message: “Something is required to activate it.”
That something is a Witch’s Token — and you need four of them.
You earn one token from each of the four main witches, but only after you’ve cleansed all of their sanctums. There are 15 sanctums in total, split across the four witches:

Complete all of a witch’s sanctums, then return to her location to claim her Witch’s Token.
Once all four tokens are in your inventory, this triggers the Protector of the Abyss Faction Quest, which sends you back to the Wayward Woods Witch Hideout.

Each sanctum is guarded by Antumbra cultists, including boss-level enemies like Antumbra’s Spear, Antumbra’s Sword, and Antumbra’s Staff. Once you clear the enemies, you’ll solve an Axiom Force puzzle to reboot the ancient generators inside.
How To Reach The Wayward Woods Witch Hideout
The hideout sits deep inside the foggy woods on the western side of Pailune. Getting there takes a bit of work, especially if you haven’t explored the area yet.
Here’s the step-by-step path:
- Start from Pailune City. Follow the dirt path heading southwest.
- Watch for a blocked gate. Halfway along, a gate blocks the road. You need Nature’s Grasp to lift it and continue through the mountain gap into the Wayward Woods.
- Use Focused Force Palm to clear another blocked road. This ability is learned during the Scholastone main quest, so make sure you’ve progressed far enough.
- Spot the mysterious energy zone. Along the route, you’ll pass one of these. Step inside to unlock a nearby Abyss Nexus — a useful fast travel point for future trips.
- Leave the dirt path near the end. When you get close to the marked location, veer off the path. Climb the hills and giant tree trunks to reach the witch’s house, which is surrounded by red flowers.
Tip: Don’t try this at night if you can help it. The fog makes navigation very difficult. Stick to the dirt path and travel during the day.
If you’ve already unlocked an Abyss Nexus closer to the hideout, use it to fast travel and save yourself the walk from the city.
Opening The Door And Meeting The White Crow
Once you arrive at the hideout with all four tokens in hand:
- Walk up to the door.
- Insert all four Witch’s Tokens into their slots.
- The door unlocks. Head inside.
The witch waiting inside is the White Crow — the same mysterious figure who has been sending you letters delivered by birds throughout the entire game. She thanks you for helping all the witches and reveals that each one has prepared a gift for you.
Open the chest near her to collect the Icewing Plate Cloak.
Check the nearby shelf to pick up the Oakwood Mushroom Tea Recipe. Don’t skip this — it’s easy to miss.
Speaking with the White Crow completes the Protector of the Abyss Faction Quest.

Each witch needs to be found before you can start her sanctums. They all disguise themselves as NPCs in trouble. Here’s a quick summary of where to find them:
Elowen – Witch of Wisdom Found tied up inside a thorny hut in the Witchwoods. Enter through the hole in the roof, untie her, and she’ll mark her actual house (north of the Witchwoods) on your map.
Bari – Witch of Kindness Disguised as a freezing old woman under a tent, east of the Wayward Woods landmark near Silverwolf Cave. Light the brazier to warm her. Her real home is a cabin in the middle of Crimson Lake, south of Silver Wolf Mountain.
Lyselia – Witch of Humility Found hanging off a ruined bridge in Beighen during Chapter 7. Pull her up. Her real location is a cave in the Serpent Marsh in the Demeniss region, marked with colorful hanging ribbons.
Areciel – Witch of Strength Disguised as a child north of Tashkalp. Give her a copper coin. Her actual house is northwest of the World’s Navel, near Urdavah, high up on a cliff. She becomes available after Chapter 8.
