  • Use Nature’s Snare (Triangle + Circle) to lift the west wall and reveal a second dial.
  • Collect the floating Power Core, store it in the Kuku Pot, then place it on the east cube.
  • Activate the power circle with Force Palm (hold L2, then R3) to finish the puzzle and earn your Abyss Artifact.
  • The next puzzle in the chain is Frostbitten Paradise.

The Ether Rest Abyss puzzle in Crimson Desert sits on the floating islands of the Sleet Isles. You reach it by completing the Spire of Ringing Truth and passing through its Abyss Gate. It is the first island puzzle in this chain, and it tests three core skills: Axiom Force, Nature’s Snare, and Force Palm.

If you are here, you probably got stuck at one of the rooms. Don’t worry — this guide walks you through every step clearly, so you can grab your reward and keep moving.

How to Access Ether Rest

Before you can start the Ether Rest puzzle, you need to reach it. Here is how:

  1. Travel to Pailune, west of the Wayward Woods.
  2. Climb or teleport to the Spire of Ringing Truth.
  3. Complete the Spire (or use the Abyss Nexus nearby if already unlocked) to enter the Abyss Gate.
  4. Use the wind turbines and your wings to fly up into the main puzzle room.

Once you arrive in the large multi-level structure, you are ready to begin. The full chain from here goes: Ether Rest → Frostbitten Paradise → Path of Trials → Sanctorum of Darkness → Loop of Life → Tree of Slumber. The final stops in this chain reward you with Flame Strike and Frost Mantle abilities.

💡 Tip: Make sure you have already unlocked Axiom Force and Nature’s Snare before entering. You cannot finish this puzzle without them.

How to Solve the Ether Rest Abyss Puzzle in Crimson Desert

The puzzle has three main stages. Each one unlocks the next room. Follow the steps below in order.

Step 1 – Open the Central Elevator

step 1 open the central elevator
step 1 open the central elevator
  1. When you arrive in Ether Rest, walk behind the central pillar (face south).
  2. Look up and find the yellow dial on the pillar above.
  3. Press L3 to activate Axiom Force and grab the dial.
  4. Use the D-Pad to rotate it anti-clockwise two times.
  5. A door will open. Step through and use the wind turbine to ride up to the next room.

The rotating mechanism here works exactly like the wall-spinning puzzles found in places like the Duskwood Ancient Ruins. The concept is the same — rotate until the openings align.

Step 2 – Escape the Rotating Room

step 2 escape the room
step 2 escape the room
  1. Look at the west wall. You will see a large movable wall panel.
  2. Press Triangle + Circle to cast Nature’s Snare and lift the wall panel up.
  3. Behind the wall, there is now a yellow dial exposed.
  4. Use Axiom Force (L3) to grab this dial.
  5. Use the D-Pad to rotate the walls until the gap from the wall you lifted lines up with a small crawl space.
  6. Crawl through the opening.
  7. On the south side of the outer room, find the wind turbine and use your wings to fly upward.

💡 Tip: Keep Nature’s Snare active and hold it in place. The wall is heavy. If you release too early, it drops and you will have to start this step again.

Step 3 – Power the Cores and Finish the Puzzle

This is the final and most involved stage. It uses the Kuku Pot mechanic to carry a Power Core safely across the room.

step 3 find and use the power cores to finish the puzzle
step 3 find and use the power cores to finish the puzzle
  1. Float upward using the wind turbines around the room.
  2. At the halfway point, you will spot a floating cube with electricity sparking out of it. This is the Power Core.
  3. Use Axiom Force to pick it up, then press Triangle / Y to seal it inside the Kuku Pot.
  4. Climb to the top of the pillar and enter the Kuku Pot from your inventory.
  5. Click “Discard” on “Power Core – Gate of Collapse” to place it down on the floor.
  6. Use Axiom Force to move the Power Core across the room to the stone cube on the east side.
  7. Now climb the spiral wires upward.
  8. Use the wind turbine at the top and glide over to the power activation circle.
  9. Hold L2 to grip the wall, then press R3 to Force Palm the activation circle.
  10. The next Abyss Gate opens and your Abyss Artifact reward appears.

💡 Tip: Force Palm while wall-climbing will push you off. Be ready to glide and re-grab the wall immediately after pressing R3. Once you are back on, climb up to collect the Abyss Artifact.

Rewards for Completing Ether Rest

Once you activate the final power circle, you earn an Abyss Artifact. These are important for character progression — you use them to unlock upgrades in the Abyss skill tree.

After claiming your reward, you will move into a short transition area. There is an odd ledge at the end. Activate it with Nature’s Snare, hold the skill active until the turbine charges up, and the ledge will carry you like a boat across to the next island: Frostbitten Paradise.

What Comes Next in the Abyss Chain?

The Ether Rest island is just the beginning of a long chain in the Sleet Isles. Here is every island in order:

  1. Ether Rest (this guide)
  2. Frostbitten Paradise
  3. Path of Trials – rewards Frost Mantle
  4. Sanctorum of Darkness
  5. Loop of Life
  6. Tree of Slumber – rewards Flame Strike

Completing the full chain unlocks two powerful abilities: Flame Strike and Frost Mantle. These are some of the strongest tools Kliff gets in the game.
