TL;DR
- The Precipice of Truth is part of the Path of Providence Abyss sequence, unlocked after completing Root’s End
- Destroy the explosive orb with Axiom Force to get a Power Core — this is your key item for the whole puzzle
- There are three Power Cores total in the area — you only need one if you’re careful, but extras exist in case you drop one
- Place two batteries into fans to progress across the area, then a third battery into the final slot
- Punch the central cog with Force Palm (while crouching) to complete the puzzle
- Rewards: one Abyss Artifact and the Diving Force Palm skill
- Critical bug warning: Save your game manually before starting — if you fall or reload mid-puzzle, Power Cores can vanish and lock you out
What Is the Precipice of Truth in Crimson Desert?
The Precipice of Truth is a floating Abyss island and one of the puzzle areas in the Path of Providence sequence. It comes directly after the Root’s End puzzle and is noticeably more complex. The main mechanic here involves Power Cores — explosive orb enemies that drop a cube when destroyed. Those cubes unlock battery cells trapped behind force field slots, and those batteries power the wind fans that let you cross the area.
Finishing the Precipice of Truth rewards you with an Abyss Artifact and unlocks the Diving Force Palm skill, a new ability for Kliff. A skybridge at the end also opens up, leading to the next Abyss area.

How to Reach the Precipice of Truth in Crimson Desert
The Precipice of Truth unlocks after you complete Root’s End. There are two ways to get there.

Option 1 – Use the Skybridge (Standard Route)
After completing Root’s End, walk through the gate that opens at the north end of the island. Follow the path forward, which leads to a series of moving platforms. At the end, you’ll reach a floating platform that only moves up and down — it doesn’t connect to anything automatically.
Wait for it to reach its highest point, then jump and immediately chain three Aerial Force Palms to gain maximum height. Open your Wings at the peak and glide forward to the teleporter platform. Step on it and you’ll be transported directly to the Precipice of Truth.
Option 2 – Fly Directly (Fast Route)
If you’ve unlocked at least one or two Stamina upgrades, you can skip the whole path. From the northeast edge of Root’s End, jump and glide directly across to the Precipice of Truth island. It’s a long glide but very doable with decent stamina. Bring stamina recovery consumables if you’re unsure.
Before You Start — Important Warning
The Precipice of Truth has a known bug that can lock you out of the puzzle. If you fall off the island, reload a save, or leave mid-puzzle, the Power Cores can disappear permanently, making it impossible to complete without reverting to an earlier save.
Save your game manually before touching anything in this area. If something goes wrong, you’ll need a save from before you entered the puzzle to reset it cleanly. Many players have had to roll back several hours of progress because of this.
Also — if you’ve already unlocked the Kiln Repair at the Kilnden Workshop quest, you’ll have the Kuku Pot. This lets you seal Power Cores and carry them in your inventory, which makes this puzzle much easier to manage. If you don’t have it yet, you’ll need to drag the Power Cores manually across platforms using Axiom Force the entire time.
Precipice of Truth Puzzle Solution in Crimson Desert
Step 1 – Activate the Abyss Nexus Fast Travel Point
The moment you arrive at the Precipice of Truth, find the Abyss Nexus checkpoint and stand on it to activate it. Do this before touching anything else. If you fall off the island later, you can warp straight back here without repeating the entire approach.
Step 2 – Destroy the First Explosive Orb and Get the Power Core

At the entrance to the puzzle area, you’ll find a stone structure that opens to reveal a floating orb. This orb will immediately start firing explosive projectiles at Kliff — so act quickly.
Use Axiom Force (hold L3) to grab the orb. This destroys it instantly and causes it to drop a glowing Power Core cube on the ground. Pick it up with Axiom Force.
If you have the Kuku Pot, seal the Power Core now by grabbing it with Axiom Force and pressing Triangle (PS5) or Y (Xbox). This puts it safely in your inventory so you don’t have to drag it manually.
There are three Power Core orbs total in the area. You only need one at a time, but having extras means you’re covered if you accidentally drop one.
Step 3 – Place the Power Core in the First Slot and Grab Battery 1
Carry the Power Core forward and through the cave to the other side. You’ll come out near the Abyss Nexus fast travel point. Just to the right of the Nexus, you’ll spot a slot in the wall with a force field in front of it.
Place the Power Core into that slot using Axiom Force. The force field drops and reveals Battery 1 behind it. Grab the battery with Axiom Force.
Step 4 – Place Battery 1 Into the Fan Slot to Activate Wind Current 1
Carry Battery 1 to the fan platform nearby. Hold the battery in front of the fan slot with Axiom Force, then use Force Current to push it into place. The fan activates and creates a strong wind current upward.
Use the wind current to ride up to the next platform level. Jump first and chain Aerial Force Palms to gain extra height if needed, then let the wind carry you up.

