TL;DR

  • The Sanctum of Veneration is on Mount Benus in the Blue Thicket, southeast Delesyia — above the “U” in “Benus” on the map. It’s a steep climb, so bring a high-stamina mount.
  • Must have met the Witch of Humility first or cleansing is locked.
  • Clear all Antumbra enemies until the green liberation bar hits 0%.
  • Only one Fusion Reactor Core is needed: Fusion Reactor Core: XIII, found behind a secret wall opened with Nature’s Grasp (Circle+Triangle / B+Y / C on PC).
  • You cannot open the secret wall with explosives or heavy attacks — only Nature’s Grasp works.
  • Use Focus + Force Palm (L3+R3, then R3) to slot the core into the battery cleanly.
  • This is the final sanctum for the Witch of Humility. All four completed = her full reward unlocks.

The Sanctum of Veneration is the final one you need to cleanse for the Witch of Humility. It sits on Mount Benus in the Blue Thicket area, southeast Delesyia — find the word “Benus” on your map and the sanctum is directly above the “U”. The climb is steep, so use a mount with high stamina or be ready for some vertical parkour to reach the entrance.

Before anything else — you must have already met the Witch of Humility. Cleansing is locked until she’s been encountered. You can liberate the sanctum by defeating enemies, but the generator puzzle won’t activate without her blessing first.

This is also the only Witch of Humility sanctum that needs just one Fusion Reactor Core instead of two. The whole puzzle is quicker than the others, but the secret wall mechanic trips up a lot of players who don’t realize only Nature’s Grasp can open it.

For the other three Witch of Humility sanctums, see our guides for the Sanctum of Devotion, Sanctum of Faith, and Sanctum of Oblation.

Where Is the Sanctum of Veneration in Crimson Desert?

The Sanctum of Veneration is on Mount Benus in the Blue Thicket, southeast Delesyia. On your world map, navigate to the “Benus” text — the sanctum entrance sits high on the cliffs directly above the “U”. Fast travel to the nearest Abyss Nexus in Delesyia and follow the path up. See our fast travel guide if you need help unlocking nearby nexus points.

Before You Start — Key Mechanics

Nature’s Grasp — Circle+Triangle (PS) / B+Y (Xbox) / C (PC). The only ability that opens the secret wall hiding the Fusion Reactor Core. Explosives, heavy attacks, and Axiom Force will not work on this wall. If Nature’s Grasp isn’t prompting for you, check that you’ve progressed the main story far enough to have unlocked it — it becomes available during Story Chapter 2.

Axiom Force — Hold L3 (PS) / Hold LB (Xbox) / Hold TAB (PC) to grab and push heavy objects. See our Axiom Force guide if needed.

Kuku Pot — Seals and transports Reactor Cores between rooms. Lost yours? Check the supply chest at Howling Hill Greymane Camp, or dispatch the “Kuku Pot Production” mission at your camp.

Focus + Force Palm — L3+R3 to enter Focus, then R3 for Force Palm: Focus (PS). LB+RB then RB (Xbox). TAB + right mouse, then right mouse (PC). More controlled and precise than the aerial version for battery slot placements. Tip: Upgrade your Focus Gauge duration in the skill tree — more time in Focus mode makes aligning the Force Palm strike significantly easier.

Green leaves glowing around the core means it’s correctly positioned. Wait for them before using Force Palm. You’ll also hear a distinct audio cue when the core slots in correctly.

Environmental hint: Floating leaf particles and glowing runes mark every interaction point in this sanctum — if something looks like it reacts to an ability, it probably does.

Step 1 – Clear the Area

When you arrive, Antumbra Order enemies will be swarming the sanctum. Defeat every one of them until the green liberation bar on the left hits 0%. Watch for flying Antumbra wizards — use arrows or ranged attacks to shoot them down first before cleaning up the ground units. A cutscene plays once the area is fully liberated, and the cleansing objective activates.

How to Cleanse the Sanctum of Veneration in Crimson Desert

Only one Fusion Reactor Core is needed here. Here’s exactly where to find it and how to place it.

Step 2 – Find the Secret Wall

After clearing the enemies, jump down to the left from the main altar area. Head into the south region of the sanctum. You’ll come across a brick wall that looks like an ordinary part of the structure. Many players try breaking it with attacks or explosives — neither works.

Stand in front of the brick wall and use Nature’s Grasp (Circle+Triangle / B+Y / C) to open it. The wall peels back to reveal a hidden room.

Step 3 – Grab the Fusion Reactor Core: XIII

Inside the hidden room, you’ll find the Fusion Reactor Core: XIII. Use Axiom Force to pick it up, then press Triangle (PS) / Y (Xbox) / R (PC) to Seal it into the Kuku Pot.

Step 4 – Return to the Generator

Head back upstairs to the sanctum generator. Open your inventory, enter the Kuku Pot, and select “Discard” on the Fusion Reactor Core: XIII to drop it nearby.

Step 5 – Place the Core in the Battery Slot

  1. Use Axiom Force to push the core toward the left side of the sanctum generator where the empty battery slot is.
  2. Slowly move the core into position. When you see green leaves glowing around it, it’s correctly aligned.
  3. Enter Focus mode (L3+R3 / LB+RB / TAB + right mouse).
  4. While in Focus, press R3 / RB / right mouse to perform Force Palm: Focus and punch the core firmly into the slot.
  5. You’ll hear an audio cue confirming it’s locked in correctly.

The generator activates and the sanctum is cleansed.

What Happens After You Cleanse the Sanctum of Veneration?

The Witch of Humility appears and speaks about the sanctum’s history. Cleansing all four of her sanctums — Veneration, Devotion, Faith, and Oblation — unlocks her full reward, including powerful Kuku weapon blueprints. This also counts toward the Sanctum Exploration Challenge in your challenge log.

Once all four are done, return to the Witch of Humility to claim what she’s promised.

Common Issues and Fixes

“The secret wall won’t open.” Only Nature’s Grasp works here. Make sure you’ve unlocked it through the main story (Story Chapter 2 at the latest). Stand directly in front of the brick wall and use Circle+Triangle / B+Y / C. Explosives and heavy attacks do nothing.

“Nature’s Grasp prompt isn’t appearing.” You may not have unlocked Nature’s Grasp yet. Progress the main questline — it becomes available during the early chapters. It is physically impossible to complete this puzzle without it.

“The core won’t slot into the battery.” Wait for the green leaves to appear before using Force Palm. If you’re struggling with the aerial version, switch to Focus + Force Palm (L3+R3, then R3) for more precise placement. Upgrading your Focus Gauge duration in the skill tree also helps.

“The liberation bar won’t empty.” Check the perimeter for any remaining Antumbra enemies, especially flying wizards. Even one straggler blocks the liberation from completing.

“I lost the Kuku Pot.” Check the supply chest at Howling Hill Greymane Camp, or run the “Kuku Pot Production” dispatch mission at your camp.
