Requirements Before You Start

You cannot encounter the Mountain God Boar right away. There are two things you need to do first.

Complete Chapter 7. The Pailune region is locked behind story progress. The city of Pailune is only liberated at the end of Chapter 7, and the quest notice tied to this boss only appears after that happens.
Read the Lumberjack’s Witness Report. Once Pailune is free, wander through the city and look for bounty notices posted on pillars and posts around town. One of them is the Lumberjack’s Witness Report. You need to find and read this specific notice. According to community reports, the tree-cutting trigger does not activate until you have picked up this contract. Check every purple bounty notice marker on your minimap as you walk through the city.

The report tells you that something dangerous has been attacking people who cut down trees near Pailune. That danger is the Mountain God Boar.

Legendary Mountain God Boar Location in Crimson Desert

Once you have completed the requirements above, the next step is getting to the right spot.

Head to Odeck, which is located north of Silver Wolf Mountain in the Pailune region. This forested area is the best place to trigger the boss because it has the highest concentration of trees. The Argent Peaks area, north of Pailune, is another solid option. Avoid fighting near rocky hills or slopes if you can — rough terrain makes dodging harder during the boss fight.

The Mountain God Boar does not have a fixed spawn point on the map. It appears wherever you destroy enough trees. This means you have some control over where the fight happens, so pick a flat, open area before you start clearing.

How to Trigger the Mountain God Boar Spawn

Cut down trees. That is the whole mechanic. You need to destroy somewhere between 15 and 20 trees in the Pailune region. Once the threshold is crossed, the Mountain God Boar appears automatically — no cutscene, no waiting. It spawns suddenly, so be ready to fight as soon as you hit that last tree.

A few things to keep in mind:

The Mountain God Boar cannot be summoned outside of Pailune. Cutting trees elsewhere does nothing.
It will not respawn after being defeated, even if you cut more trees. This is a one-time encounter per playthrough.
The boar arrives with several smaller Mountain God Boars as allies. Expect a group fight, not a one-on-one.

What the Mountain God Boar Looks Like

When the boss spawns, you will recognize it immediately. The Mountain God Boar is a massive creature covered in branches, leaves, and forest debris. It looks like a boar that has grown out of the forest itself. The smaller boars that accompany it look similar but are much easier to deal with.

How to Beat the Mountain God Boar

This is a single-phase fight. There are no transformations or second forms. However, the boss hits hard and charges fast, so do not let your guard down.

Weakness: Fire Skills

The Mountain God Boar’s main weakness is Fire. Using fire-based skills builds up its stagger gauge faster than anything else. Once the stagger gauge is full, the boss staggers and takes extra damage. Best Skills to Use

Turning Slash — Works well even without fire skills. It builds the stagger gauge, just a bit slower.
Volcanic Eruption — One of the best fire abilities for this fight.
Any Flame Abyss Gear skill — Pairs perfectly with the boar’s fire weakness.

The basic combat loop is: dodge the charge, hit back with fire, repeat. The smaller boars can be cleared quickly with Turning Slash so they do not distract you from the main fight. Positioning Tips

Fight in a flat open area. Rocky ground and trees around you make dodging harder.
If you summon the boss near a road or path, nearby NPCs may join the fight and help you.
Keep moving. The boar’s primary attacks are heavy charge runs and slam impacts. Bait the charge and punish after it misses.

Ranged vs Melee

Mountain God Boar Drops and Rewards

After the fight, the Mountain God Boar’s loot will drop to the ground — it does not go directly to your inventory. Walk over the drops to collect them.

The Mountain God Boar currently has no unique crafting recipes tied to its drops, and it cannot be used as a mount. Unlike the Polar Bear or Silver Fang legendary mounts, this is purely a boss fight with crafting material rewards. Pearl Abyss may add more to this encounter in future patches.

Can the Mountain God Boar Be Used as a Mount?

No. As of Patch 1.05.00, the Mountain God Boar is a boss encounter and nothing more. You cannot tame it or ride it. Mountain God Boar Not Spawning — Common Fixes

If the boss is not appearing after you cut trees, check the following:

Did you read the Lumberjack’s Witness Report? The trigger does not activate until you pick up this contract in Pailune. This is the most common reason the spawn fails.
Did you complete Chapter 7? The Pailune region must be fully liberated. If you are still in earlier chapters, the encounter will not be available.
Are you cutting trees in Pailune? The boss cannot be summoned outside this region. Trees in other parts of the map do not count.
Did you cut enough trees? You need at least 15 to 20. Keep going if nothing has happened yet.
Is the boss already dead? Once defeated, the Mountain God Boar does not respawn in the same playthrough.