Step 5 – Destroy the Second Orb and Get Power Core 2
On the upper platform, move quickly. There’s another explosive orb here and it will start firing at Kliff immediately. Use Axiom Force to grab and destroy it before it knocks you off the platform. It drops another Power Core — pick it up.
If you still have your first Power Core sealed in the Kuku Pot, you can use that one here instead.
Step 6 – Place Power Core 2 in the Second Slot and Grab Battery 2
With the second Power Core in hand, find the second mechanism slot nearby. Insert the Power Core into it to drop another force field. This reveals Battery 2 inside the wall. Take it.
Without a Kuku Pot: This section requires some careful platforming. You need to carry Battery 2 while navigating between platforms. Move slowly and deliberately — don’t rush the jumps. If you drop the battery, it will reset to a recovery box at your camp’s donation area, which you can retrieve from the recovery option.
With a Kuku Pot: Seal Battery 2, cross the gap freely, then unseal it on the other side when you’re ready to place it.
Step 7 – Activate Fan 2 to Cross to the Other Side
Place Battery 2 into the second fan slot using the same method as before — Axiom Force to hold it in position, then Force Current to push it in. The second fan activates.
Before crossing, make sure any unsealed Power Cores are either within Axiom Force range from the other side or sealed in your Kuku Pot. You’ll need a Power Core on the far side for the next step.
Ride the wind current across to the other side of the Precipice of Truth.
Step 8 – Place Power Core in the Third Slot and Grab Battery 3
On the far side, you’ll immediately see a third mechanism slot. Use your Power Core (unseal it from the Kuku Pot if needed) and insert it into this slot. The force field drops and reveals the final battery — Battery 3.
Take Battery 3 and carry it to the upper platform just above you. Use Axiom Force to hold it in position in front of its slot, then use Force Palm to punch it into place. This activates the final wind current in the area.
Step 9 – Ride the Final Wind Current to the Cog
Use the last wind current to ride up toward the large central cog at the top of the Precipice of Truth. The wind carries Kliff most of the way — open your Wings at the end to steer onto the cog platform safely.
Step 10 – Punch the Cog to Complete the Puzzle
Climb up to the center of the large cog. Crouch first, then use Force Palm to punch the center pressure pad. This is the same mechanic as Root’s End — you must be crouching or it won’t register.
A cutscene plays, the Abyss Nexus activates fully, and the Precipice of Truth puzzle is complete.

Precipice of Truth Rewards
After solving the puzzle, collect the Abyss Artifact that appears. Then look for the jumping Palm Strike prompt — using it here unlocks the Diving Force Palm skill, a new aerial combat ability for Kliff.
A skybridge to the northeast opens up next. Head through to reach the next Abyss area. Note that the very end of the Precipice of Truth has a locked gate that can’t be opened yet — that unlocks later in the story, so don’t stress about it now.
Tips for the Precipice of Truth
- Save manually before entering. This cannot be stressed enough. The lockout bug is real and has affected many players.
- Get the Kuku Pot first. Complete the Kiln Repair at the Kilnden Workshop quest before attempting this puzzle. The Kuku Pot makes carrying Power Cores trivial and removes most of the difficulty.
- There are three Power Core orbs total. You only need one active at a time, but if you accidentally drop one off the edge, the others are your backup.
- Don’t fall. Falling off resets the Power Cores and can trigger the lockout bug. Stay slow and deliberate on every platform.
- If you get locked out, go to the recovery option at your camp’s donation area — dropped batteries and cores can sometimes be retrieved there. If not, you’ll need to revert to a save before you touched the puzzle.
- Activate the Nexus first every single time you arrive at a new Abyss area. It’s a habit worth building.

What Comes After the Precipice of Truth?
The skybridge at the end leads to more Abyss challenges. The Path of Providence continues, but the locked gate at the very end of the Precipice of Truth needs story progression to open — you can’t force it early.
