What Is the Telesto Report Triumph?
The Telesto Report is a Combat: Armaments Triumph added in the Monument of Triumph update for Destiny 2. It sits in the Combat category of the Monument of Triumph Triumph list and asks you to defeat enemies using the legendary (or rather, infamous) Telesto Exotic Fusion Rifle.
The full Triumph description reads: “Defeat combatants with the Exotic weapon Telesto in any activity. Bonus progress is granted while you have a Telesto emblem equipped.”
Completing it earns you 15 Legendary Marks, which you can spend at the Tenet vendors in the Tower Courtyard. It also contributes toward the broader Combat: Armaments category, which awards an additional 50 Legendary Marks for completing five Triumphs within it. This Triumph is one of the more enjoyable ones in the Monument checklist — it is a nod to Telesto’s legendary history of breaking Destiny 2, and Bungie even built bonus incentive into it for players who are already part of the Telesto fan club.
Step 1 – Get the Free Telesto Emblem First
Before you start farming kills, grab the free Telesto emblem. Equipping it gives you bonus progress per kill, meaning you need fewer total kills to complete the Triumph. This is the single most important tip for this challenge — do not start grinding without it.

Redeem this code at Bungie.net while logged into your account. After redeeming, you can find the emblem in your Collections under the Flair section in the General tab. The emblem is called Schrödinger’s Gun — a fitting name for Telesto, a weapon that exists in a permanent state of both working correctly and breaking the entire game at the same time.
Once you have it, open your Character screen, go to your emblem slot, and equip Schrödinger’s Gun before you fire a single Telesto bolt.
Step 2 – Get the Telesto Exotic Fusion Rifle
If you do not already own Telesto, you need to obtain it before completing this Triumph. Telesto is a Void Exotic Fusion Rifle with the Unplanned Reprieve perk — its fusion bolts attach to enemies and surfaces before detonating with a delayed Void blast. The Harbinger’s Pulse intrinsic perk also causes multikills to immediately reload your equipped Kinetic and Energy weapons from reserves, which makes it genuinely useful beyond meme status.
Here is how to get Telesto:
- Exotic Engrams: Telesto can drop from Exotic Engrams as a random world Exotic. Decrypt Exotic Engrams from Rahool in the Tower and hope it appears in the pool.
- Xûr: When Xûr visits each weekend, he sells a random Exotic weapon alongside his curated stock. Check our Xûr location guide each weekend to see if Telesto is available for purchase with Legendary Shards.
- Lost Sectors: Master and Legend Lost Sectors have a chance to drop Exotic weapons on completion, including Telesto.
- General world drops: Public Events, Vanguard Ops, Gambit, and Crucible all have a small chance to reward an Exotic Engram containing Telesto.
If you already have Telesto in your Collections from previous play, you can pull it from there at no cost.
Step 3 – Farm 100 Kills (With the Emblem Bonus)
With the Schrödinger’s Gun emblem equipped and Telesto in your Energy slot, you are ready to farm. The Triumph requires 100 combatant defeats with Telesto in any activity, but the emblem gives bonus progress per kill, so you will likely hit the completion mark well before you rack up 100 literal kills.
The best activities for fast Telesto farming are:
Onslaught
Onslaught is one of the fastest kill-count activities in the game. Enemies spawn in constant dense waves, and Telesto’s sticky bolt explosions can hit multiple targets per shot in tight clusters. A few rounds of Onslaught with the emblem bonus active can push you close to completion very quickly. This is the recommended method if you want to finish the Triumph in a single session.
Dense Patrol Zones During Distortions
Landing on a Distorted destination during an active Distortion window floods the patrol zone with empowered enemies and increases spawn density. Running Public Events with Telesto equipped chips away at the Triumph while you also farm Strange Matter and earn higher-tier loot at the same time. Efficient if you are working through multiple objectives at once.
Altar of Sorrow or Blind Well
Both activities send large numbers of enemies at you in a contained arena. Telesto’s bolt explosions work well in these enclosed spaces, and the constant enemy pressure means you are rarely waiting for targets to appear.
Strike Playlist
Any Strike in the Vanguard Ops playlist works. The consistent enemy flow throughout Strike missions gives you a steady stream of kills without requiring any special setup. Not the fastest method, but completely reliable if you prefer structured PvE content.
Telesto and the Are You Sure About This Triumph
While you have Telesto equipped, you should also try to knock out a second related Triumph at the same time. The Are You Sure About This Triumph asks you to use Telesto to defeat Tethys the Defended, a shielded enemy that can only be damaged by Telesto’s bolts.
Tethys is found in the Dreaming City, in Rheasilvia. From the spawn point, go through the Divilian Mists and take the left at the large door to come out near Petra Venj, then head right. Look for a small cave directly underneath the large bridge that spans a deep ravine. Tethys is inside.
Tethys is tough — it teleports frequently, hits hard, and its shields regenerate fast if you are not breaking them quickly enough. Bring friends if you can, or be prepared for a patient solo fight. Other Guardians in the area using Telesto also contribute to breaking its shields, so you can benefit if others happen to be working on the same objective. Completing this Triumph rewards 20 Legendary Marks and also counts toward the Combat: Armaments category.
What Does the Telesto Report Triumph Reward?
Completing the Telesto Report Triumph awards 15 Legendary Marks added directly to your account currency. Marks have no expiry date and no weekly cap — you can hold as many as you earn and spend them at the four Tenet vendors in the Tower Courtyard at any time.
It also counts as one of the five Triumphs needed to complete the Combat: Armaments category, which pays out a bonus 50 Legendary Marks on top. If you are building toward the Immortal Title, completing Combat: Armaments is one of the 12 category completions required to earn it.

Other Combat: Armaments Triumphs Worth Completing at the Same Time
Since the Telesto Report sits inside the Combat: Armaments category, here are the other four Triumphs in that group to help you complete the category and claim the 50-Mark bonus:
- A Bit Much, Really — Defeat a single rank-and-file enemy with your Super in any combatant-focused activity. This is essentially free and happens naturally while playing.
- Are You Sure About This — Defeat Tethys the Defended in Rheasilvia, Dreaming City, using Telesto. Covered above — combine it with your Telesto kill farm.
- Knife of My Slaying — Complete an activity with only Swords or Glaives equipped, defeating at least 50 combatants with them. A Strike or patrol session works well. Rewards 20 Legendary Marks.
- A fifth Combat: Armaments Triumph — check your in-game Triumph list for the remaining entry in this category to round out your five completions.
Quick Tips for the Telesto Report Triumph
- Always equip the Schrödinger’s Gun emblem before farming. The bonus progress makes a real difference. Redeem code 9LX-7YC-6TX at Bungie.net if you have not already.
- Aim for clustered enemies. Telesto bolts explode in a small area. Hitting one bolt into a group of three enemies gives more progress than three individual shots at spread targets.
- Combine with Are You Sure About This. You already have Telesto out — take a detour to Rheasilvia in the Dreaming City and knock out Tethys too.
- Do not swap off Telesto mid-session. Kill progress only counts while Telesto is the weapon dealing the final blow. Softening enemies with another weapon is fine, but the killing shot must be from Telesto.
